Fellow dec and Dulux here mate. I use same system. I am happier giving a coat of QD undercoat as an adhesion promoter. Dulux diamond satinwood is the old Sikkens BL I was told. Great drop of gear. I use Staalmeester brushes and they make a great 4 inch sleeve. I get a pretty close finish to spray using them. Other guys slag the diamond I don’t see why. It’s really tough when fully cured and has an almost oil finish to the touch. Good work 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥃

I have used this with two coats and it doesn't seem to be hardening. I put some new door handles and the edges of the plate have cut into the paint and left an indented line. I used Zinnser 123, Dulux Satin Quick Dry Undercoat and then two coats of Diamond. What is the curing time of this product? Thanks.

I was going to do the same system as you. I heard that 5 hours between coats is recommended or try longer if possible it also depends on room temperature with wb paints. How did work for u in end? Is dulux hard wearing? Durability?

@bsfbestshortfilmsonyoutube Hard to tell. Bit soon. But I wouldn't use 123. Rather, any other primer. I am hoping it will cure in time. It wasn't truly hard after 24 hours, so I await the results. I am not there to comment as to the current situation as I am away. Not an easy paint on the brush. Thick and sticks to the brush. You also have to watch out for drips and sagging.

@@geoffsmith673 I may try Johnson Aqua Guard uc and top coat system as it seems to be the only paint so far which I haven't yet seen any negative comments on. The only reason I may use a primer first is because I sanded old glossed painted doors which yellowed and I gave such a hard grit 80 sander I was left with some uneven surfaces. So my idea is 123 primer and the Johnson Aqua Guard uc and top coat system. Dulux Dimond Satinwood Paint doesn't seem to have the best overall rating. too many unhappy customers. why not 123 primer ?

Defo use undercoat before hand not the best. Johnson’s have the best range of waterbased finishes I think. There aqua is 👌
