It is kinda funny how silver phantom isn't a game but rather a VR movie so I'd assume that it's going to be something like the choose your own adventure shows where you could actually interact with the show
Silver Phantom for me brings to mind a very specific video game from the 90s: Gundam 0079: The War for Earth. It was an FMV game created by US game studio Presto Studios, most likely intended for the Apple Bandai Pippin (due to Presto's history at programming for Apple hardware and animating robots in The Journeyman Project games). It featured a mix of live actors and CG, gameplay as limited as that interactive moment in the Silver Phantom trailer, and it only barely ended up available on Windows PCs and PS1, mostly in Japan. It gives me "so bad it's good" vibes in regards to the acting and costumes, along with the very odd translations, but gameplay wise it barely qualifies as a game. Really didn't expect a followup nearly 30 years later, but hey, why not? Bamco has money to burn, I'm sure.
I watch every Gundam news from the day you started it. Funny thing is, you always says good evening. But I watch it on Saturday breakfast. It’s now become my tradition. Thanks you for your work :)
Huh, with regards to Mabel Lena, there really aren't that many middle-aged or above female pilots in the Gundam franchise. There are some, Lady Prospera was presumably in her forties for instance, but generally the veteran character is in the vein of Ramba Ral.
@@cabnbeeschurgr She's 35 according to the wiki. Which is certainly more mature than most other female MS pilots I can think of. Possibly Amida Arca - from the Turbines harem/crew in IBO - is around that age, but most female pilots don't crack 25.
Edited; Fixy Fix could also be a doctor . Annoyed that the G Gundam manga will only be reissued in Japan. Though that is the crux of being a Gundam fan outside of Japan. Also, I think instead of a Pacman collab, they could have added some G Gundam characters to both Tekken and Soul Calibur.
The mouths look weird genuinely because they move like squares... that's literally it. It's just weird by nature because that. Too bad they had such nice designs inside a VR film, mobile suits/gundam (Genuinely looking forward to any hope of a HG for them even if it may be a metallic injection, because Pale Rider is, and he looks great) and the pilot suits. The helmet looks like a Mjolnir JFO helm. Since we're getting a vaguely Zeta design again, maybe someday Halpuley will get attention... not likely.
the cheapest I could find was Meta Quest 2 for 50000 yen ($317 US), which is even funnier considering that PC gaming isn't really a thing in Japan, let alone VR for it, so I have no idea who this is made for
I’m pretty excited for Silver Phantom, mainly because it will finally give me a reason to use my Quest 2, but I think it should be at the very least an interesting experience
Damn why are the Gundam Crocs only available in kids size!? The way I see it, if you are going to kill your rizz by wearing Crocs, you might as well put it 6 feet under by making them GUNDAM Crocs!

my guess is that HGFC Bolt will be next then a HGFC Dragon Gundam. I've been saying there should've been a HGFC Devil Gundam to compliment then RG God Gundam like what they did for the RG Hi-nu and HGUC Nightingale.
Considering how much Gundam as a franchise has grown over the past few years, it seems very counter intuitive to put it on such a niche (and seemingly dying) platform like VR. It's like they don't want people to see it/play it/whatever you do with this, which also might speak to the quality. It already looks kinda iffy, but since they are past the point of no return (IE contracts that they can't get out of), they might as well put it on a platform that no one will watch it on.
Meta Quest is the most common VR headset and probably sponsored the creation of the movie, I really don't get how people have a hard time wrapping their head around this. It's not like it's the Bigscreen Beyond or Apple Vision Pro or some shit. Millions of people have a Quest 2/3. It's McDonalds not a Michelin 5 Star. Also it looks the way it does because it has to support stand-alone Quest which is a beefed up cell phone processor/igpu with two screens simultaneously at a 90-120 Hz refresh rate.
Not to defend the Silver Phantom trailer, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a matter of the visuals not translating when shown as a normal video and it actually looks better in VR.
I wouldn't say I'm super excited for silver phantom, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm having a lot of fun with my headset, so adding Gundam stuff to that seems interesting. But even if the gameplay isn't super interesting at least I'll get to explore a life sized jegan.
I like how he says the Stormbringer is $47 US, but it's actually $77 US on P-bandai. We get it that you are converting from Yen, but Bandai is not asking conversion prices, they are still charging premium prices.
Because he's simply saying the original price in yen, and what this price in yen roughly equals to american dollars to make the western part of the youtube audience get a grasp on how much approximately that is. The prices the US p-bandai branch chooses to set is a completely different conversation. MG Stormbringer PF costs 7590 yen (plus 660 yen delivery). The regular MG Stormbringer/GM Turbulence costs 6270 yen btw. I haven't built mine yet but the price difference is probably simply due to the amount of plastic in the box. I'm sure the american branch just rounded that price up to 7700 yen, removed the last two digit zeroes and that's how you got the price of 77 usd. I personally use the JP website all the time but I can see the US version of the website too and I have noticed this pricing tendency for many kits. Peopl forget that Japan is the main region so the prices are announced in yen obviously, while the other branches like the US one are just an afterthought since it's not the main market and the demand per capita for this type of hobby is much much lower. So there's a delay in releases and a markup for the logistics of shipping Japanese-market--oriented goods overseas. He won't be sitting there waiting for specific news on prices for the US region (if they even happen at all), while the main Japanese release has already been announced. All the releases on the original Japanese P-Bandai have pretty much the same prices as regular releases. For example, HG Calibarn (regular release) is 2200 yen and the HG Calibarn Permet Score 5 (p-bandai exclusive) is also 2200 yen. It's identical. The only difference you have to pay is 660 yen for the delivery across Japan because they are an online shop exclusive items and, unlike outside Japan, can't be bought new in retail (only secondhand, meaning they were bought by someone else who then sold it to a used item shop). There's no such thing as "premium prices" to begin with. People are basically angry at Bandai itself over nothing. I'm not even starting about how in the US the wages for the same exact positions are like 3-5 times higher compared to Japan, so those higher US p-bandai prices don't really hit the budget. And you have way more free time outside work to actually enjoy life and spend time building what you buy.
@@HaohmaruHL that's a whole lot of unnecessary writing. I understand all of that and appreciate it, but telling the price converted into USD is completely irrelevant when those are not the prices Bandai are changing.
@@Saved_Sinner0085 Ugh, It's because you're having a hard time grasping the fact that not every single person on this planet is living in the US (shocking!) and that people may either be using the non-US branch website or not using one at all. Maybe you ended up thinking that the US pbandai prices are the default prices. In reality, it's the US pbandai prices that are being the irrelevant ones here, since it's just a local markup which won't be a good estimate for the real price of a product for anyone else who watches these videos outside the US. Like, why the hell would I need to know that on the US branch (or anywhere else at this point) they put it up for $77, if it's real actual price is 6700 yen (which is around $47)? Like, yeah, it's price got increased when it got to US. That happened. Congratulations, I guess? The US and the FR branches are also the only non-asian branches of P-bandai too, so it has to ship aaaal across the globe from here. Of course it gets expensive. While most people can't google the prices in yen for a specific kit in Japanese to compare, or may not imagine how cheap or expensive a 5000 yen kit really is, just hearing that 5000 yen kit is "around 30 usd" aids many people as a reference, no? A wider audience understands how much 30 bucks is compared to how much 5000 yen is. Especially if they plan to buy one on ebay or somewhere else later. They could use the original price as reference to see how much they'd overpay and if it's even worth it. The fact that it increased $77 in some other location is only relevant to the population of that specific location like the US, which is only 4%, btw. For the rest of 96% of the population hearing that info would mean nothing. If I wanted to import some hard to find here american-made PC parts I'd obviously would want to know how much they originally costs, because they are often almost twice as expensive here. But since yen is getting weaker I can't keep up with the convention rates, so it would be a pain to Google price convertions EVERY single time I hear it being mentioned in a video. But hearing the prices in yen too help a lot as a reference. Same thing when he doubles the original yen prices in usd. What's so hard to understand here???
Every decision Bandai and Namco and pretty much ALL Japanese media companies make is still somehow rooted in the 1980s.
