I was facing divorce and thought if I get a face lift, liposuction I would stay married. The plastic surgeon listened to me, gave me plenty of tissue while I cried telling him of my broken marriage he told me that he could only fix cosmetic things but not heal my heart. He asked me to wait six months as I did and still have not had any procedure. Happily divorced living my best life wrinkles and all. 💃🥂

I saw her case on Botched. They were finally able to help her. She has much more confidence now. Back in the 80s and 90s, a lot of transgender people had to get treatment on the black market for lack of doctors who took gender dysphoria seriously. If you've watched enough of these videos, you know how dangerous these back alley "treatments" are.

We really need to focus on helping people to accept and love themselves and the identity which was dealt to them, rather than feeding into their dysmorphia. I understand that's a very tough pill for some to swallow. (It's hard for me to accept that I'm 5' 5" and balding, but denying it won't change my genetics). I had to simply learn to love and accept myself. We can't change certain things about ourselves, and good emotional health begins by working toward this acceptance.

When done by actual professionals and not on the black market, it's been proven that transition is the best way to treat dysphoria. Conversion therapy like you're suggesting only increases suicide rate. Transitioning doesn't "feed into" dysphoria, it resolves it.

I wish that people wouldn't put so much pressure on transgender people, especially transgender women, that they HAVE TO have plastic surgery to reshape their faces if they want to transition. Plastic surgery should always be something that is made by an educated choice on the part of the patient, without a pressure to feel that they HAVE to do it, especially when transgender people already have so much stress on them about what they must do in order to be who they are. I am not against plastic surgery at all; I am against the kind of pressure that makes people feel like in order to transition they have to consider having an unlicensed "doctor" work on their face in a motel. If my memories are correct, Rajee explains in the episode that when she was young, blackmarket injections were a common thing in the trans community, because people didn't have much money, were often rejected by doctors or didn't want anyone to know, so they chose discrete, illegal and cheaper options.
Dysphoria can be a painful thing and I understand how one would risk anything to be themselves and live a full life. What happened to her is terrible though and the only one to blame is the person who injected dangerous products for money.

They use stuff that's cheap, easy to use/access. And it's gonna look good for a while so that tricks people into thinking it's safe and a good idea to go back and get more done. Which is why it causes so many issues people think it's safe and has no negative impact.
