An absolute masterpiece of a movie. An epic tragedy of a man trapped inside a machine, trying to regain his humanity, while seeking vengeance against those who took his life from him. Timeless.
A good summary for a funny movie with a sad story lol
It had religious overtones, like a Phoenix rising from the ashes.
A brilliant dystopian, Sci-Fi satire on capitalism, consumerism, and the militarization of the police force. The two sequels that followed were pointless pieces of drek because everything that needed to be said in the first movie already was. The second attempted to copy the format of the first what with the commercials, but it just seemed gratuitous and shallow.
@@robertmcelwaine7024 Albeit it can't touch the original, I really liked the 2nd one. Mean & ugly in tone but terrific action scenes and stop frame motion effects. Part 3:was practically a children's movie 🤣
facts
Peter Weller's performance as Robocop was just as memorable as Arnold in Terminator.
They both really give off a sense of incredible cybernetic power and deadliness.
Sure, but a lot more depth to Rob, though
Rated-R Robocop VS Terminator movie starring Peter Weller as Robocop and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Terminator should be released
@@johnkramer2004 can't see it happening because both actors are too old. It would be even worse for Peter Weller because he'd have to put on that huge suit again
@@rockys201 it was supposed to be released in 90's not now
@@johnkramer2004 but you said it should be made, kinda meaning you want it to be made now, not in the 90s
Those goons have zero self preservation instinct. The best part of this scene is Weller's physical acting, kinda walking forward while striking different poses.
Really love how he always fully extends his arm out when firing the Auto 9. Almost as if to perfectly calibrate every round he will fire and sure he's not wasting ammo.
Robo didn't even need to use his cybernetic abilities here, it was the huge cloud of yeyo he inhaled when he first opened the door gave him the ability to merc 30 guys by himself.
its why he had to take a minute before telling them to come quietly; his machine interface had to adjust to that much dust in his intakes and how dilated his pupils got
@@Coconutszz 🤣
When all your stats are maxed out and replay the first level again.
He's played the level so many times he doesn't even have to look for that one guy.
This was me replaying the first level of Robocop Rogue City on NG+ with the 6.2 PCB Board. lol
You can totally do that now. Robocop: Rogue City is the best follow-up the first two movies ever made.
This scene always gave me chills as a kid
same
Still gives. I am 42 now.
Bone Chilling
It's that part at 0:20 that does it for me. You just watch those targets light up and you know these guys ain't making it.
This scene lives rent free in my memory. It is a masterpiece.
An absolutely masterpiece of that film
My favorite scene when I first saw this. It was a pleasure seeing Robocop rip into Clarence Boddicker
Yeah he sees Clarence Buttfucker for the nutless coward that he really is!
How absolutely terrifying it would be facing something like this. I almost feel for the bad guys.
Only because they're all using low caliber guns against an armor that's as thick as tank plating, if they all had anti-material rifles like the cobra assault cannon robocop would be in real trouble. I mean, the guy has no agility whatsoever (until he got that jetpack in the 3rd film) he'd be turned to scrap in a second
@@jackylee5850its kinda cool the cobra assault cannon predicted modern weapons the chinese developed a sniper grenade launcher that fires the 40x53 hv rounds the same round the mk19 grenade machine gun thats mounted on humvees and it has a computer assist targeting optic just like the cobra assault cannon the chinese literally have cobra assault cannons and they are badass just look up the qlu 11
get ready to dodge a lot a bullets
And they won't even have to use them to invade since Joe will just let them walk in and take over the US@@nikotheophanis8795
Until you realise that at any point they could just put their gun down and leave lmao
This will forever be one of the top three best movie scenes I have ever experienced. So thrilling!
God, I miss the eighties and practical gun effects, squibs, and bloodpacks.
Didn't Kinney alone break the record for most squibs in a movie?

"Ahhh... **** You!" (Shootout ensues)
As a little kid when this came out, I always liked his pistol. It's some sort of Beretta with a 3 round burst.
It is Beretta. Beretta 93R, just modified.
Thanks for responding. I was wondering what it was. @@TheMostSteelDooshbagEver0451
Because ITS a Beretta
It's a Beretta Model 93 Raffica.. A barrel attachment to M93R into a Auto 9.
Amazing physical performance by Peter Weller. Notice how when he shoots, in most cases, he turns his body to the side and throws his left arm back. Exactly like a fencer does to avoid getting stabbed by his/her opponent. Or when he shoots full on he tucks his left arm in. Beautiful movements that become iconic!
This scene alone is better than remake.
The remark SUCKS
As with "Point Break" On general principle I refuse to watch remake of either. You don't mess with perfection
@@fredkeeler12341:31
It kinda doesn't the remake does somethings better than the original but you know why the remake failed because it missed the sheer amount of sheer amount of brutality and satire of RoboCop 1987
@@paulaumentado1588 no, the remake missed the entire point of first movie, had crap script and unnecessary action movie stuff
clarence missed the Tigers game after all
Im so happy I saw this movie at a young age. They say children should not see this kind of movies. I cant agree. You just get a bigger experience.
I saw it when I was 6. Agreed.
A lost art in modern day shootouts...bullet impacts on the surrounding set for rounds that didn't hit their target...every bullet goes somewhere.
Fantastic gun sounds in this scene.

Only RoboCop can raid a cocaine factory without getting high

1:12 He might be an unfeeling cyborg but gotta make a backshoot look cool.
When the ultimate song of justice starts playing in the background, bad guy's bullets have no affect.

They should have created cocaine clouds to district him and to feel like they're going to Heaven when they're dying.
One thing I find hillarious in this scene, all goons die without much noise, but the 01:33 guy cries and yells upon being shot, like if he was saying to the audience "just look at me because I'm about to do something very stupid now", and indeed he did it - his incessant shooting accidentally kills his boss one instant later.

Epic scene from my childhood hahahaha
Second favorite scene in the movie 👍
What was your first?
And the last one "you're fired" its number 1 not???
@@anthonycerulli5524 My first favorite scene in the movie is when Robocop went into city hall to save the hostages from the former mayor, who wasn't so happy about not getting re-elected. Anyway, after negotiations broke down, Robocop punches through the wall and pulls the former mayor through the wall to the other side where Robocop delivers a right punch which sends the former mayor flying out a window. 👊🪟
@@FerGL Actually my last favorite scene in the movie is the fight between Robocop and ED-09.
The Terminator would be proud of his fellow cyborg colleague, and so am I!🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖
I always thought it was cool when Robo Cop busted the door down 👍😀 that was neat. He’s definitely a character they should add to the new GTA update or next game for online or director mode players to get. Really all of them.

During the shootout you can see the difference between boddiker gang and the Italian drug factory gang. Even after the suprise of the indestructibility of RoboCop, boddiker and his men kept their composure while the Italian gang is about to fall into a rout, you can see in their facial expression and their stance that they are frightened and are firing at will. Their aim is poor and their positions are disorganized, the boss in the red shirt behaves like an ordinary gunman and fails to show leadership. On the other hand, Clarence's men rally around him and work together seamlessly.
This leads me to believe if the two did fight and RoboCop didn't show up, boddikers gang will wipe out the Italian drug factory despite being outnumbered.
Those thugs REALLY should've quit while they were ahead. They were more than adequately warned. Had they complied, most of them would've been looking at heavy time for manufacturing narcotics while Clarence Boddicker and two of his henchman would've faced much worse due to what they did to Alex Murphy, namely life with no parole. Detroit, Michigan doesn't have the Death Penalty, so Capital Punishment's off the table.

Everyone be high before they die in this scene
Aww you didn't include the part Clarence (the last man standing) shot one last time and the bullet ricochet of Robocop and actually hits some which sends it flying of on screen. The little fine details in this film, most people dont see or hear.
You would think at some point they would fall back when they realize their bullets have no effects.
Before Iron Man...there was The Terminator and Robocop... they set the table
Damn, they're so armed. Imagine if they all started blasting at some normal guy.
it would look like the beginning of the movie
This is the counterpart to the Terminator's assault on the police station.

Just how many rounds does that pistol hold???
As many as he needs.
I counted 18 or 19 bursts, so at least 54 bullets
Canonically, it carries 50 rounds per magazine.
