Dave has an uncanny ability to take a boatload of crazy thoughts, toss them all into a bag, shake them up thoroughly, then pour them all out in such a way that you can't NOT be compelled to keep watching. He's really one of the best entertainers of the last 50 years.

Always loved the energy and sound of Dave from the beginning. Through time and exposure it became absolutely clear what a well rounded person he is and what a tremendous intelligence, attitude and philosophy of how to approach life David has at the core of his being. This man's life long involvement in art and adventure I find admirable and though it is easy for the shallow to never get past the "over-the-topness" (is topness a word?) it is obvious that Dave has done a tremendous job of balancing both "the extreme" and "his ability to remain grounded" at the same time. I don't worship Dave. I respect the man as well as the artist/performer/entertainer. Thankfully, we finally got our Van Halen back with "Different Kind of Truth"!
His intelligence is just beyond comprehension for most people...

Intelligence? Really? I mean, he’s not some “dumb rock star”, but actually he’s just talking about pretty common sense shit here. But there in lies the problem. Common sense is in extreme short supply these days.
Whenever I'm in a dark place listening to Dave talk about thing helps. I hope at some point I can cheer up and have his mind set haha.

I always knew that David Lee Roth was a smart dude but now i see and hear this guy is one talented dude. Always loved van halen and thought maybe he screwed it up mostly . Now i need to relook at my thoughts as he seems to be the only person in rock left that has any smarts.,

I'm a big (huge) Van Halen fan and I with Dave their studio albums are way better than the Sammy era albums, IMHO. However I like Sammy as a live front-man better than Dave. I don't know how many times I've heard "I forgot the fucking lyrics!" from Dave but I never heard it from Sammy.
That being said, I like this Dave and I agree...he does need his own show. He's a much better entertainer in this venue then on a stage. Showtime or HBO should jump all over this.

First of all.. David is a world citizen... his level of sophistication is not easily won, it's earned with a thousand decadent missions to the corners of reality that almost no one has access to. Dave is a shape shifting scene jumper.. he might even be a time traveler, but to be sure.. he's not a 2D celluloid pinup star. His hairline reflects the angle at which he's met the world.. I think the guy is like a cross between Hemingway and Confucius with a dab of W. Burroughs for good measure.
