    Just learning crochet did a few finger crochet baskets and a crochet rose but this is my first ever amigurumi and it's cute (does have some character since I frogged a bunch and think it increases a little too much (probably because I forgot to count and was having so much fun) but it was a cute first project that had step by step did improvise the legs by doing 10 chains so my tentacles were curling with single crochet since my piece was so big but as I finished I found seeing the decrease was out of frame that it went to the boarder of the words and found it difficult to follow alot but over all love how sweet and step by step you are and how visual you are for us to see helps soooo much to get through to project along with you especially someone who is still learning. As soon as I was done my kids were begging for me to make one. Definitely going to make it again and be more strict with the counting. And I'll be doing more of your video/works as well. Thank you for all that you do in making things. I think I'm going to like this skill and make it into a hobby thanks to you 🥰

    Right at the very start, I'm really struggling to see how you 'insert' the single crochets into the chain...

    After the second round, in the third round, (Sc, inc) x 8, does it complete the full round? So is 3 Sc in the same stitch? Is the inc on the next stitch?

    • @SweetSofties
      @SweetSofties  8 місяців тому +1

      It means to sc, and then in the next st, insert 2 sc (this is called an "increase"). Then repeat that around 8 times. You won't be putting 3 sc in the same st; it's an increase on the next st.

    Yeah I can’t even get past the first chain… at the 8 loop things. I want to learn but I’m not getting it at all

    My use: ( R1) Ch2, Insert 8 SC from the 2nd ch |(R2) Increase ( Remember how many stitch ) | (R3) Sc,Inc | (R4) Sc Continues | (R5) SC, Dec

    Okay so I'm using a bulky blanket yarn for the first time and I am really struggling to see the back loops after doing the tentacles. Any tips??

  • @rainbow_reptile4720

    I will never understand why you choose not to use a magic circle. But it's still cute!

    • @SweetSofties
      @SweetSofties  9 місяців тому

      I use MR for projects with sturdier fiber yarns, but I wrote this one for plush polyester yarn that wouldn’t pull closed correctly with a magic circle. It’s easy for those yarns to break. That’s why I use the ch method to start these types of projects. ☺️

    Its really nice . I tried but it was too fast 4 me , could u plz make it slower 😊

    • @SweetSofties
      @SweetSofties  5 місяців тому

      Thanks! You can try slowing down the speed by changing it in the "settings". You can change it to 0.5 speed.

    Can I use cotton instead of fiber fill

  • @froge9843
    @froge9843 Рік тому +1

    I'm sorry but I don't really think this was beginner friendly 😅 It was fine until the closing. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on, I couldn't find the back loops neither on my figure nor in the video, since the yarn you used was very small and tight. It may be just because I am used to working with chunky yarn but I couldn't really follow the end and would have appreciated a bit more explanation, since now I had to improvise with my little crochet knowledge haha
    It still turned out pretty good, just a bit elongated lol
