Skyrim Battles - Haknir Death-Brand & Crew vs. Brynjolf & Mercer, and Ahzidal

- Avast ye! Haknir Death-Brand is a unique ghost pirate captain in Solstheim. In his tomb, intruders can find extraordinary treasure, but they also have to fight Haknir and his undead crew. In this video, a few characters accept the challenge. Let's see if they're worthy or just lily-livered landlubbers!
Haknir himself is a formidable foe. He truly deserves the rank of Captain and the right to command his crew, unlike some other bosses who can't even match their generic counterparts (Harkon, we're looking at you).
Most of his pirates are similar to generic leveled bandits with poor equipment. A single one isn't strong, but together, it takes a lot of power to defeat all of them.
There are only two rounds in this episode because the whole fight takes a long time. There are lots of crew members, and some are a bit tanky. Even Ahzidal with his high damage and area of effect can't make quick work of all of them. Other Dragon Priests probably wouldn't stand a chance; Dukaan can't damage the ghosts due to their frost immunity, Zahkriisos lacks the damage and ability to hit multiple targets at once, and generic Priests would be even worse.

Wish this was longer😭 but I understand this is a very long fight😅 either way this was a treat to watch I loved it but again it would've been so much cooler if there were more fights❤ but haknir and his crew are pretty powerful so not many could survive this fight anyway

Good job by Ahzidal even though it got pretty close there at the end. Mercer did better than expected but was also helped by the absorb life enchantment of his sword.
When Haknir attacked him at the end, I had no idea who was going to win! 😂 Yup, Mercer's sword was a big deal. They survived longer than I thought

@@Lightning37clips Yup, all NPCs will prefer attacking any other opponents if one is in bleedout mode. Honestly gets annoying, but that's the way it is 🤷

AHZIDAL!!!!! Proving the power of magic. Imagine if he had healing spells too.
For real! Dragon Priests with healing spells would be interesting, yes! Maybe a bit too strong 🤔
@lSlendermaster you know a video idea is if you add stream spells to archmages.
Y'know Bethesda made the mage npcs weak on accident. Like the way ebony flesh works is 100 + 100(mage armor 1)+50(mage armor 2)+50(mage armor 3). Archmages only have the last rank of mage armor meaning their ebony flesh is only 150 power instead of 300 like it should be. This allows melee fighters to pummel them too quickly if they get close.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the reason Mercer can swing so fast is because when Duel-Wielding, the speed of your attacks is determined by the weapon in your Off Hand. Since Mercer has a Dagger, that means he can swing even the Sword in his Main Hand with the same speed you could a Dagger in-game.
Whereas Deathbrans has 2 Swords. Meaning his attacks are just slightly slower than his, even if they technically hit harder on average.
I tested this and its kinda true. The combined power attack in particular goes off really fast using a dagger.
You're right! Mercer has a pretty good combo. I've also seen it with Forsworn Briarhearts; those with one sword and one war axe are much better than those with two war axes 😄
The Pms00 guide from back in the day on dual wielding is probably still one of the best skyrim dual wielding break downs you can find. And that was from the 360 days. I still watch his stuff even though he hasn't uploaded in a decade.
@@LiterallyWho1917 I didn't quite know how good dual wield is until I tried it with Elemental Fury 😂
@@lSlendermaster You can chain cast it too with Necromage Vampire and a single amulet of Talos. You can also do the warewolf/vampire lord glitch to wear multiple amulets of Talos to essentially have zero cooldown on shouts but at that point you're just breaking the game lol.

Mercer only uses it if he's low enough on health, but if he dies quickly enough, he can't use it 😂

Actually not as complex as I thought, but Ahzidal kept getting stuck in the corner (like at 5:30). It was still more difficult than the normal videos though 😂
Poor Brynjolf just tryin to stand up. Meanwhile Mercer was doing most of the work.
I was also wondering if you could do the Gauldurson trio Vs. various other stuff? ( basically anything you want )

I want to do that, but I'm not sure how exactly. There are two possibilities: Either having NPCs fight them in Reachwater Rock, going through the actual boss fight. I've tried that, but there were too many issues so it's not practical at the moment.
The other way would be having the Gauldurson brothers without their scripts, so without any teleporting, and all of them at once, like a normal battle. This would definitely be doable, but it feels a bit underwhelming. What do you think?
@@lSlendermaster Hmmm.. I feel like all 3 together should be pretty fair against stronger opponents, though the actual bossfight version not being possible is a bit sad. But I feel like it doesn't matter too much to me which one is done, I do truly just want to see how powerful the Trio is, they usually give me a fair amount of trouble. Anyway, I look foward to your future content, very entertaining.

So are the enemy characters universally better than the friendly characters? It seems like Brynjolf was awful compared to Mercer.
Its because then our character wouldn't have to do anything in Gameplay 😂
Pretty much, yeah. Many enemies are stronger than friendlies/followers for balancing reasons. There are some exceptions, such as Frea and Ralis, who are pretty good. But yeah, Brynjolf doesn't compare to Mercer 😂
