Gohan VS Buu (manga pacing)

- So. I did a thing.
I recently picked up the final Vizbig for DBZ, and I've also been watching through Kai Buu Saga, and I've always enjoyed making manga-paced versions of the anime, so here's a quick one I just made, trying to make this scene from the anime look just how it did in the manga. Not perfect, but meh. Hope you enjoy.
The cool thing about this is that it shows Gohan actually DID learn his lesson from Cell; he’s not drawing the fight out, he’s just beating the piss out of Buu so he’s weak enough to be wiped out by a finisher. He probably was about to finish him off before he blew up tbh.

This is how fights are supposed to be, that's something I really like about jujutsu kaisen, less talking and staring and more fast paced action that isn't cut over and over by dialogues
That's because jjk is seasonal, they don't have to worry about padding out the content to let the Manga get ahead, they can just faithfully put out the episodes in there purest form, no extra scenes, no filler mixed in to stretch out the Canon content, like in dbz or one piece, considering the quality they've managed to put into one piece recently, I have no doubt in my mind that if one piece was seasonal, we would get the best animated Shonen of all time easily, one piece is outshining demon slayer right now, and demon slayer is argueably the best looking anime since one punch man season 1.

If JJK was weekly like old anime they'd have to halt the fights' pacing a lot too, seasonal schedules are a godsent for stuff like this.

アニメだと無駄に引き延ばされて多少拮抗してるかのような描写になってるけど、
原作ではまさにこんな感じで圧倒的なんだよね。
Ignoring the questionable subtitle, i feel that this abridged scene can show of how different Manga/comic book pacing is compared to pacing you see in Anime or other mediums of television. The manga pacing was much more faster because I bet if the original manga had the pacing as the anime, it would of over stayed its welcome.

It's completely faithful to the manga tho, Gohan says the same thing in both, "usunoro" or fool/halfwit in English

Mystic Gohan did not have much chance to fight and have a long battle during the Manga or in the new movies.
I am glad that in the Anime extend their fight against Super Buu/Buu Gotenks significantly and that content is retained in Kai (Just more faster)...
However I think this video is nice, because the short version of Manga although is shorter gives great air of grandeur of this transformation and defeat the villain in less than a minute is also ridiculously epic xD
Gohan had all the chance in the world against Super boo. It was Bootenks he was no match for.

Manga fights are better in my opinion. Anime is good, but it's more about spectacle, flashy attacks and repetitive moves. When someone gets hit in the manga, you can feel the rage on every punch, and ki blasts are mostly used as final attacks, which makes them more exciting in the story
All that time for the build up to this and this is the extent of Gohan's role in this story. Man did this arc desecrate him. First he loses main character status early on then he becomes a red herring power up that accomplishes nothing and acts nothing like Gohan. Yet people say this is the best Gohan. What?

damn it is soooo much more clear in the manga that gohan is stronger. the anime makes it seem like they are even
silversonic99 even don't know we're you got that from but if they were evenly matched they would be trading blows with each other like when goku fought cell or like the majin vegeta vs goku fight that's more evenly matched

say what you will about pacing - this whole fight was stupid - lots of build-up - no real reward
just a "i'ma punch bubble gum" - episode
when we've seen buu literally blown into dust sized particles by Vegeta - before reconstituting - absolutely unharmed

U guys do know that there's no way to draw lengthy fights in manga. Too much drawing and extremely time-consuming.
Anime is an adaptation, therefore they have the technology to make more lengthy fights and add way more than manga ever can.
