the only Game which has a better OST/ Sound design (in my opinion) is Oriand the Will of the Wisps by Gareth Coker but I agree the Music in FP2 is stunning good
Makes me wonder what the equivalent of The City Must Survive will be, considering this is effectively The City Must Survive-lite. Whiteouts are just a thing people have to put up with, albeit a dangerous thing.
2:42 This part reminds me a lot of Battlefield 1 Apocalypse DLC's OST, this sinister thudding rather resembles the soundtrack's dark and grim undertone
I have to say, having heard the official version now, I slightly prefer this one. There's a few adjustments to the levels of different instruments, and there's some changes in delivery. Obviously its a lot cleaner and nicer overall, but I really do feel like that lost... something? Maybe it wasn't as perfect a delivery, but that imperfection really added something. It's all super minor in the long run, but 1:30 especially in this version feels like there's almost a hesitation, a forceful weight when the horns enter, like a minute slowdown of the tempo. It really adds some gravitas - a literal depiction of force or fatigue in the effort like the arrival of the storm itself. Clearly everyone performing was savoring the moment as much as we did!
Well they won't do that till the game is released. And they only started to release them after people on UA-cam did it first. So people can at least enjoy the music in meantime before the game will release in July.
It feels odd knowing that a whiteout in this game, what will be a regular occurrence, is the same strength and intensity as 'The Storm' in the first game that you had to be super well prepared for to survive.
Ive played both games, but to both "The City Must Survive" and this made me well up in tears, is a gross understatement. Ive been through a lot of crap growing up. Im through to greener pastures now...but I always had this "Hopeless but defiant" feeling going through it all. Even though everything logically told me it was FUBAR'D, i just couldnt help but say "sod that im gonna try anyway" in spite of all the odds. Ive never been able to define the feeling properly... The City Must Survive & Anger Encapsulate the feeling perfectly. And im grateful the tracks exist.
@@OneAndOnlyUday The steam soundtrack is currently bugged, the best example of this is if you try to play track 19 "The Engine That Keeps Us Alive" which goes for 4:34, it will instead play something that is 1:47 long (Here Stands New London)

Game soundtracks have continued to be more and more amazing woth each year. They really can set the mood and tone of the game.
Whiteout syren is dope asf

The theme in question should be "anger", the civil war theme, but it's nowhere near as close as epic as The city must survive was.
@@escopeteroce To be fair, that's a really high bar.
@@escopeteroce Nah, that brass section in Anger is orgasmic.

1:30 those horns are both epic and dark at the same time. Awesome theme
This game will be the reason I fail business ethics
When the children work in the sweatshops it's not because we want to have cheap labor, it's obviously because we don't want the kids catching a cold.
Just stop calling it child labor and say its early apprenticeship.

It's out now ! The real name of this soundtrack is : The Great Old Enemy
This one has a very dramatic sound to it, also some prison feelings to it, but also grandeur
