Let's see. This is the new Prius, so much better than the old one? It is a beauty but let's look at my Hybrid and plug-in for 2021 and 2022. Both are easy to get in and out of. Both have lots of room and that includes the back seat (also head room). Without plugging it in, you can get up to 50 mpg. If you use the plug, you can get up to 90 mpg. If you run out of electricity, you keep going because both have gas engines. Oh, but the engine is small and can't accelerate very fast off a traffic light. BALONEY! Here's a secret....at the start, both engine and battery combine for acceleration. I have NEVER been beaten off a light in 2 years! Can you say TORQUE? The big problem here is that in many states (my Michigan) trying to get the Toyota Prius is like finding a unicorn with a gold horn!!! Good luck!
Reduce headroom, reduce cargo space, reduce practicality. I drove a Prius because it's counter-culture and the blue-collar vehicle of choice...the vehicle of delivery people and taxi-drivers ... not to look "hip"...now it looks conformist like every other car...very dissapointed.
a little sacrifice for a wider appeal seems fine to me. plus, still achieves the same MPG ratings as previous but with a ton more power, so who are we to complain
So even though the car is lower and flatter, the coefficient of drag is WORSE than the previous model (027 vs 0.24 - quite a bit worse). So the design change is NOT to get better fuel economy. And of course if you drive it quick, your fuel economy goes down too, below the advertised number. Might as well just get a Camry hybrid.
The AWD model can go uphill with three inches of snow. The front drive will slip backwards. Toyota makes the RAV4 and 4Runner if you need to go through knee deep or waist deep snow.

@@MotoManTV Basic LE is what most people will get. thanks
It’s the magician from arrested development
Interesting that the 8 inch media screen has knob on the left not right.
Because Mr. Akio Toyoda said “No more boring toyota”
How about rave4 prime 300hp plug-in engine/motorsss swap
Reduce headroom, reduce cargo space, reduce practicality.
I drove a Prius because it's counter-culture and the blue-collar vehicle of choice...the vehicle of delivery people and taxi-drivers
... not to look "hip"...now it looks conformist like every other car...very dissapointed.
@MotoManTV, Can U do review of Prius subscriptions? ThankU.
How fast can you go with AWD in action? The outgoing model was only 7MPH.
I heard from another reviewer that it's able to be used at all speeds.
Wish it had a quieter interior and this is becoming a theme with Toyota's.
But despite this new Prius has a sleeker style, its CD figures is 0.03 higher than the previous model. 0.27 vs 0.24 respectively.
a little sacrifice for a wider appeal seems fine to me. plus, still achieves the same MPG ratings as previous but with a ton more power, so who are we to complain
No complains, since this is a win win Prius all round. Just surprise that with this sleek looks, one would think that it will be more aerodynamic.
@@ianpolo5673 I’d probably put blame on the bigger wheels
So even though the car is lower and flatter, the coefficient of drag is WORSE than the previous model (027 vs 0.24 - quite a bit worse). So the design change is NOT to get better fuel economy. And of course if you drive it quick, your fuel economy goes down too, below the advertised number. Might as well just get a Camry hybrid.
I was looking for this comment. Exactly. The new design is about style over performance. I'm not complaining though, will definitely buy it.
Do you really need all wheel drive…… I mean it’s so low to the ground would you be driving in the snow?
The AWD model can go uphill with three inches of snow. The front drive will slip backwards. Toyota makes the RAV4 and 4Runner if you need to go through knee deep or waist deep snow.
