I'm not going to Thailand until all that's required is a PCR test prior. Nothing else. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is starting to live with it and only require a PCR test prior, proof of vaccination, or nothing at all. Some countries with only these requirements and no quarantine:
Mexico
Colombia
Ecuador
Cost Rica
Panama
Dominican Republic
Laos (Borders Thailand)
Cambodia (Borders Thailand)
Philippines
Feel free to add to the list. There is no reason why Thailand is still being difficult.

In UK we do not have any more restrictions.
From end of the month if you test positive you don't need to isolate any longer. And Thailand has still got all these documentation and restrictions.
Very few people will come.

Hi Teya, unfortunately for a 3 week holiday, it's just not worth the risk of testing positive on either day 1 or day 5 PCR tests ..... Will return to Thailand once the restrictions are eased like many other countries around the world are starting to do ... Take care.
My daughter was coming here plus husband and 2 children,the cost of the test1+2 is like another air fare and they have there own insurance which they cannot use,its not about being insured at all if it wasn't official it would be a scam,simple as that.Thailand will see less and less tourists that's for sure,it's only retirees and long stay people that will put up with it.Even a month holiday is not worth the hassle,wake up Thailand.
5 day PCR test very risky. As you roam around the city to catch omicron in 4 days. Higher chances to go quarantine. I wait too. October see how.

From February 15 insurance companies will NOT cover you for quarantine if you test positive with no symptoms. And quarantine for 10 days at $65- 220 a day means it is very risky going to Thailand.
I took out a policy with AxA for a visit at the end of April and into may. It still covers me if I were to go to hospital if tested positive with symptoms however, each case is dealt with individually and should you not have symptoms you should be able to stay in your hotel. Extra nights are not covered. On the insurance. It's all in writing on the schedule and as I said covers me after February
@@CoolstixDave I had axa,covered for $100000,from the first aborted visit too Thailand last year,I have just returned too the UK,and yes,I tested positive on arrival in phuket ( no symptons),5 days isolation in the hotel ,( awaiting a room in hospital apparently) 5 days in hospital, yes ,Axa paid the hospital stay,but....hospital needed 50000 baht upfront,which you get back off the hospital when your let out.
Ps loved it,after my initial 10 days,but if your only going for a short visit,I would wait a while if I were you.
I'm keen to visit Thailand. Just need the Visa & Thai pass to be simple :)
@@steveshipley5990 I guess you were one of the unlucky ones Steve. Went in December and had no problems. Also took lateral flow tests on plane prior to arriving and again at hotel as soon as I walked into my room after having my PCR in reception. At least o had something to argue the case should I have had a dodgy result.
I just received my Thailand pass in less than 24 hours 👍. Did it all myself but stressful because worried about something not uploaded correctly or rejected for some Thai reason but I’ve got it 😁😁😁

I have only one thing keeping from going is what if you test positive.... hearing nightmare stories of insurance not covering asymptomatic quarantine. Huge medical Bill for really bad facilities. If you could get a fixed cost and know the facility ahead time so the insurance matches...then I think this would be reasonable.
If you look at AXA all the details are given in writing what is and what is not covered. Don't believe everything you hear. If any medical costs are incurred you would have to pay up front and then claim back from the company

Dont think its going to do any good for tourist Teya i thought Pattaya was quite but i am in Bangkok for a few days and its like a Ghost Town not looking good for Songkran looking like its going to be cancelled again. Tourist are not going to come with these crazy rules check your insurance also!!!

Yes, yes. It took 5 days (5-Feb) for my application to be declined. I reapplied on 10-Feb & 8 hours later....Approved.
I got. My pass rejected on Wednesday and I reapplied on Wednesday and it passed this morning Friday so happy flying in Monday morning 😎

My Thailand Pass is being rejected for insurance. I have Australian travel Insurance with unlimited Covid19 cover and letter stating it meets requirements. Thai Consular General in Sydney have accepted this insurance and issued my 60 day tourist visa and an email saying the insurance is acceptable. Are Thailand pass trying to force to buy another insurance issued in Thailand
I have full global travel insurance including unlimited Covid 19 cover but my initial Thailand Pass application was still rejected stating I had to buy their own recommended (and expensive!) additional 30 day Covid travel insurance policy. Thailand Pass was only approved and QR code supplied once I had agreed to pay 2100 baht for their additional Thai covid policy. Sadly the Thai Govt are more interested in generating cash from commission on selling travel insurance and multiple PCR tests than they are on encouraging the recovery of tourism in the country.

I got Thai pass approval back in 7 hours on the same day I applied . It pays to take your time and prepare your document. I also sent an email to the hotel telling them I had applied.

2.and the hotel reservation ( just be careful about the 5 days: Must be 5 Days, like booking check in on 1.3., than the 2. booking must be the 5th for check in date)
3. When they ask about:1. Arrival Airport and you to Ko Samui, than do not choose BKK, but choose Ko Samui, Or the province of Surat Thani will not be shown!!
Health insurance confirmation in English that 50000 are covered for Covid insurance.
My Thai Pass was here the next day, because my hotel has reconfirmed quickly. 👍🏻

The costs of just entering Thailand today and risk of COVID jail is too high. 10 days quarantine is unreasonable.
I think you have to test again 48 hours before departure from Thailand just to get on the plane heading to Dubai, Emirates airline requirement. What happens then ,is it another ten day quarantine and see if Emirates will put you on another flight. At extra cost I presume.
Hi Teya it's still to much of a risk booking another trip at this time having cancelled for the 3rd time. There are so many people now in hospital or hotels with no symptoms the testing on day 5 is probably the cause of the increase in more people being found positive, also there may be more restrictions coming in the near future as cases are rising everyday ☹️☹️
It is being suggested that those being found positive on day five are not. Some think its a scam.

@@joelnelson6259 Thats what we did, we are lucky to be here for 59 days so from about day 48 we will be ultra careful. We dont want to be missing our flight home. at this time Singapore air require a clear test 48 hours prior.

The biggest problem is the first hotel booking are not answering emails. When my friend in Thailand calls them they just tell her to email it in again. That’s five times now. AGODA customer service is abysmal. Frustrated.
If you are booking your first hotel with PCR tests etc shy are you doing through Agoda? It needs to be a separate booking system altogether

It took a little time to get documents uploaded, but, I received my approval in less than 24 hours. I booked Park Plaza and the booking document were emailed to me with a signature. Not sure if that helped. Good luck to everyone! Tha k you forbade great videos!

My biggest problem was converting all the PDFs into JPEG for the Thailand Pass application. Once uploaded, it took one business day to get my approval. Read everything on the TP website to make sure you send the right documents.
Another hurdle in the way, something else to have to learn to do in the process 🤔🤔

Hi Teya, thank you for your comments, we have just returned from Thailand, myself and wife hid away from crowds, we are both over 65 years of age, we had it was confirmed by our Hotel manager, if we caught, Covid 19, we would be Hospitalised, in a Private Hospital, if you are 60, you will be Hospitalised, for 10 days and, if you are over 65 years of age and over, the Hospital stay will be longer, and the charges are very, very expensive, because this age group are very high risk? please note the Hotel will pass on your credit card details to the Hospital, so you can claim on your insurance later, ? all the new rules are written in Thai, PS our Hotel manager was from a very trustworthy large 5 star group of Hotels, and was also worried this impact would have on themselves,

I couldn’t believe it I gave myself over a week when I wanted to be there for Valentine’s Day it was too close to testing negative from Covid I just got over Covid and I just tested negative finally and I gave myself seven days and he did it in 24 hours it was crazy. If I would’ve known it would’ve been so quick I would’ve applied for the 13th so I could’ve be there for Valentine’s Day

After arrival in Thailand, day 1 & 5 COVID test is too much when u have negative PCR test pre-arrival....

Did you received any email from thailand pass? Did you get access code? If you didn't get anything at all. You made some mistake and you may have to reapply it.

I applied for Thailand Pass (Phuket Sandbox) by myself. I don't recommend people do it themselves. Better to pay someone like yourself to do it for them. It only took 3 days to get the pass. But I think it took me 3hrs to do the application. The main reason it took so long was all my documents were in pdf format. During the application they only allowed JPG and PNG files to be uploaded. I had to convert all my documents during the application and I accidentally closed my browser during the application process so I had to start over . At the end of the application you could upload pdf files but it is limited to 3 files only .And if you think you can skip a upload and fix it with pdf upload at the end. Think again! You must upload a JPG or PNG at each step.
