#Toyota #Prius - Авто та транспорт
Guys, it was SO cool to see you reviewing it together. Sofyan absolutely owns every other reviewer with the details but the back and forth with Tommy and his technical nerdiness made it great. More of this!!
Sofyan is back! Cannot say enough about how nice it is to see you 2 working together. No drama, no bickering, no rants. Just straight up review opinions with some facts thrown in. Here is a question, did Toyota figure out a way to keep thieves from stealing the Catalytic converter?
Supposedly they made the materials less valuable than prior generations. Not sure how that helps
I've been looking at these and on Toyota's site they do offer two affordable cat cover options, aluminum and stainless, but install is not included in the price
They offer an accesory for the prius now- a plate that protects the catalytic converter
My brain is broken, every time I see his name I hear "soyfan" in my brain before I catch myself.
cat guard is a factory installed option
I think they should have named the models:
L, LE, LT for the FWD models and
XL, XLE, XLT for the AWD Models to make it easier to know if it's AWD or not.
Nice to see both channels do a collaboration review.
Love this Prius. If I was in the market for a car the LE would be my choice. 17 inch rims for a better ride and higher MPG
LE is the best way to go
I recently put all weather Michelin tires on my 2018. Grips the road better. Doesn't peel out at the light and stops faster. Barely noticeable fuel loss.
@@CandycaneBeyond Michelin are the best tire period. I don’t buy other brands ever.
You two should team up more often
Like husband and wife ?

I have a 2018 Prius with 67,000 miles and 52.4 MPG over that mileage.. I love this new look, the shrunk size worries me.. but it would be on my list for sure.
One of the best common sense reviews I've ever watched. These 2 should start a channel together.
I subscribe to both TFL and Redline... it was cool to see them together in a review. Also good to hear two different perspectives in the same video.
After 2 decades of shitting on the Prius I have to admit I finally want one. Its not the coolest, sportiest or even most practical (because of its smaller size) but as a good all round daily driver its pretty hard to beat.
Happy to see the collab!
What not a lot of people remember but when the 2nd gen Prius came out it was wayyy ahead for its time. All models came with push button start now the 2023 LEs come with a flip out key lol. The 2nd gen also was considered a midsize car due to its humongous space it came with specially the rear seats.
My 1st was a 2005 I got new but turned I when I moved internationally. Now in a 2009 that I got in '16 with 155k km on the clock. hoping that (a)they will have it here and (b)that I will be able to get one - FWD/LTD. Gorgeous car.
@@Tzvi092 Your comment made me smile, In the UK in 1956 Fords better-classed 6-cylinder Motor cars had a push-button start as standard, in fact, they stopped it by 1961.. a sort of reverse technology. The same sort of 4 door options with just 4 cylinders had a pull knob to start them in the early years...
I'm sure the 2nd gen came with all the tech the LE has standard. Cmon my guy. It was ugly amd slow just like every prius until now. That's the point. Now it looks good and is relatively quick.
$38k with single zone climate control, no rear seat air vents is just crazy.
Great video! The synergy between both of you, amazing! Sofyan, I am waiting for inviting Tommy into your Channel. Thank you Guys, regards!
I wonder if the catalytic converter is just as easy to steal on this new generation. Excellent review guys
Wonder no more, get cat shield. That's what i did in my prius 2019!.
Prius is offering a factory shield now as an accessory.
LOL @ 4:56 - 5:02 when Tommy was offended by Sofyan's comment about rear is his least favorite part of the car. I don't care what anyone says....Tommy is cool in my book.
That was a pretty great unfiltered reaction, we just enjoying busting Tommy’s chops sometimes, but we agree with you, he is def cool in our book as well 🙂
Love this collab! Have been watching you both for years.
I love this collaboration. Totally a fan of Redline Reviews as well!
I liked the video and overview of the New Prius! very entertaining and lots of info. Thanks guys!
I'll put the Prius on my Consider list, but I am concerned about headroom, seating position, and ingress/egress. Good for Toyota for putting some giddy-up in the Prius. I subscribe to both TFL and Redline Reviews, so the Sofyan/Tommy collab is awesome. Their styles complement each other.
So happy to see two of my favorite channels collab!
Totally cool review, loved all your quips (both) and thanks!
It does not appear that any manufacturer even makes tires in that size. I only did a brief search, I wonder what other people will find.
Tommy’s pause after the other dude said he didn’t like the rear end. I can imagine what he was think haha
Love both channels. Love to see channels collaborate. Keep it up guys.
I’ve owned 2007 for 15 years and never had issue with power - it got me from a to b
I got a 2005 with 72k miles, i live in SF and it goes up the hills with plenty to spare
Now it will even go to C. 🤣
Wonder what it drives like compared to the Corolla and Camry hybrid counterparts?
Good duet review! Regarding the cell phone interfaces: does this wireless charger work or is it actually more of a "maintainer"? Also, does the wireless CarPlay actually work or is it really required to use wired?
Enjoyable video and good synergy between the two guys. All the info with a bit of humour makes for a pleasant watch.👍
The previous models had a lot of storage room in the back, hopefully it didn't lose too much of that storage.
For the New prius 140.00 dollar ad on there is a kit to protect you converter , I think it takes about 10-15 minutes to install. Installation is extra of course it looks pretty good from the photo I saw.
Tommy's timer is used to the Rocky Mountains where the air is thinner and acceleration times slower :)
This will be my first new car. So sick.
As an F150 guy, this car is waaay more tempting for me than any other EV. The Car looks cooler than anything getting 50mpg. Also it has a 550-600 mile range. I'm impressed. (it also goes 40 miles on the battery alone.
great review! thank you!! can i just vent and say I hate how all the cars ceilings get shorter and shorter
Is that the all wheel drive version? It finally looks like Toyota is bringing sexy back and I love it always been a fan on their products, love the modern interior 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Really great to see you and Sofyan working together on a car review.
First of all, the definition of 'cool' is not caring whether other people think you are cool. In regard to the woeful headroom, 'deal-breaker' is the most polite word to describe it. I hope TFL provides full chiropractic care after Tommy's impact with the headliner.
Unexpected crossover episode!
So for that amount of money why would someone prefer Pruis over XSE hybrid Camry of EX-L Hybrid Accord ?

very fun review. Please test the Prime too
Maybe the Prius PHEV ("Prime"?) will be Unobtainium like the RAV4 Prime, do you think?
I don’t think so. The 4th gen Prius Prime was created in decentl numbers. I imagine it’s because the battery is significantly smaller, so Toyota could make more of them.
It looks crowded in there. It doesn't look wider at all. It looks very narrow
It's their camera that makes it look narrow. I have sat in it and it is a litttle wider
Where are you guys? Southern California?
I am pretty tall and in my older Dodge Magnum I had a ton of head room. Then in my Scat Pack there was a lot lett head room, the seats sat much higher. I have had rental Prius cars over the years and none were good for headroom. It seems to be a trend amongst newer cars. I do have more headroom in my Model 3 so I hope that some of the new EVs give me that as well.
I agree. The synergy of you two together is really good. Career change?!
Will 3 car seats fit in the back row ?
seriously looks like a great design in and out
Where is the review for the cargo space ?
So happy to see two of my favorites reviewers together making a video❤. Btw prius is ok.
5’8 and I feel for you Tommy! I love the MPG on this Prius but the space is not for tall people :(
Is Tommy able to lower the seat further or was it already at the max?
Omg thanks for featuring sofyan!
If I were to go with one a Xle with the big screen would be the way I would go don't need any other options IMO
Great review.
Much improved on the outside for sure
Agreed. Definatly gone from a nerdy car for people wanting to make an eco statement to a good looking car that most would be happy to be seen it.
love the collaboration!
Thinking about this or a camry LE hybrid. Sort of concerned about the reduced interior space
The interior space is not as bad as they say it is.
Anyone noticed they eliminated the rear hatch wiper? my Prius Prime doesn't have one for obvious reasons but it is my biggest complaint. I don't see a reason for Toyota to not have one on this model
Awesome collaboration! You should acquire Red Line
Cool to see this kind of collaborations with two good reviewers!
The Volkswagon Beetle pretty much stayed the same for decades and people like myself still drove one! It was practical and cheap! The Prius was designed in 1998 and went into production a year later. The vehicle was way ahead of its time and its styling stayed the same for over 20 years. Now we have the new model. However, during those years, it's technology was constantly improved. I love the new design but there are compromises. One of the problems is the lower ceiling (by 2 inches). So, there is less room inside for tall/ heavier people. Hey, another problem is there are more blind spots in the rear.
The overall design is infinitely better than the previous one, however, the a pillar and c-pillar areas are riddled with cut lines.
Nice fit 22” wheels on it no drama! Thinking of you my 2020 Corolla 😅
Love these collaborations
Toyota missed the mark on this. No rear vents? Can't have this in AZ. Lower headroom front and rear? So many of these cars are taxis and now you can only fit certain sized passengers? You just reduced your clientele market by a lot with those 2 things. Seems perfect for a little old lady though
What about that funky instrument panel? I’ve viewed a dozen UA-cam reviews of the new Prius and nobody talks about it. It def keeps the science experiment vibe going in the Gen5.
Is it a pure hybrid or a plug in hybrid?
They should have skipped the sunroof glass since lowering roof line, since it gobbles space. Most people with sunroof leave shades closed anyway.
2 of my favorite channels !!
I like the XLE Hybrid & the color Blue. Unfortunately, I'm 6ft 6in, and unable to Fit into this vehicle. 😕 I guess, I'm keeping my 2022 Tucson Hybrid AWD.
When you mention unusually narrow tires, will that mean they'd be more expensive/harder to get when it comes time to replace them?
Probably initially, but considering how well these will sell, I imagine the problem wouldn't last.
So cool you two are together. :)
This is a pretty good look into "why people have flocked to SUV-type vehicles." What on EARTH is the WHOLE REASON why we own motor vehicles? "To get in them and drive around in them." And when a significant portion of the population can't even FIT into the dang things, well, you move to a vehicle that you -- and your passengers -- can fit into. And especially for older folks -- you do lose a bit of flexibility as you age -- it's massively easier to just "step into" an SUV, and step out of it -- than the work it takes to get in and out of something that's so low. It will be interesting to see if Prius sales increase or decrease with this new model.
Really like the colab!
I can buy (again) 2nd 3rd and 4th gen any day because reliability and coolness! But this is good looking and about the power the 2005 is not slow at all the 2016 is very agile and quick to drive I have use it at 103mph on highway
Well, no Hellcat driver will be threatened, but a 0-60 of 7.5 (or 8) seconds, is a decently responsive vehicle...nothing to be ashamed of.
awesome collab, sofan is awesome!!
If a guy in a trendy jacket is willing to get that close on camera u know Toyota stepped their game up.
Great job guys!
Its crazy to think the 1st wave of Prius are sold out if you try to buy one on the Toyota USA website.Hope we dont see any mark ups on vehicles
But they did make it less practical (or affordable).
It's the best new generation so far, but it came with compromise that wasn't necessary
From a person that hated the look of the old generation of Prius. I do like the look of the new one.
P.S. I own a Honda Insight. Which I’m very Happy with.
That is cleanest slope angle I've seen on a regular car.
Redline! Great Collab Bey knows his car reviews
I loved my 2010 ! It may be the best car I've owned . I'm very disappointed in the loss of headroom ,I'm 6'3" so I may not be able to fit . The price is high so you are going to have to be it love with the car as you would have many other options for the price . And lastly it sounds very noisy in the video I don't know if it's just the microphone but it sounds like a lot of road noise . You seem to be raising your voice just to talk to each other as you pick up speed . Have herd of the arm rests being very hard plastic . So as exciting as the look and power I don't think I'm going to be able to get one .
Tommy is just 6'1" so I cannot see how someone any taller fits.
@@rightlanehog3151 disappointed looks fantastic and 200 hp!
I love my 3rd gen Prius as well. I once drove 10 hours with a passenger who was 6 ft 9 in the passenger seat and he fit! I think If I can only fit a 6 ft 7 in passenger, in the new one, I’m OK with that. I’m only 5ft 9 myself so I will fit just fine. I’m surprised how low the starting price is. It’s about the same as the old one, adjusted for inflation but with more power and more tech. I’m 100% in. I’ll probably buy one in 2025 after it’s been selling a while and the recalls are mostly out of the way. My 2013 should hopefully get me 2 more years until then.
How’s David doing? Haven’t seen him on video recently.
I'd actually drive that and not be ashamed of it. The added power will go a long way towards picking up new buyers too.
Can you put a Model 3 side by side with the new Prius? We want to visually see the size differences
I'm only interested in the LE FWD and AWD. I don't want 19's for many practical reasons. I am in no way a slave to the fashion of the modern esthetic or have any need to rail corners . I could live with 17's if 16's won't fit. I'd be fine with 15's too, if they fit.
May I'm bias but it's always been cool. From the front my 2018 looks just like all the other Toyota styled cars. Yes, weird butt, but I get to park up front and plug in. Some places are for free by me. The Prime is already hot in summer from all the windows and battery. I'm not sure having glass roof would be beneficial.
Two of my favorite channels teaming up
In your opinion which car was more fun to test drive the AWD or FWD?
Great job reviewing the prius gentleman
Finally, a Prius that nobody will be ashamed to drive.
I think it's a beautiful Forward design for the Prius I think it looks good I like it I wonder if they're ever going to make a two-door??? That will be nice
Seeing how you are in that car isnt having the roof that low a safety issue, seeing how you move toward and how your head would hit makes me wonder if you get in an accident. Makes me wonder how many neck or broken neck injuries there will be
that's a nice surprise collab
Is the seat adjustable for taller people?
Yes
It reminds me a bit of the Mazda Miata but more practical, safer and more fuel efficient. Something about the curves and low slung nature of the car
is there a spare tire?
