      @@youcancallmemaster2680 I only partially agree. Hybrid vehicles, CVTs and FWD have their places, and are here to stay. Don't forget FWD is the most popular drive train at least in the United States and has been for a very long time. It all depends on what you need/what you're looking for. A box truck that's empty will easily get stuck in 8 inches of snow. A FWD SUV will have a much easier time. Looking at the Toyota Highlander, the 2021 is rated to tow 5,000 lbs. either FWD or AWD. All that being said, I do agree that using a Hybrid drive train on a truck is a little strange but don't forget trucks used to be electric a long time ago. Electric motors give you full torque on circuit closing. My problem is that these are Ford products and while I may buy an F-150 if I needed one, I'm not too sure about anything else Ford makes. I would rather buy a Hybrid truck from Toyota but there must be a reason why they haven't made a Hybrid version of either the Tacoma or the Tundra that I'm aware of.

The lifting equipment can’t lift up engines or 55 gallon drum’s high enough to get them in the bed. Hybrids scare some corporations, a lot of shops refuse to work on them. So being potentially forced to go to a dealership depending on the market area is not something my company is really interested in doing. I hope my Manager is wrong about that last part. @@wilmarbarrick3194 - That they are hard to get right now so there are so many test pilots that the km or miles pile on from all the “interested” parties. They had to do that with the Broncos at my buddy’s dealership. He initially had 2, but of the first 25 guys that showed up to drive the one he designated for test drives, not one of them bought the vehicle and the majority (the honest ones) said they just wanted to see and drive it as they couldn’t afford it. The first day there the Bronco already had 175 km on it, by the end of the first 7 days on the lot it had over 1000km and the first to buy one off the lot (the one that wasn’t test driven as she wanted a “new” Bronco) was a lazy that said she was there to buy or order one. She took the second unit. She didn’t get possession right away as the Broncos were there as “display” models initially. The demand and hype is so huge, they have to let the hype die down or all the Broncos n the lot will have to be sold as demonstrators.
      There was a time when you only went to the dealer to buy a vehicle. Now there’s no integrity, or maybe honour, in people and they think it’s just fine to drive it for something to do with no intentions of buying the vehicle. They have even “test driven” trucks, insisted that they don’t want a salesman with them, leave all their credentials and STILL use the truck to pick up furniture or appliances to avoid delivery fees or rental costs. Now if you don’t want the sales person with you the only thing you will be shown,,,,, is the door. People are simply unscrupulous these days!

    • @shitloveaduck
      @shitloveaduck 2 роки тому +2

      @@wilmarbarrick3194 - you can chose your route, you don’t have to go where the salesman tells you. Test drives to prospective buyers, is the cost of doing business. I’m saying that there’s a whole new class of people out there that like test driving whatever interests them with no intention and very often no ability, to buy. That is where people used to have ethics and only test drive a vehicle if they are really shopping, but now they see no problem just using the vehicle for a “cruise” to satisfy their curiosity, vs actually testing the vehicle before purchase. I have purchased hundreds of vehicles in my life. Most I didn’t drive as they were (small) fleet purchases. When I was considering newer models, or different vehicles altogether, I would test drive them until I found my purchase and stopped. There are people that just don’t stop! They like the experience and it’s free!
      My buddy polled his clientele to see what they though about a $100 deposit on a test drive that was refunded if there was a purchase. They agreed it would eliminate the issue, but alienate more than a few clients. It would have to be an industry wide standard. At his dealership, if you want to test drive a F150, no problem. He is rather careful on test drives of the Limited and Platinum models. Those are very often driven by people that don’t make in a year 1/2 what the cost of the truck is. That’s a bug issue, especially if he has to then make that a demonstrator due to the # of test miles. He has a single test model of each of the levels, but it’s easier to get an XL out XLT for a test that’s other than the test model. There are people that ask to test the vehicle with the lowest km on them then just walk away and often laugh because they admit they were just joyriding basically. It’s easy to say it’s the cost of doing business when you don’t have a detailed knowledge of the business and decades of experience. If a person really is serious about a specific model, they understand driving a demonstrator model, if available, and then choosing the exact model they want. To put a Limited up as a demonstrator can cost over ten thousand at sale time for that vehicle. It is a fraction of that for a lesser model of course. If all people were still ethical, the old days of saying you want to test drive “that one” would still be around,,,,,,, not all people are ethical to that level anymore.
      It is even rumoured that Ford and maybe others in the industry want to go to ordered sales only. If it was an industry standard, or even brand standard, then custom ordered models would be delivered in weeks vs months. It used to be 6 weeks to get a custom ordered vehicle, the current chip shortage though has changed that for now.
