I loved how this movie was political without being partisan. The idea that Texas and California would ever team up is so outlandish that I don't know how people can't see it's intentional. This movie is not about how Republicans are leading us towards civil war, nor is it about how Democrats are. This movie asks Americans of all stripes to do everything possible to avoid this ever happening. Whatever our differences may be, we have to set them aside so long at this remains even a remote possibility.
I really enjoyed the movie It had some really intense moments especially the final battle into the White House. I know the movie plot is mostly centered around the journalists but I would have liked to have seen more of what caused this civil war because the movie is titled Civil War. We only get a brief description In the movie that the President is an illegal three-term president and we only see him at the beginning and at the end of the movie. If this movie does well I could see maybe a prequel exploring What caused the whole situation and see it more through the eyes of the military forces and the illegal President.
I am seeing this simply to see what could POSSIBLY get Texas and California on the same team. Also I can't tell if that's a shadow or if you're actually trying to grow a goatee.
Agree with most. The positives outweigh the negatives I think. As you mentioned, sound design and cinematography were amazing. Some really tense moments, especially that scene with Jesse Plemons. Just didn't find these characters too relatable.
I didn't really love the movie. But I love how both A24 and Alex Garland will take chances. And despite being hit and miss, the hits are well worth enduring a few misses.
I like how the action sequences feel like watching a documentary at times
Same made it realistic the part where he runs in holding a flag at the beginning was insane and realistic

One of my favorite films of the year. I respect the hell outta a director who isn't afraid to put stuff out and boy oh boy

I really appreciated the realism of the action scenes. That attack helicopter looked and sounded so real!

Personally loved the soundtrack. But I know I’m in the minority
