- If you own a Samsung device that has the in-screen fingerprint scanner, anyone can bypass your FingerPrint scanner with a gel case and their finger or their knuckle.
Seems like a big deal. Not really. Here is what I found.

This only happens if you scan your finger AFTER putting on the cheap screen protector, because it's registering the pattern of the screen protector, not your fingerprint.

Difference was there was nothing you could do to avoid the no-charging issue with the XS, this is merely a "Case" of using a terrible quality case with the screen reader, which already was fixed.. There are other actual problems I can point out with iPhone and Galaxy that need more attention than this.

THIS is where samsung's fail started.
I think, if you make $1000 phone with security based of fingerprints scanning, you should be worrying about scanner properly detects ONLY fingerprints. Like, real fingers. Not gel cases. And not plastic screen protectors. And no other stuff.
This is not 100% samsung's guilt, but some there is some portion of their fail.

Just throw away that gel case. Only that very gel case with its unique ridges are able to open the phone, so, just throw it away and reregister the fingerprints. Problem solved.

My understanding is the s10, s10+, and note 10 can be fooled by certain screen protectors, something you put on and leave on, and then register your prints. Samsung’s statement acknowledged this, and basically said not to use those protectors.

The fault isn't that it's inaccurate, it's that it's so accurate that is has the read into the small microscopic crevices of a manufactured plastic in a specific spot to even unlock. I've used half my nail to unlock my iphone with the fingerprint reader

Did anybody try wiping the fingerprint off the the screen and trying this ? Cause if its ultrasonic reading ofcourse it would read the already smudged fingerprint on the screen when pressure is applied on it by a blank surface. But still tis to be confirmed
