Let the woman originally signed to sing the theme from Titanic take you away. There are other opera singers with very good voices, but it seems like they are just singing WORDS & they don't put any emotion or heart into it. (At least the famous ones I have heard.) ONLY when he is singing the more spiritual Christmas carols though, I think. THEN - it captures the TRUE meaning of Christmas - you just feel it in your soul. I was quite disappointed in his trying to do songs like Frosty the Snowman, was it? His voice is meant for the more beautiful songs with drawn out notes I think. Just my opinion though.

He IS the greatest opera singer in my opinion. Not only does he have a great voice (& a beautiful warm depth to it), he puts so much FEELING into it. There are other opera singers with very good voices, but it seems like they are just singing WORDS & they don't put any emotion or heart into it. (At least the famous ones I have heard.) Maybe there are other great ones out there I just haven't heard. (Quite possible.)
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee CHARACTERS - are supposed to be PEOPLE. PEOPLE, HAVE & EXPRESS EMOTIONS! - If you DON'T express any emotion, you are nothing but a cardboard cutout that can be moved about a scene but with little purpose or interest from anyone - because people are bored pretty easily with 1-dimensional characters. No actor in movies or the theatre would ever survive if this was the philosophy they held - because nobody would want to watch them.
I am not saying that this is your fault. I am sure that this is what your director wants & maybe BOTH of you were taught this craziness in your training - which I would have to therefore say was faulted if this is the case. (There are good people & bad people in all professions & anybody that might have taught you & your director this is - well - "faulted".) I am sorry that this is what your director wants. The whole opera would be greatly improved if it didn't rely solely on good voices but on the "whole picture." That being said, I hope that you enjoy your profession. That is always a satisfying thing in life.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee I have seen both movie & stage actors that have stolen the show with just 1 line - because of the way they delivered it & the personality they were able to inject. Everybody would talk about it for a very long time afterwards & it has even "made" some of them. Just something to think about.

Andrea Bocelli singing Christmas is also stunning.
ONLY when he is singing the more spiritual Christmas carols though, I think. THEN - it captures the TRUE meaning of Christmas - you just feel it in your soul. I was quite disappointed in his trying to do songs like Frosty the Snowman, was it? His voice is meant for the more beautiful songs with drawn out notes I think. Just my opinion though.
