Just installed this. Followed your instructions. Very well done. The only thing that I did a little differently was I went ahead and I undid those 10 mm screws and that little panel pulls out pretty easily. but it gives you just that little extra bit of room to undo the clip for the cigarette lighter.
I was really hoping this would work for my 2012 4Runner but it didn't. The female connection for the charger is a 2-pin and the male connector (from my vehicle) is an 8-pin. My original port has the earphone jack with no USB slot instead of the combo as shown in the video...probably a newer 4Runner although the panel looks the same. Maybe I can find a coupler to make them work but not hopeful. I'll return the charger but the good thing is that I know how to take that panel off the dash and put it back on!

Chinese electronics never last.i did buy this model for a backup. Bought oem one Trust me I've been there. I ordered mine from the dealership seems to good quality,due to fact I'm not going to pull the ac portion of my dash to replace it with a year.
Had it installed in my tundra for 4 years, use it daily. Zero issues
@@Donnythelatemodeltechyou got lucky I installed one on my 4runner 4th generation it was usb and voltage meter went in 8 months.

Bought this for my 2018 4Runner. Unfortunately, the plug from the original harness to the harness on the new USB port does not match up. Really strange..The plug to the 12 volt outlet is correct.

Yes, I meant to post back up.. it doesn't use one of the plugs from the vehicle harness.. Been using it for a while now and I've been happy with it.

Well I bought one of those fas changer but but the oem at the time you connect your phone to use the GPS or other apps, but with this fast charger is only for charge your phone with this you can't connect for use any apps at least for my 4 runner 2021

It appears as though it does, but it plugs into the power supply for the cigarette lighter, and the cigarette lighter only has power when the key is turned on

I just got a phone charger mount and when I plug into the original usb slot, it says the power consumption is too high to the device shuts off. With this quick charge 3.2amp port, would that work? it is definitely the charging device that is drawing too much power.

If you use the spots by the cup holder the location in the dash will be unusable since its now plugged into the new one right? Do you know of a way to keep the dash working while adding the one into the cup holder?
its a different plug, he just undid the one with the aux to use that space.

No, just for charging. I would think most 4runners have bluetooth.

Yep, I can't find one this good without the lights, I honestly wasn't thrilled about it, but its actually not that bright, its actually kinda cool know when things are fully charged.

How hard is it to connect the usb charger to the cigarette lighter inside the center console box? Would you have to remove the box to get to the connector or can it be accessed from behind the cup holder?

Why would this transfer data? Lol.
Late reply but maybe will help someone. The OEM port functions with your head unit. Replacing that port with an aftermarket power only port removes the head unit capability.
