Coupe or Convertible for my ZR1? What will it run down the 1/4 mile?
If it could launch like the Z06 I'd say about the same as 765LT
Edit: some big factors should be considered here
This car weighs about 100kgs more than the SF90 and that's the ZTK package.
Also how much more power will it have on E85?
The split window is the move 💯
Brooks,I say prepped track a 9.67 at 153 and maybe a 9.50 at 155.. it will be stout.. the yellow is growing on me. Im getting lo spoiler limited option car..we have a good wait tho.. than I see the awd version coming after.. with 1400hp..What color you getting? ✌Dan

Can’t believe they did the right thing with the ZR1 this time. No more mass produced Denali/Escalade/camaro done up motor with a sc on it. Best move GM has done.

Better den ur average torqueless engines
@@bigadielldne7234People usually say that something like the GM LT6, Bmw S65, Ferrari F136 (NA flat plane V8) Honda NA i4’s, Voodoo/Coyote, etc. have no torque.
They all make very healthy amounts of torque given their displacement and everything else considered. They might sacrifice some torque at lower rpm in exchange for more torque at higher rpm. Anyone with more than two brain cells knows that the same torque at higher rpm means more power.
Less torque at lower rpm can easily be remedied by gearing, especially considering the engine revs high, ultimately making more torque to the wheels than a lower revving engine making the same torque.
@@PapiAndrey Almost all hypo engines (high reving internally upgraded small blocks) S2k’s F20C and F22C1, K20’s in Type-R’s, Ford/GM 302’s/coyotes, 327, 331, 347, 383, LS7 are all instant classic for a reason. And GM understood that, this time around. No offense C6 ZR1 guys, but you know it’s true. lol.
The convertible looks surprisingly good, but the coupe is the way to go.
Agree
Only the ZR1 because of the split window, the HTC looks better in the Z06 and stingray.
I always go for the headroom. No one ever removes the targa more than once a year. It is a miserable experience.

With you having the best content on UA-cam, Chevy would be insane not to let you bring fresh exciting quality ZR1 content to the masses.
Brook, I really appreciate your knowledge, simplicity and straightforward approach to any sport car engineer. Thank you 👏👏👏
The best! Chevy better get wise and put our guy at the top of the deliveries list. Nobody influences sales of performance cars like Brooks does. The ZR1 is actually not limited production !
It really is limited. They are not building them unless they are sold well before hand.

Hopefully, it drops the price of the Z06 😂😂@jesseearley4508
ZR1 versus 765LT on a good Florida dragstrip is a must see.
If you're looking for 1/4 races, get the coupe and WITHOUT the aero package. It weighs less and the aero package reduces top speed due to the downforce.
Good point.
Plus, I think they look better without the aero pack
Agreed.. Below is my comment from another subscriber about this subject:
Absolutely yes. With no high downforce package to maximize his potential in the drag races and street races and roll races... And I truly hope he gets full bolt ons and ECU and tcu tuning with full exhaust upgrade and maybe even methane injection and an icebox to keep everything ice cold in that hot Florida heat..
Thanks for giving us this content. Can’t wait to see you run it down the strip.
Pretty wicked. E85 tune and slicks be running mid 8’s maybe???
mid 8's... I don't see that. That's Rimac with 1900HP, instant torque, and AWD... Low 9s for sure
Wonder if the car has E85 Flex logic stock... GM definately has the technology. It's already in a ton of their production cars. If not, race gas will get it there just as easy... Those turbos are huge 76/67... Custom TT Huracans often run 62/66s on 5.2 liter v10s for reference... Let that sink in... And zr1 motor is even more stout... It's really going to come down to what the transmission can take... it is beefed up as well but the DCTs in these types of cars is always the weak point. That's going to be the main factor that limits the times. If the DCT is strong enough, it will go 7s with minimal modifications. If not it will get stuck in the 8s
I honestly wasn't expecting a Covette turbo.
Why not?
It was the only way
Can’t fit a S/C and 20psi of boost is not ideal for superchargers
Hybrid would skyrocket $$$$ the build
EVERYONE was expecting since before the C8 was released and we knew and was told what stages🙄………I bet you’ll be surprised when the Zora comes out, like we having been talking about it for 5 years! 😂🤷🏽♂️
@@dennissmith7214 best thing the zora, if it still even exists, can do is to reduce weight as much as possible
I appreciate all of the hard work done by the GM Team. Every GM, Ford or Dodge motor has been Super Charged or Turbo'd within the first 4 months of availability in Michigan since 2001. It is unique when GM finally offers a twin turbo that we've proven to be boost capable since ever motor forever and I appreciate that for all of the owners that aren't capable of getting the work done by themselves know the production motor is stout. I do invite all of the people that think they are fast to come up and enjoy Woodward Dream Cruise and have some fun up here at Road Kill Nights on Woodward AVE. The original road of big three racing on real streets in America. Think about the biggest car cruise you've ever seen or imagined... then multiply by 10 and you might be close. It's a fun part of automotive history and everyone needs to get up here to Michigan and enjoy it in August at least once in their lifetime as a car person. Think about 12 miles of six lanes of great cars cruising. Then contemplate that people with money fly their fleet of cars in on 747 cargo planes to have fun. :)
I need to see the 765lt vs the new zr1 so bad. I’d be willing to say they’d be dead even in a roll race
Nah roll race 765 is going down. They're scary in the 1/4 though! I bet that one is closer than a roll.
I understand and I'm thinking the zr1 will win if it has no high downforce package.. Especially over a longer race like a one or two mile street race..
~3700 pounds ~910 rwhp vs ~3000 pounds and ~750 rwhp... Drivers race but the ZR1 is going to be pulling harder. ZR1 will win more than it loses... and on rolls it will walk it. Huge Turbos, more displacement, more hp. Chevy flopped their nuts out with this one
@@AJUSA1 True, and the Zr1 has 250lb more of torque as well. Apparently all accessible as low as 3k rpms👀
@@AJUSA1 agreed and definitely with all the restrictive exhaust systems and everything else to make it compliant everywhere the first thing this ZR-1 needs as soon as it is unwrapped from the dealership floor, is to get a straight piped exhaust and have the gas tank filled with ethanol, and have an excellent E85 ecu retune done on it by a reputable aftermarket tuner, so that way it sounds the way it was always meant to and can make the correct amount of horsepower right off the bat, because Normal pump gas is not going to do this engine Justice... and I really hope Brooks does full bolt ons also, so that way it sounds the way it was always meant to and makes power numbers more along the lines of its true hidden potential..
Just saw the TopGear video on this and my first thought was...will DragTimes be getting one....putting a bit/lot of caution on those claimed times with the RWD...get the coupe
It's mid engine... The weight in the back is the entire reason Chevy went to an MR configuration. The traction is there.
This is pretty embarrassing for Lamborghini revuelto.
It has 4wd + like a formula 1 car an "indestructible" carbon fiber monocoque so it is way safer in a crash.

Brooks, as you undoubtedly know an ETS twin turbo regular engine C8 has done the quarter mile in 8.64 seconds @ 170 MPH. Wonder just how fast this ZR1 will be? This time is faster than a Lucid Sapphire and comes very close to the Nevera which costs $2.4 million!
Well Ford & Dodge,ya did you're best! Lol,they're all great but hats off to Chevy from the base Stingrays to this there's something for almost everyone. Can't even imagine what that feels like & bear in mind that's 215+ w/ that huge wang. Actually I like the Vert..
