- Today we installed some new electronics on the 2021 Bass Tracker Pro Team TXW 175! Went with a 12" Lowrance on the console and a Garmin Vivid sv9 on the bow! Pretty lengthy setup, but for the most part not to difficult of a installation. Let me know if you have any Fish Finder installation questions, thanks for watching!

Let me know what you guys think about the new fish finders!
Your install video was a big help, it’s a little intimidating tearing into a brand new boat not knowing how they are pieced together, thanks dude!
At the 16:23 mark, im having a hard time finding that 12v wire. I heard you say it was hard to get to, do you have any tips on tracing it down? I have a 2023 model foot tray and front panel are removed and only see the group of cable sleeves.
Great! The help is much appreciated; especially, the tip on how to route the transducer cable under the throttle console.
🤙🤙
I bought that same Ram Mount for my 12" Garmin and the plate that attaches to the gimbal bracket was to small and the unit vibrated like hell. I changed over to the larger 11" plate and all is well now. I did the same with the 10" Garmin on the deck. The larger plate makes all the difference in the world, especially if you run rough water.
Thanks fellas... Very helpful and informative. I'm upgrading my 175 as well. This definitely saved me some time and headache. I'm subscribed.
🤙🤙
Guys, they make a puck for the Ram mount to fish the wires under it. No need to drill that slot. Also, if you have an existing transducer wire running from transom, before you pull the old one through, tie a small string or rope to it and pull that line through so you don't fight the new transducer wire. Just put it on the rope and pull it through and you're good to go
Good to know!
not mine --- somehow they run the old TD wire up around the shifter and put a screw right on it -- its wasn't moving no mater what I wound up having to cut it out
Other than the Ram Puck with wire holes, there’s also a hooded port available. You drill a hole big enough for a connectors to the unit, drill holes for cover and fill hood with silicone before you screw down the hood. Very professional appearance. I second the fact they pulled the transducer wire out of the console sleeve without a pull cord. I’m still tripin’ on that!
Next they didn’t mention you need to disconnect the battery BEFORE you wire in the unit!
And finally, the excess front transducer wire should go in the slot where the power wire comes out of. Then you have four to six inches of transducer wire right behind the front unit OR a hole in the bottom of the foot pedal pan and run the wire back to come out right beside the power wire - behind the unit.
Final/Fiinal Fill the rear transfucer screw holes with silicone and dip the screws in silicone before screwing them in. Same with any new or added wire lamps you put in the transoms. Zip tie transducer wire along steering cable.
I’m OCD - I like a 100% professional job. Maybe they did some of these steps and left them out.
That’s why I like to do jobs myself.
was the same way on my 170 --- they put a screw right through it.......
Thanks for sharing! I just did the 9" Lowrance at the helm, and am planning to move the factory 5" unit up to the bow. Good to know there is some existing wiring available up there for it. Maybe a project for next weekend.
For sure!
I am about to do this exact thing when my boat comes in, thanks for the great video
My friend has the same boat I’ll send him your video. Great job bro!!
🤙🤙
Awesome I have exact same boat and doing the same install😂 life is good
Great information, going to try and install 12 inch lowrance on my tracker pro 190tx
Nice!
Thanks guys! Great install
Thanks 🙏
Nice, are you able to provide the part number for the lifting bracket for the Lowrance on the console. I am going from the 5" to a 9"?
Great video man ! Thank you.
Ya buddy!!
thanks for the info on the seat -- looking to do an instal on mine when the boat comes in -- going with the Garmin at the console - just a 9 inch I think ---- still liking the boat???? im upgrading from a 170 to the 175
Yes, still have it too! Put on live scope recently
@@BentRodBassin glad to hear it! I keep going back and forth with with 190 but can't convince myself that the extra foot is worth the 3-4K it runs I know bigger is better but still gotta tow it, park it and 175 seems like a really good size
@anonimous596 ya also the 175 fits in my garage!
@@BentRodBassin not mine its about 4 inches to long but I have a good covered place to keep it on the side yard
Did you leave a loop in your transducer cable on the trolling motor shaft to allow the motor to turn?
Yes, about a 4” loop/hump.
Where did you run your front power cord wire, path and connection point?
So it's ok to run transducer with with electrical??
This might be a stupid question but when your trolling motor head spins around, doesn't the transducer cord get wound up and pulled tight. I have a Terrova and sometimes on spot lock the head spins all the way around.
No, the wire is installed on the front so it never binds.
Hey I was curious since it's been awhile since this video come out, how well does the Garmin 9sv work being on the trolling motor. I have a 7 inch I was thinking about putting on the bow of my boat. Wasnt sure how well it would work being mounted to the trolling motor because of the side vu.
The side view works excellent on the trolling motor 🤙
My elite 9 came with a fuse (3 amp), do I need that if I have existing power wire hooked up I didn’t see the install of that fuse in video ? Thanks
Thanks for the info.. added a Garmin on mine this weekend.. unit won’t power up.. step 8?
Maybe a bad ground?
Did you run a online fuse to that upfront or just straight to the wires. Getting ready to attempt it. Thanks
Strait wire, worked perfect!
@@BentRodBassin thank you. I'm going to try it.
Hello, did you just drill through front plate and use bolts for the Garmin?
Yes, tapped into the front panel.
I have a very similar setup and I’m thinking about adding a Humminbird unit at my dash in addition to the Lowrance. I haven’t been able to find a single video on UA-cam showing what happens if you mount two different brands of side imaging transducers on the transom. I’m sure there’s potential for interference, but if I run the Lowrance at 800mhz and the Humminbird at “Mega”, think it would work?
I think u should be fine, I haven’t experienced any frequency interference, but it is possible.
You are two great guys and did a super job showing how to do this.
But I have to be honest with you. Putting those silver, long ass screws in the ram mount was about is half ass as I’ve ever seen anything done! Most people with a new boat got to that point, and turned it off. Who the hell would spend 1500 or $2000 on some electronics and then be too cheap to buy three dollars worth of black high end fasteners?
Works like a charm 🤙
Have you done a live scope for that exact same model boat
Not yet
My apologies if you covered this. I'm working and listening at the same time. Why did you choose the two units you chose, other than screen size?
Price at the time, they were both on deep discount sales.
@@BentRodBassin AH! I was expecting some deep explanation about features and such. Price will do it!!! :) Mine is coming with two 5 inch; the bow is SplitShot and console is TripleShot. At least I've got that going for me. I'll be upgrading eventually, but right now it's hard to tell the wife that I want to spend even MORE money.
I hear ya! Adds up quick 🤑
@@BentRodBassin Haven't been able to put the boat in the water due to weather, and I'm already annoyed with BPS. It took 3 days to find out exactly which Lowrance that put on the boat (want to sell it). Boat is offsite. When I finally visited the boat, found out they were wrong; PLUS, they installed the Tripleshot on the bow with a Splitshot Trans, and the Splitshot at the console with a Tripleshot trans.
Not a big deal, I know. Just doesn't give me a warm fuzzy before the boat's even wet.
Take care!
I have Tracker Pro Guide 175 that came with same Lowrance fish finder from factory but I want to upgrade to Hook Reveal 7 Tripleshot, do you think I can re-use the same wires? TIY
It’s possible, if the connect. Depends on the transducer config.
How long does it take to install everything? 2:14
next time when you pull the old wires out attach a small cord or rope to the wire. now when you pull the wire out the small rope will also come with the wire and when it comes time; attach the new wire to the rope and pull the new wire back through...and there you go
How easy is it to tap into the power wires in the bow of the boat? I have the same boat and thinking of installing a Lowrance Elit FS 7 in the front.
Super easy, there are wires pre-ran to the bow, open ready for electronics.
@@BentRodBassin Okay thanks, I will try this next week. Your video gave me the confidence to give a whirl. New owner since April and loving this boat but want to start making a few upgrades. I will look through for more of your videos on Tracker Pro boat upgrades. Thanks again.
Have any issues with trolling motor interference on the garmin? I installed the same unit and have the same boat. Getting interference for about 10 seconds every time i hit the
Power on the trolling motor.
No, maybe you have a bad ground?
I've got a 175 TF. I want to network two Helix 7's (Console to Bow). How/where should I run the ethernet cable from the bow to the console (or wherever I will mount the ethernet switch)?
Should run along the driver side, or connect via Wi-Fi
@@BentRodBassin When you say right side do you mean under the rail? There is space there I could run a wire. Or maybe run it through the right-side rod locker? Or some other way? Since the breaker is under the console, does power run from the console to the front of the boat along the rights side which could give me a path?
Under the rail would be easiest, protected and hidden. Should connect up under the console at that point.
@@BentRodBassin Seems like the easiest solution depending on where I mount the ethernet switch. I'll be connecting i-Pilot from the Ultrex trolling motor as well. It would seem, then, that the best place for the switch could be at the bow. I haven't torn that apart yet to see how much room I have though... Thanks.
Worst case scenario would be to mount the switch under the console. It really depends on how much space I have up at the bow after I remove the cover. But, In that case I would have to run two ethernet cables. One for the trolling motor and one from the Helix back to the switch. I'll have to check to see if two cables could run under the rail. I think that I would have access to the under area of the console under the right instrument cluster. Thanks for your help.
Thanks
How long did it take to put that in?
About 3 hours
Is there a fuse on the bow? When replacing I get no power my new garmin. I have the tournament edition though. Replacing the lowrance
There was no fuse, just wires from the console fuse block.
@@BentRodBassin is it possible I blew it on the fuse box
@@BentRodBassin do you know where those pre power wires run too
@@erichsandler1869 definitely possible
@@erichsandler1869 they should run to the fuse panel , then that should connect to your batteries
I feel like this is a silly question. I’ve watched every video out there on this and no one is mentioning it. So it must be obvious. When you tap into the bow wires, Are you disconnecting from the battery first?
Yes, it’s a good idea too
@@BentRodBassin are the bow wires from the trolling battery or the starting battery? - been told its bad to run FF from the trolling battery...... is it?
Starting battery, trolling batteries are to many volts and will interfere with the transducer.
@@BentRodBassin that's the answer I was hoping for - thanks! I havent gotten to that yet still messing with removing the factory one (planned to move it up front) --- somehow they run the TD wire near the shifter and caught it under one of the shifter mounting screws so I lost about 2 hours trying to get it out before I just gave up and cut it (transducer cable of course) pulled it out from both ends. to late to finish last night now on to mounting the Garmin TD on the stern of course it wont fit in the factory mount so now I have holes in my new boat from the old mount to contend with. - different problem - thanks!
hey any tips for sealing the old TD holes? going to mount a block to back this time around but I need to seal up the ones that are a already there first. gonna try the "stern pad" uses VHB 3M adhesive instead of screws. I figure its worth a try I guess. I really do not want any more holes in the boat -- how did you deal with the holes from the original TD with yours????? cant put screws back in they'd be in the way of the new one. what was your solution?
Do you know the model number or the ram mount that you used?
Its D Size.
Paschal pros 😂
It’s lo rance not Lawrence
Lowrance, not io.
8:58 how did you guys get this off so easy, im having a hard time removing this part
There is a screw holding it onto the boat from the inside, just past the switch board on the console.
Do you know the model number of the ram mount that you used?
It was the universal D ball short arm, for 9-12”. Purchased at bass pro, they will have a list of compatible graphs on the description list. Hope that helps!
@@BentRodBassin thanks a ton. I have the same set up. I just need the ram mount.
