Super helpful video. Thank you for posting. I've been working on my backahand and your instruction regarding tying in your hip hitting through the ball was brand new to me. I just tested it out in front of a mirror and it feels super awkward to pair it with my upper body rotation. The work never ends!

Really interesting video. I really liked the cue for the elbow to instigate the torso turn. Question - the step exercise seemed to emphasise staying upright? I've been told to hinge at the hips, specifically not to stand tall. What do you think of this?
You have to hips if you are on full stretch but all other times you should protect your foundation. For all easy shots staying upright and bending at the knees if required is good. Gone are the days of maintaining a 90 degree wrist through the swing as this forsakes all other muscles to work hard to allow this position, standing more upright and dropping the wrist (not broken) will give reach, power, deception and options in a much more energy efficient way and if you are playing a good standard every little bit helps. If you are in doubt watch Rammy, Momen or Ali Farag and you will see the use of the dropped wrist for high quality outcomes with little effort.
Never too old to develop new skills. As you get older you should loo at playing Racquetball as well and you will find it is less stress and almost thee same movements and swing with massive fitness benefits with longer rallies.
@@chrisherne6454 Played on a normal squash court with a bouncy ball search Squash 57 on UA-cam. You use American Raketball racquets but an Australian or English ball as they are way less bouncy than the American ball, almost the same rules and play as squash so you will enjoy it greatly.

Keep all movements short and very strong with most before you hit the ball. Hip beside the ball to front wall not rotating.
