Thank you all for your strong support for this hypothetical. It has been overwhelming. Yes some have failed to understand it, but one can only explain so much! We must all live in the real world, and assess how we might respond to real world scenarios.
Oh boy you really had me going there for a while, and I was very relieved to realise that it was just a hypothetical scenario. My fiancé's and my brothers wife have a lot of relatives in the Philippines so this hypothetical hit really close to home. The only thing I would question about this hypothetical is the deployment of the M1A1 Abrams MBT's. Australia hasn't deployed MBT's overseas since the Vietnam war, so I doubt that we would send them to the Philippines, but you never know.
@@Strategy_Analysiswouldnt surprise me at all. its hard to say if it happened tomorrow whether the US and aus would deploy straight away, I don't think either is ready. but 2028, sure.
Something like this? : No one is in control of the 'western' militaries? Various powerful factions have partial control, and are not in unison? The USA is already in a state of low key civil war? Other militaries also? Therefore NO ONE is in control of when/how war breaks out- any senior officer (or A.I.?) may be in a position to launch an operation, that will push us over the edge? And, IF wide-scale war comes, it will be complete chaos- international, 'civil', power factions, etc., simultaneously? And it IS coming, within a few years? And non-conventional/secretive weapons will be important- cyber; EMP; other. And psychological/spiritual factors will be important- loyalty (or lack of), perception of who's winning, good V evil, etc. ?
With our quality & diversity force protection assets, we're perfect for Palawan, or a reasonable part of it ;) We wouldn't let our 🇵🇭 or 🇺🇸 mates down. P.s. Let us use Clark instead of Guam though.
From a geopolitical perspective, this scenario is unlikely as involving other nations in a bilateral dispute without the call to action from the UN is itself political suicide
Not any time soon. I was with a Filipina for years so went to PH frequently and pay attention to PH forums. Filipinos think they are westerners and are proud of being colonized by Spain and the US. I saw a bunch of posts asking the US Navy to come back and hope to serve in the US Navy... not the PH Navy, the US Navy. And indeed more than 15,000 Filipinos are serving in the US Navy today, that's more than Puerto Ricans
@@PeizxcvIm a Filipino and let me first say that this is true but its not because of colonial mindsets. There are several reasons: 1. The most shallow of all is the personal reason, the US navy pays better than the PH navy, Filipinos work abroad to send money back home and fast track their families out of poverty, you can do that faster by joining the USN than the PN 2. The US has actually done more to defend Philippine interests in the West Philippine sea than the Philippines has, the reason for that is mostly because they are simply more capable, until recently we could not send ships far out into blue waters, the USN is practically at home in blue waters, so the USN actually defends our freedom more than we do Theres a saying here, if you want to defend the Philippines, join the US military. 3. Equipment, we feel that if a war breaks out we stand a better chance of fighting back and surviving as part of the US military than if we were part of the Philippine armed forces To be fair we are now in the midst of a multi billion dollar military modernization program to beef up our defenses against China, So far we have had projects amounting to $9 billion that have been signed including a hundred land bassed Brahmos Supersonic cruise missiles, 2 light frigates and 2 heavy corvettes, modern light tanks, mobile artillery, surface to air missiles and light fighters Just last month the government approved a plan to spend $36 billion in the next 10 years to further equip and modernize the Philippine armed forces With this there is a growing sentiment among Filipinos to join our own armed forces including me who applied to be an airforce reservists recently
How can the two big countries China and the United States go to war over a small Philippines? This is impossible. Filipinos don’t have to have high expectations. This is just a bargaining chip for the United States against China. China just agreed to a request from the U.S. military for dialogue.
Bro, think about it, war is inevitable, sooner or later. It was never about the philippines, nor those islands. It was about not being circled and used all our neighbors or our own people against us. South China sea is what Chinese navy was designed for, if China can not dominated here, China will be kept inside its borders and dominated. If China doesn't go all out, it will be fighting one of their stupid proxies like Russia one day.
Imo if the Philippines sit down and talk, a deal may be reached like all the other neighboring countries. However if they try to draw outside forces thinking PLA would backdown, their calculation is completely wrong. Backing down is just gonna encourage all surrounding countries to do the same. China can choose either crumbling with its own land borders surrounded by all US proxies forever, or fight ww3 at its home court, must better than western pacific or Taiwan, no need for any landing. if PLA can not win this, forget about Taiwan. This is really the best possible scenario for PLA navy to engage, everything within range of the rocket force. And if the US backs off, Taiwan would rethink about its position. China would thank the Philippines for providing such a good opportunity. The regional countries are just gonna sit down and watch then side with the winner.
I think you might need to make it a little more clear in future that this is not actually a real news report, and instead a hypothetical. I sincerely appreciate what you were going for, but this is how misunderstandings and misinformation is spread. Despite it ruining the point of the in your face flash news report that looks real, it might be wise to have a small disclaimer either at the start, or throughout the video.
Noted. I did think about that as my channel is certainly not about disinformation (if you've seen my briefings). Also it's about 2 minutes in when I say it's a hypothetical. But this scenario certainly could play out, and quite quickly. Hopefully not.
Thailand is an ally of China! and Vietnam ABSOLUTELY WILL support China in a global confrontation! also, so will Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, North Korea and Bhutan....and that is just the east and south east Asia!
@@bishopofsahsBecause Vietnam leaders at that time was a soviet proxy. It was a message to all, if anybody becames a proxy against China militarily, it will be punished. Even if they were a brother. Nothing against Vietnamese people.
1. I didn't say Taiwan was supporting the Philippines territorial claims. 2. I am well aware of Taiwan's claim and they are essentially the same as China. 3. Suggest you re-watch the video.
Nicely done. As the CCP continues to strengthen ties across the globe, notably in Africa, South and Latin America, I wouldn't be at all surprised if a Chinese-lead coalition outnumbered Western forces in the event of hostilities erupting in the Western Pacific. I anticipate a number of state-actors will continue feigning neutrality, waiting for the time where they might have a devastating impact upon Western interests. Communist agents operating throughout the region are likely to ramp up activities to promote the agenda and demonise opponents, potentially instigating false-flag operations and even terrorist attacks. China doesn't need to directly engage, merely promote herself as enough of a threat that US and Australian forces are compelled to maintain high levels of readiness, exhausting men, women and material in the process.
