The buu arc has some good moments in it different from other arcs. Finding a bit of good in an evil being. A coward being strong in another way beside strength. It taught a lesson of kindness. “Be humble and kind, but never be weak”, is the motto it brings to mind!
Honestly Mr. Satan was pretty brave all things considered. He was shaking like a leaf the whole time but he still walked his ass right up to Buu's house, after Buu had already destroyed most of the planet. He even tries to blow him up with that little hand held game and tries karate chopping him but Buu didn't even feel it and he thought the exploding game was funny so Hercule just kinda rolled with it. He walked right up to certain death. Dude is freaking brave.
People surprised at Piccolo's powers of making anything, but they forget that he was the god of Earth. Kami and Piccolo Daimao (Great Devil King) were one, till Kami purged his evil side creating Piccolo Daimao. Then when little Son Goku killed Piccolo Daimao, he reincarnated into the egg he spat out. This is why Kami survived, the Piccolo we know is Piccolo MaJunior/Majonia (Devil Junior). Then after absorbing Nail and Kami, especially the latter, Piccolo is complete, but retains many of his former godhood powers.
Even Evil Buu remembers Hercule Satan being on of the only living beings that treated him with kindness, the other being his puppy. That's why Evil Buu caved to Videl. It's not because she, herself, is asking. He equates her with her father. Years later, Buu ends up becoming the family pet. Quite a change for something created to destroy, and he's treated well, compared to Bibidi and Babidi.
It's not evil buu, it was the pure part of majin buu that was responding, evil buu doesn't care about hercule, that's why kid buu spat him out when he was struggling to kill him.

The entire Saga got dragged on because of his editors. Editor interference has created some really good parts of Dragonball but also caused some really bad moments. Without them we wouldn’t have 18, 17 and 16, the Cell Saga would have happened very differently and The Buu Saga would have also been very different. It was supposed to be a passing of the torch to younger generations but they kept pushing for more Goku and Vegeta and Toriyama caved repeatedly. The actions of Hercule, Goten and Trunks, Gohan and probably with some of Videl they would have saved the world.

As far as I'm concerned Mr. Satan beat Buu in the end, not Goku. Goku only used borrowed energy anyway to finish the job, but at so many points was it Mr. Satan the reason things went well. Even the reason the spirit ball happened in the first place.
Goku does acknowledge this, later in Super when Mr. Satan wanted to reward Goku for saving humanity, he rejects the reward stating that Mr. Satan did just as much to fight Majin Bu and save the universe. As far as Goku is concerned, Mr. Satan really is a hero of humanity.

As far as I'm concerned Mr. Satan beat Buu in the end, not Goku. Goku only used borrowed energy anyway to finish the job, but at so many points was it Mr. Satan the reason things went well. Even the reason the spirit ball happened in the first place.
It was a collaborative effort that I wouldn't attribute to just one person, but Mr Satan was definitely indispensable.
Goku does acknowledge this, later in Super when Mr. Satan wanted to reward Goku for saving humanity, he rejects the reward stating that Mr. Satan did just as much to fight Majin Bu and save the universe.
As far as Goku is concerned, Mr. Satan really is a hero of humanity.

The random sound effects from the music in Kai keep it from being the definitive version of DBZ. The music is so bad at many times it's just hard to watch it. Kai with the Faulconer soundtrack and the original Gohan voice would be perfection. We don't like new screaming kid Gohan lol.
