- We visited this really cute and tiny cafe located at Parnaka in Vasai that serves Goan Food. The name of this place is Maria's Goan Eatery & Bakery.
The ambience is cosy and the interiors are old school with a very aesthetic Goan vibe. Since Vasai is considered as Mini-Goa, this is cafe is a cherry on top.

The strong flavour is because of the vinegar. The red chillies which is the kashmiri kind is for the colour.
It's a good place, but I am getting ambience vibes of Desi bar
Goan food have two different types. Catholic people in Goa have different cuisine and Hindu People have different cuisine. So its depend on which restaurant you r going. And both having their restaurants in many areas in Mumbai which call it Goan (Gomantak) or Konkani Food.

Truly Goan. However no Goan would eat sanna without that God given sorpotel.
You did justice to chicken cafreal (sp.). and portrayed a really a meal well enjoyed.
Unfortunately so far in my life I have not tried Sorpotel. After doing research I found out that it’s quite popular and liked by many. I will soon try it 😄 thank you for suggesting 🙌
Wawa my goan food. But the host the way of eating this food was very messy. Should have enjoyed this tasty food in goan style with fork, knife n spoon having each share of dish on a plate n enjoyed it. That's the beauty of goan Portuguese way of enjoying it.

Total let down. Being a Goan and knowing what Goan dishes taste like.
The prawn xacuti we ordered, was a bright red color and had no coconut present. Even Red Thai curry has a distinct Coconut flavor.
Xacuti Gravy is more brown in colour, because of roasted coconut and caramalized onions.
The cook said they used roasted coconut milk..... Really? There is no milk to extract from roasted coconut..
Cafreal Chicken less said the better. We got bony curry pieces.. For the same price other restaurants serve boneless chicken....

Ros omlet is not that color in goa... I being a goan knows it it is greenish yellow color of garam masala gravy
