Skyrim Battles - Nightlord Vampire vs. Ancano, Isran, Otar, Nightmaster, and more

- Nightlord Vampires are the strongest non-boss vampires in Skyrim. They're more aggressive than Nightmaster Vampires, so I was curious to see them fight different strong opponents.
Because Nightlords have a more offensive combat style than Nightmasters, I wanted to see how they do against each other.
Nightmasters have more health, magicka, and stamina, but do exactly the same damage per hit as Nightlords, with both magic and melee (provided they use the same weapon). In this video, both are Bretons and have the same resistances and equipment, to make for a fair comparison.
I did 100 rounds of Nightlord vs. Nightmaster. The Nightmaster won 74 times, and the Nightlord won 26 times.

I didn't expect Isran to go down like a punk so quickly!
Isran is pretty weak, and he definitely doesn't stand a chance against a Nightlord! 😎
@@lSlendermaster I guess quest NPCs are weaker than generic versions, Harkon is also weaker. Maybe for balancing late game.
@@MrFantocan A lot of them are weaker, yes! It's definitely for balancing reasons, although some of them are pretty pathetic and should be stronger
This is one of the selling factors of the Requiem mod for me. All the important NPCs are beefed up according to their lore. Requiem Isran could even occasionally hold up against Ebony Vampires.
@@heavenlysteel8337 Ebony Vampires? Are those new in that mod?
Looks like Isran was careless and sloppy with that vampire.
He's dead.
The last part got me 😂
“There is no adversary more deadly than a vampire”
Well Jenassa, you haven’t met Vendil Severin yet.
Truuue! 😂
dark elves dont give af
The way Savos Aren just turns his back and dgaf walks away. 💀
Surprisingly smart! 😂
I think she could have beat the arch pyro and cryomancers if she would have went after the pyromancer first. Also, who doesn’t love seeing Ancano’s smug head cut from his body?
Yes, exactly! The outcome of the cryomancer/pyromancer round really depends on who she focuses on first. And seeing Ancano getting destroyed is always satisfying! 😆
Fire is really strong againts vampires
@@dje7917 Yeah, which is why she lost, but she had enough toughness to her, that if she took out the pyromancer first, she wouldn't have been getting hit by fire as long, and would have been able to handle the remaining cryomancer.
Otar could have won if the battle was in a wider area, and Karstaag's glitchiness cost him an easy victory.
Otar is pretty bad, he really didn't stand a chance. In a larger arena, the Nightlord would have used power attacks more, which would have been worse for him. 😆 And I don't think Karstaag would have won even without those few glitchy seconds, but it was unforunate to see, yeah
I really liked this video! I expected Vendil to dominate with dual blades as usual. The one that surprised me was Karstaag, for several seconds he just stood there taking hits....like bruhhh 🧐🧐. The bloopers was great 🤣😂🤣😂 that head just rolled perfectly onto the bookcase
Thanks, I'm glad! 😁 Vendil is truly a beast. Karstaag tends to glitch out sometimes, sadly. 😅 Luckily, he recovered. It usually takes much longer, if he does at all. 😆 Yes, the Nightmaster has good aim! 🤣
@@lSlendermaster Vendil team with marcurio/illia and riekling charger sounds like a sweep imo
@@hizumi8983 That would be a hell of a team! 😂
It used to be "I'll mount your head on my wall". Now it is "I'll put your head on my bookshelf".
That should be a quote! 🤣
Nightlord and Nightmaster are extremely arsenal'led (if they is such a word) and powerful. How close their fight was even shows that point.
You're completely right! And I like this word 😎
Invisibility scene was epic 🔥
Thanks! 😁
That last one was VERY dramatic
I loved the stomps! 😂
The Dawnguard is full of oafs.
Especially Isran 😂
5:38 That music cue was epic and did not go unnoticed.
Awesome! 😎
The video i was waiting for! Thanks bud
I remember! You're very welcome! 😁
*Vampire kills the most infamous modern vampire hunter* *Emotes*
Heard they're reforming the Dawnguard. Well, nevermind 😆
Wow this one was diffrent and even more legendary
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🥳
Vendil Severin hittin the Beyblade on her for the finishing move was a hell of a flex
Let it rrrip!
The way the vampires at the end just casually assumed normal NPC behaviour made me laugh more than it should have…
“Out of the way, meat!” 😂
They truly fear nobody! 😂
Isran, how could you! We were all hoping for you....
I think Isran is more of a talker than a fighter 😆
great intro great edit great fights! also the last stuff in the vid was funny ha!
Thank you very much!! 🥳 Yeah, that really needed to be part of the video!
The start quote makes me want to pretend im watching with my current follower
Serana? 😆
@@lSlendermaster lmao barely ever, only when she forces me to only have her. Current follower would be Eola or Sven.
@@hizumi8983 Interesting choices! Why those in paticular?
@@lSlendermaster Eola is all around op (magic melee bow)(fireball, lightning bolt, flame atro is basically a second mage that she always has out. Breton resistance plus light armor makes her fast agressive and unflinching.) Mysterious and powerful af, little interest for people and always would have something snarky/sarcastic/cynical/insightful to say. Shes the kind of follower who would do her own thing if she wasnt especially interested in what youre doing, will occasionally disappear and reappear a week later with new gear and skulls on her belt. I use her when I want a comrade who can fight dragons/undead/bosses looks good in all light armor whos character isnt dependant so they arent in the way and allows for more dynamic roleplay.
Sven is like a little bro who looks up to me but we grow together on becoming stronger, hes a good follower because he IS the gear you give him. When I want to do a solo dungeon but want a follower I bring him, or even a harder dungeon/Boss where I want to do most of the work or want multiple follower hes my go to option. Its really funny watching a fully geared sven fighting off falmer with a greatsword, wacky staves and valdrs lucky dagger/mehrunes razor. He can duel wield if you give him a picckaxe idk if thats everyone or because hes a lumberjack but my fav thing abt him I wish I had mod of or saw more is he once started playing his fulte randomly in my vanilla xbox360 game when i was afk in dungeon and I keep him with me every now and then hoping he does it again.
@@hizumi8983 I see. 🤔 I rarely meet anyone who would pick them, but I get what you mean! Most people seem to prefer Faendal over Sven because he has a bow by default. I usually don't use followers because they always get hit by my shouts and spells, and two Dremora Lords usually are enough. 😆
Ancano got ahead of himself, isran got put to sleep in front of the fireplace, Otar the mad became otar the helpless, another vampire of all things made the nightlord vampire relax in front of the fireplace and the night master vampire put her head on the bookshelf..I guess the other vampires are supposed to read her mind.😂😂
Nice summary! 😂
Isran really embarrassed himself and the dawnguard in that one. Also made me think that storming castle volkihar could be another one of the progressive difficulty/ stage clearing format videos you’ve started doing.
He really did. 😂 Castle Volkihar would be difficult to balance, but it's not totally off the table 🤔
@@lSlendermasterecause all those named vampires have no level cap right. (Found that out the hard way)
@@dingbat19 Yup, exactly. 😂 Except for the Harkon family, ironically. Sounds like you had a great experience 😆
@@lSlendermaster I’d say either match the level of the opponent or hard cap them at like 50 or 80.
@@howboutdemap1es225 I used to cap Falx at level 100 for a video, but with that many NPCs, that would be too much, you're right 🤔
Nice one. Something I've always wanted to see, kind of an unusual thing, but here goes: Arngeir vs. Tolfdir. Battle of the old men. Greybeard vs mage with a white beard. They have similar names. Always wondered who would come out on top. Maybe there could be other matchups too. A tournament of magical old men. Throw Esbern, Festus Krex, Calcelmo, and whoever else in there too. I think it could be fun.
Thanks! 😄
I don't think I'll make an episode with them because I find them rather boring, except for Arngeir himself. The problem with him is that he staggers every few seconds with his shouts, which is really annoying to record and watch. I've made the four Greybeards fight the Ebony Warrior in an earlier episode, and it was nothing but stagger spam 🤷
@@lSlendermasteri wish arngeir had something like ebony war axe to use in a battle instead of stupid punches and used ice form less frequently. He would be OP as he should be and it would feel much more authentic
@@kemalturgut9127 The Greybeards aren't fighting in the game at all unless they get assaulted, so it makes sense that they don't have any weapons 😄
And whoever wins gets the grandpa of the year award
@@jonathansnyder5307 Yes! 🤣
I think Savos may had chance if they fought in open plain.
Maybe, but I want to give melee NPCs a chance as well. I hate it when they can't even get a single hit down, very boring to watch. 😂
The bloopers are hilarious lol 😂
Weird stuff happens in the lands of Skyrim! 😂
@@lSlendermasteryeah really!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Blooper 2 was not a blooper. It was a trick shot! 😂
Truuue 😂
Isran and Ancano got embarassed. Its hilarious when random NPCs are stronger than named characters especially ones like Isran who is supposed to be these vampire slaying beast.
Totally agreed! Especially those that we can't stand. Ancano, looking at you!
I call for a rematch with isran otar and the arch mage 🤓☝️
Why exactly? 😅
So Basically, the nightmaster would win the majority of the fight but the nightlord would definitley give the nightmaster a run for his money, they seem to be near equals.
Yes, they're pretty close! The Nightmaster has more health, stamina, and magicka, but the Nightlord has a more aggressive combat style when going for melee. They do the exact same damage with all attacks, both magic and with their weapons, so those small differences matter a lot 😄
Those bloopers at the end of the video and the fights are kind of legendary!😂😂😂💥👌
Just Skyrim things happening 😂
It would be great if you used different races of Vampires like Altmer, Dunmer or Nord.
I usually focus on the same individual throughout the entire video to have a better comparison. I used a Breton Nightlord because she's the most balanced with the overall magic resistance. Although, maybe I should have added other races in the final round, that's a fair point 🤔
Also their design is so much nicer than the nightmaster vampires. I don't know why male vampires have to just be ugly but not intimidating looking either in bland outfits
Totally agreed! I really don't like this bat-like look added with Dawnguard. It was much nicer before. I think vampires are supposed to only have a subtle visual change, since they should be able to blend in with normal people
@@lSlendermaster Yup. We got robbed of a handsome vampire prince!
@@Supcharged True! 😂
@@lSlendermaster I use cosmetic vampire overhaul mod. Highly Recommend it.
@@puddingface1902 I avoid NPC overhauls for my videos because it woud look unusual to most people, I'm guessing 😅
Vendil is Stronger With his Clothes!
Um, what? 😂
Because the outfit he wears originally doesn’t protect him at all.
@@H.K.5 Yeah, so he's stronger with armor instead of clothes 😆
@@lSlendermaster No!
Why do the Nordic vampires still take frost damage from karstaag?
I don’t think they’re Nords, I think these particular ones are Bretons
@@Josh97549 Yeah, they are Bretons! 😄
You should have kept the head on the book shelf
The battle itself wasn't very good. The whole fight needs to be decent, not just the ending, which is why that is only a blooper 😄
@@lSlendermaster that’s true. But it was a very mortal kombat style fatality though
@@jonathansnyder5307 I have never played any of those games so you can probably judge that better than I can! 😂
I swear to god I hate vendil with a passion
Welp, this episode might not be satisfying for you then 😂
@@lSlendermaster it was ! Just don’t like seeing him that much dude is a nightmare to fight without the proper gear ! Lol anywho good series ! Hmm do I take it one of the mages will be next ?
@@TonyThaGamer-t4q Fair enough! 😂 Thank you! 😁 The next video will be my second survival episode, so a bit of a special 😎
@@TonyThaGamer-t4q just paralyze him with the dozen of ways available.
Serpent Stone, Paralyze spell, Paralyze Master Melee Attacks, Bow's Paralyzing Shot, 1st word Ice Form, Paralysis poisons, Paralyze weapons and more.
Derrotar a Karstaag les costó 4 bajas confirmadas, adicional siempre me he preguntado como se llamará ese hechizo de Isran para envolverse en luz...
I was a bit surprised Karstaag lost, but it was not an easy fight. 😂 Isran's spell is called Stendarr's Aura 😄
@@lSlendermaster Genial ese hechizo me llamó la atención
@@johncastillo5031 It looks pretty cool!
Can 6 of them beat ebony warrior like that?
I think so, because he probably couldn't deal with the stagger. Even 5 might be enough 🤔
Sunlight magic is so busted; It doesn’t do nearly enough damage to vampires to be worth it. You’re better off using fire magic😤
I don't think I ever used it aside from testing, so you're probably right 😂
Kaarstag spammed that stomp bullshit 🤦♂️😂
And he still lost 😆
I have to say, I wasn’t impressed by Karstagg’s performance.
The Nightlords are no joke, and them being Bretons on top of vampires makes them very resilient against his frost damage. Unless you mean the part at the end where he stopped attacking for a few seconds, that was bad 😂
@@lSlendermaster Yeah he didn’t do much in the fight and he just stood there after stomping the ground several times. I’m guessing the area was too small for him.
@@H.K.5 Karstaag often glitches out even when there's enough space. It's a common issue with him 🤷
Make all the characters fight that @fuggemuppet suggested as best dead thralls🤩
Hmm, which ones are those? 🤔
Como haces para que las barras flotantes esten todo el rato y no desaparezcan? Yo me pongo en sigilo y desaparecen!
Are you sure you're using the same mod? It's the Floating Healthbars on Nexus, for Skyrim SE (not AE) 🤔
@@blaxerrr Ah, I see! Yes, I usually hide somewhere in a corner.
There is a config file that comes with the mod. For me, it's located in "Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Interface\exported". I don't know if the directory is different in AE.
Open the "hud_extension_config" file in a text editor and scroll all the way down. The "flags" there can be used to hide details like name, level, or the healthbars altogether. If you want them to be active at all times, you can choose "flags = 64", which should fix your problem!
I expected more from Otar
Nightlords are very strong, especially with melee 😎
@@lSlendermaster true but i'm on the Dragons side and a Fan of the Dragonpriest (sorry for my Bad grammar)
But it Look Like He was Stuck or was i seeing thinks?
@@voidghidorah9729 Fair enough, and it's alright!
Otar did what most mages do against melee opponents; backing up into a wall. Ironically, the named Dragon Priests are worse than the generic ones because their staves do less damage, and most NPCs in the game have terrible aim with concentration spells.
On the other hand, Otar has 25% elemental resistances (from his mask), as well as 10% magic resistance (like most Dragon Priests), so it was a pretty balanced battle overall 😄
@@lSlendermaster true but who is the strongest of the named Dragonpriest? Do you know that?
@@voidghidorah9729 Does Miraak count? If not, either Ahzidal or Dukaan, depending on whom they're fighting. 😄
As for the Skyrim Priests, it's hard to tell. They're very similar. I'm pretty sure Krosis is the weakest, and Otar might be the strongest because of his elemental resistance. A generic unmasked Priest without a staff would probably do better though.
Dragon Priests are generally very hard or impossible to test properly because of their horrible AI, which is also why I rarely use them
Rare Karstaag L.
6 Nightlords are too much even for him 😆
@@lSlendermaster i kinda had a feeling it was gonna happen.
@@SubjectiveCinema I honestly like that he didn't win here, because he usually does in my videos, but I don't want it to be too predictable 😆
I wonder how you put the moderator and referee voice of mortal combat on skyrim?🤔😂
{Round one,,, fight}😂👍
I found the voiclines online and added them in my video editor 😄
Alright, I had a serious question! And that is how you made all the characters in the game killable? Because this is exactly what I have been looking for,! And for years.!🤔😧😒
There are several ways to do that. 😄 The easiest is making them unessential.
To do that with commands, you need the Base ID of a specific NPC. For example, Savos' ID is 1c19f. The command "setessential 1c19f 0" will make him mortal; the 0 at the end means he's not essential anymore.
After that, Savos will be vulnerable from that point, but not anymore if you reload an older save.
You can achieve the same thing by using a modding tool like SSEEdit and removing the "Essential" flag in Savos' properties. The command is faster, but modding it out instead will make it permanent, and affect all your saves.
It's different if an NPC has the "Protected" flag, like many followers do. You can't remove it with commands and need to use SSEEdit or something similar.
I myself use an ini tweak so all essential and protected NPCs still take damage and can die when low on health. The advantage is that this affects *all* NPCs in the game and you don't have to make them unessential one by one. 😄
