It works very well. Especially with a remote switch to turn on and off when I'm standing at the tool. I use it just about every time that I'm in the shop. Good luck with your build!
Thanks and good luck with your move. I'm doing the same (but from Wisconsin to northern MN) in a few weeks. I'll tear it down and reinstall in the new shop.
It works great for breaking down large sheet goods, either on the floor on on sawhorses (to support the offcut as well). I typically just set the saw depth to 1/4 inch deeper than the material.
What model Delta dust collector is that? Is the suction better or worse after the mods? Usually the filter helps improve suction but the cyclone usually reduces it.
Its the Delta Model 50-760 dust collector. I've had it for 12+ years. It's been a great unit. The suction was much better after the pleated filter from Wynn Environmental. I ran 4" sewer pipe down the length of the wall (about 26 feet) and have several inlets with aluminum gates. It works great. I don't have a meter to test CFM difference after the mods, but it provides plenty of power.
Ha - great eye! Yes, I did. I started an unboxing video, then thought I'd wait until I've used it a bit and combine that with a review. So far, it's keeping pace with the corded DeWalt jigsaw that you saw at the beginning. Not bad for the M12 version. I also love the barrel grip.
From what I understand, your lungs benefit the most from a MERV 15 filter that takes out 95% of the 0.3 micron particles. I inherited my dad’s 1-3/4 hp powermatic dust distributor after he passed from lung cancer. The Wynn MERV 15 filter that replaced the bag can make a remarkable amount of fresh air in a hurry. I have a thein baffle but will replace with a Super Dust Deputy shortly. Happy woodworking.
your definition of "easy" is different than everyone else's. good video.
I appreciate that! It was a bit of a mental challenge to figure everything out, but the build itself was fun (which, I guess makes it a bit easier).
@@rustyrockwoodcraft it’s informative. I got a “free” but very rough dust collector so I’m seeing if I should restore it
This is pretty close to what I have in mind for my garage. Cool to see how you did it

Great build out. Getting ready to set up my garage shop again after moving it from CO to TX.

Perfect timing. I have the same dust collector and have been trying to figure out how to connect a cyclone. Looks like a good set up you created.
Thanks. I did the same - I tried to find a video with the Delta collector and didn’t see much, so I made this one. Hope you find it helpful :)
The Styrofoam on the floor when making the plywood cut, genius!

Is what you built powerful enough to handle a ducted workshop with overhead and bottom collection on a tablesaw?
Why is the plywood on the wall necessary?
quite a quality video 👍
Thank you!
Thanks. What is the 45 degree PVC with nothing connected right by the black collector barrel?
It is currently connected to my Laguna bandsaw (which has an upper and lower 4” dust port).

Did you get the m12 jigsaw halfway through the build? Got mine a couple weeks ago and it's been so convenient!
