---- About the Pattern ----
The Baby Octopus is a fast and easy no-sew amigurumi project, meaning it’s crocheted in one piece! It only takes 10 minutes to make and a great way to use up leftover scrap yarn. This stashbuster design features a round, squishy body and eight chubby little tentacles. These baby octopi are suitable as kawaii (“cute”) ornaments or keychain charms. They serve as fun kids toys, nursery decor, and pocket-sized friends! They’re perfect as birthday party favors or Valentine’s Day gift sets for an entire class of students. They sell well in craft fairs and markets. In addition, they can be used for therapy as a sensory fidget toy or stress ball, for people with anxiety, ADHD, or autism. You can use any yarn fiber, from cotton to chenille velvet, to create different textures…or any weight to create different sizes! This project looks great in all different yarn colors, including solids, ombre, self-striping, and variegated yarn. Customization is easy by adding crocheted appliques, bows, beads, buttons, eyes/facial features, and more.

I made 14, I made 14 octopi. And my army is steadily growing
Yessir
I used to make origami turtles to the point where it went from 0 to a whole turtle town. Population was quickly rising and we didn’t have much space so sadly turtle town became vacant. For octopi.
You sound like me but with over a hundred stuffie I promise I’m mature!
This is it. My favorite comment. ☺️#OctupiArmy
i love this video but as a beginner it took me exactly 1 hour and 57 minutes💀, and it doesn’t look the best because as i mentioned i am a beginner but this was a great tutorial and was easy to follow along to, i will definitely be trying this again soon!💗
Aww I'm sorry to hear that, but hey-- it's AMAZING of you to tackle something new as a beginner!! I am sure that with practice and repetition, you'll be able to whip up these little octos much faster! Howeve,r it's totally ok to take your time in crafting too. Going at a comfortable pace is important!
It would probably take me that long or longer & I’m advanced lol
@@dianacisneros3921 trust me when i say i was rushing…💀
same i actually started crying💀💀
@@user-nk8ns1sx4s i was about to💀
I'm a moderate crocheter and the first one took me about an hour, but the second one took me literally 10 minutes. I'm gonna be doing this all day. Thank you!
You will have a whole gang of octopus! ❤❤❤
10 minutes? I'm jealous! 🤣🤣🤣
@@sisterrose6836 damn me too 😂
Me too I'll do a whole army of them
I started crocheting recently and this was really fun as a mini project. It takes me around 30 minutes to make one but i couldn't stop with just making one of them.. I have a whole mini army, i will gift them to my friends :D I will also try making the big one, thank you for this adorable tutorial!
This is so awesome!!! YAY! I love that you have made a whole army to gift to friends. You'll all have matching octopi, so cute!!
Lol i love this i make a whole army with almost every pattern its just more fun in every single color
Omg same with my cousin
I’ve been crocheting for abt 9 years and this way by far the most difficult video I’ve ever seen I literally gave up
fr its so hard
it took me almost 2 hours as a beginner but its the first time i made something recognizable!! it was easy to follow the tutorial compare to other videos ive watched. thank you sm!! i‘ll make another one now :)
Hey, you DID IT!!!! Congrats! I'm so glad you liked my tutorial. You'll definitely get faster as you practice more!
OMG SAME!!!!!! I tried with lil fine yarn my mom used but then decided no!! I need chunky yarn so i used a 8mm crochet and voila!!!
I made this as a gift for my mom for mothers day, and she loves it! I'm a beginner so mine doesn't look the best 😂 but I love this tutorial!
So sweet of you to make it for Mom!! Of course she loves it!
my octopus ended up with 10 tentacles. i love him.
More legs = more love!!!
That's hilarious and adorable
Absolutely died laughing
I’m learning how to make an octopus, and when I saw this comment, I literally laughed to myself. You made my day. Thank you ❤ 😂🎉
I saw this comment and laughed, I almost had 9, lol. Nice to know I'm not alone in this endeavor! LOLOL
Thank you!! this is my first real project, it took me about 2 hours but this was really clear and easy to follow, I'm really proud of myself!
Yay, go you for tackling something new!!! The first time always takes the longest - you'll whip your second one up faster!
@@SweetSofties and
Wow 😮😮
I made this with plush yarn and it was very big and cute❤ thank you so much for this tutorial
This actually did take me ten minutes while watching the tutorial!! I am making them for the random acts of crochet kindness tysm for this wonderful tutorial!!
Yay!! So awesome to hear that they're going to be put into the world to be found! What a nice surprise they'll be. Are you in the RAK facebook group?
I would love that!! I can't wait to see pics of your duckies in the group! Woudl really appreciate you linking the video too. Thank you so much!
❤❤❤
thank u so much i crocheted my first plushie!
YAY!! Great job, so happy to hear this!!
2 hours for me. I had to use a magic circle to start cause I kept messing up. And my finish isn’t the prettiest (she has a scar on her belly😂). But she’s done! My very own octopus baby. Thanks for the tutorial!
Aww, sorry to hear it took longer than expected! You did it though!! YAY!
Same 😂😂😂
This is actually fun to make. I'm a beginner with crocheting (I normally knit) and this is actually easy and you made it very easy to understand. I've been making a bunch for my daughter who seems to love them and it's great practice to get the skill down.
I loved this tutorial so much. Once I got the hang of working with plush yarn it went by so easily. I can't wait to make the bigger one now
This is literally the best crocheting thing to do as a beginner and also as an advanced it is so fun the only thing I have problems with is closing up the octopus
So happy to hear that! Sorry about closing up the octopus; it's a little fidgety if you're working with such a small amigurumi!
Absolutely perfect for my daughter's class Valentines! Thank you!
Yay, so glad it'll come in handy!!
I learnt the basics of crochet yday and have some experience with knitting (just simple straight rows) so am an absolute beginner. I didn’t think I’d be able to make this but your instructions are so clear and easy to follow that I managed to make it! I mean it’s a bit messy but I’m so happy I could complete it:) it took me about 2 hours and I love my little octo
So happy to hear that, and good job making your little octo!! Your second one will be faster!
This is amazing, even if i accidentally did 9 tentacles, it took me at least ten minutes to make and its still adorable.
That sounds like something I would do intentionally
Mine had 9 tentacles too 😂
I loved the pattern, its so easy to follow...usually chenile yarn is hard to use but this tutorial was short made mine in 15 mins ❤
Awesome to hear!!!
Honestly I consider myself as a more advanced crocheter so it was easy and quick and I barely had to pause, it was a great tutorial!
Great to hear it!! YAY!
Mine looks so cute and it only took me about twenty minutes and Im a beginner! Thanks for the tutorial!❤
I only started crocheting about a week ago because I wanted to make amigurumi. This is the first amigurumi i've made and this was such a good tutorial for a beginner. It was easy to follow, even if my first one took me multiple hours haha. My second octopus only took about half an hour and looks a thousand times better than the first one. Thanks for making such a good tutorial (:
I recommend u get some woobles too! They're easy to make, and go step by step with new stitches!
Tip : If this is extreme fast, you can put the playback speed to 0.25 and there you go you can follow their steps easily
That’s so cute 🥺🥺 Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial!!
So happy you like it, thank you!
One of the best tutorials for beginners! Working alongside you makes it so much easier. Definitely recommend using a stitch marker for unraveling the work if you make any mistakes! Thank you for the video! 🫶🏻
Thank you so much, and that's a great tip about the stitch marker!
this took me about 2 hours as a beginner but i loved it !! actually kinda easy to follow and the result is so cute! (well it’s not looking as amazing as yours but as i said i am a beginner 🫶🏻) thank u for this tutorial !!🐙
I love the way you teach. Thanks for your tutorial. As a beginner is so easy to follow-up.
That's great feedback for me, thank you so much!!
This was sooooo easy to follow. It was my first project and I had no idea about any of the terminology, but the tutorial showed how to do the stitches close up. It took me longer than ten minutes, and looks a little deformed but overall was a great follow along video.
I found a way to make it take 1.45 hours wooo was my very first project and I completely disregarded the fact that everyone told me not to use fluffy yarn first. Counting is hard and I accidentally made an hendacapus (11 tentacles lol)
That's okay, your second one will be faster for sure! And the more tentacles the merrier I guess!
I LOVED THE RESULT, it came out so cute and you explained it so well, thank you so much🩷😭
I loved this video this is my first project that I was able to finish.😊❤
I loved your tutorial. As a beginner this was the first video that explained what the stitches were, what increasing and decreasing was and I find that super super helpful!! I'm definitely going to be giving your tutorial a try real soon! :)
Awesome to hear!!
i read beginner and didn’t know anything and I’ve been trying to do this for 1 hour and I still don’t know how to make a slip nott
I've been learning crochet fir months & this is the first thing I've totally finished!!! Took much longer than 10 mins but I'll get there!! It was kind of hard to see some of the stitches because of how fluffy your yarn is but I figured it out. Thanks for this!
Congrats, you're doing awesome!! So glad you finished your first project! That's a huge win!
Good video! I started crocheting last month and I finally worked up the courage to try crocheting a plushie. Very easy to follow.
So glad you like it! Thank you so much!
thank youuu so much for your tutorial, it so easy to follow and soooo adorable!!❤️
So happy you like it!! Thank you!
Thank you soooo much for this detailed video. I found crochet hooks at my local dollarstore last week and was super motivated to try and learn how to crochet and make a tiny octopus. After a week of determination and watching your video over and over again, I finally made the cutest little guys. I feel so proud of myself for learning a new skill, I would have given up without your videos / articles online!
That is so awesome! Great job, I'm proud of you too!!!!
i love it was so much fun my grandchild loved it she was able to make it
So awesome to hear!!
I started a few weeks ago at crocheting so I'm not really a beginner, but this only took me 40 minutes to learn (37 mins 39 secs to be spacific) and I'm about to make a second one and thank you so much, this is one of the most clearest tutorial ever, although I had to translate the us terminology to UK terminology it was amazing ❤
Yay, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video tutorial! You'll get faster as you re-work this same pattern! :)
So adorable!! Thank you for sharing! 💜🧶
Absolutely! Happy you like it Sharon!!
As a beginner I love the tutorial it’s really easy and cute
Thank you so much it turned out sooo cute 🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤
Those little octopus are so adorable. I wish I’ll have one.🥰😍
You can make one too!!
Guys this is the BEST tutorial for if your making an octopi army like me!!! 🎉❤😊
Yay!! Happy you like this pattern!
Thank you!
I know this was posted a long time ago, but i decided i want to start crocheting again, and stuffed animals is where im gonna start! This video is super helpful and your voice is so nice! Im so excited ^~^
Yay, have fun crocheting again! It's so rewarding and enjoyable!!
Timed myself, it was exactly 10 minutes (even with my kids distracting me). Thanks for another great pattern! I'm attaching keychains to mine :)
Thank u a lot ❤️❤️❤️
The Best video! And my octo is ready in 15 min 🥰
Omg I haven’t been able to make anything yet and this is the first thing I was able to make thank you so much I just started
So glad you like it! Thank you so much!
It also took me like an hour and a half but this was so helpful. Thank you so much!
Glad you liked it! It'll be faster the next time, now that you've run through it once!
I made loads of these then made some for my friends they liked it so much, thank you for this video it helped me grow my hobby. Sending love to your channel♡♡♡
Awww so awesome to hear! Yay!! Your friends msut be so happy with their octopi!!
@@SweetSofties they sure am♡
This is so great, you show and explain how to do this brilliantly!
Thank you so much!
Just made one of these and they're so cute! It took me about 30 minutes, but I think that's cause I'm using acrylic yarn, so more rows were needed. I did the tenacles different though; I left sixteen chains, chained five, half crochet back into the chain, then slip stiched into the next chain. I did this cause again, I'm using acrylic and the yarn is smaller, so I needed to make the tentacles bigger somehow. Loved this tutorial though! Thankyou so much!
So cool to hear that! Thanks for sharing what you did for the tentacles!!
I learned how to crochet last week and I've now made a mini-army of these in boring lectures. Very beginner-frindly - thank you very much for the pattern and tutorial!
Haha that's so awesome to hear!!! What a productive way to spend your time during boring lectures. :D
Thank u so much that was really helpful and it came out really cute ❤ I'm a begginer and ut took me less than one hour ❤thank you for your hard work
Ahh it looks soo good I really wanna try it when I get the wool the thick wool ill try it!! I bet I can do it because this is a awesome video!!!!!❤️❤️🎉
Thanks, hope you'll have a fun time trying this pattern!! :)
Thank you so much ❤️ So cute. Great tutorial 👍
Glad you like it, thanks!!
I am still pretty new and thus was the best essiest to follow tutorial. Took me 15 mins. M going to make something from all your videos! Thanks!!!
Great job, you!! Happy to hear this!!!
I love this video, thank you so much!
Thank you for this amazing tutorial! I'm a beginner who just learned how to crochet about a month ago so has only crocheted a couple of times, but your tutorial was so beginner friendly that even if I did not know exactly the techniques that you were using, I was still able to follow along and finish in about 25 minutes. It was definitely as great as your own, but I am very happy because it has 8 tentacles, looks like and octopus, and does not fall down ❤
Awesome job! You did great, and I'm glad you enjoyed making your cotopus!!
Thank you so much!! This was my very first amigurami and i love it!! It still looks a little lumpy but still looks very cute!!
Your very first amigurumi? I'm so humbled!!
Thank you, great tutorial! Fast and easy, will be making some for my son’s goodie bags!
Glad you liked it!!
I'm a total beginner and this really took me like 20 minutes. The only thing I've done before this is practiced my double and single stitches 🥹 great tutorial!! 🐙
That’s so great!
Thanks alot. My first octupus was a success . But it took me 20 minutes. Thanks💖💖💖
Awesome!! Your second one will be faster! :)
I made it through the video and the little octopus is complete my tentacles didn’t go very well but I must say it’s amazing 😊
I am making more this time I hope I can make the tentacles better
Yay for finishing!! You'll do it faster and better the second time for sure! :)
OMG, this is so cute! Thank you so much for the tutorial. I cannot wait to make this as a phone charm!
It'd be an adorable phone charm!
Thanks so much! I made the first one pretty quickly! I'm pretty new to amigurumi but I have been crocheting for a long time.
Yay, awesome!! The world of amigurumi is so much fun, hope you'll enjoy more ami patterns!!
Mine ended up with too many legs but I obviously did an increase somewhere unintentionally. Literally my first time with this fluffy yarn and it’s so hard to see. Your tutorial is really good! They are so cute. I’m starting another one…Thank you!
Yay, great job!!!
Process of making this (tries then throws away the phone cries a lil and repeat until u get something out of a horror movie)
I’m almost done and it’s adorable
I made this with embroidery floss, as practice doing micro crochet before trying it beaded. So tiny, and so cute!
Wow that's so awesome to hear! I have never done micro crocheting before!!
I had to change quite a bit of it because of the difference with the yarn. I didn't have a chunky yarn like that, I just make do with what I have 🥹
It turned out so cute! It took me less than 10 minutes to make a second one
Awesome to hear!!! :D
Gonna try this soon! I have never crochet before, will keep you updated ❤
Awesome to hear!! Go you!
I just starting to crochet a few weeks ago and this made me got better❤ i will absolutely try it every day after school❤
Keep at it, your'e doing great!

OMG love your profile @pingpong1265
Love this tutorial really easy to follow and suppor beginner friendly.
This was my second thing I made (like actual thing not variation) and it was very simple. The only annoying thing was that my yarn kept falling off the string it was connected too. But other then that this was very fun and simple!
Good job, wow!! I'm glad you enjoyed the pattern but the problem with yarn falling off is hopefully going to become less of an issue as you crochet more! It might be a tension thing. Not sure!
