    Lena Bazhenova.. you are absolutely right. Efferent arteriolar constriction does cause increased GFR as told by sir in video.. (appreciate much) but then again as Lena said it actually finally decreases the filtration process. It has a biphasic effect on GFR.

      Lovely video content! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you thought about - Jeedylian Surveys Goldmine (do a search on google)? It is a great one off product for uncovering the secret to get rid of your kidney disease minus the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my m8 after many years got astronomical success with it.

    ♪▼ ♪▼ Chronic kidney failure (CRF) is a condition when kidney function begins to gradually decline. Chronic kidney failure, also known as kidney damage, can be in the form of abnormalities in the tissue, blood composition, and urine or kidney imaging tests.
    There are several things that can increase a person's risk of experiencing chronic kidney failure, including:
    - Age. Due to increasing age, the risk of this disease also increases.
    - Tribe. Those who are of African, American, and Native American descent have a higher risk than other races.
    - Gender. Generally, men have a higher risk of experiencing this disease.
    - Family History. Family history is also one of the triggers for diabetes and hypertension which ends in chronic kidney failure.
    - Use of Certain Types of Drugs. It is better to stop using certain drugs that can damage the kidneys, for example the analgesic (painkiller) class.
    Several conditions, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, contribute to chronic kidney failure. In the long term, these conditions can cause damage to the kidneys, resulting in decreased kidney function. For further information please visit: tinyurl.com/dfgzdre?fszfrta > ♪▼ ♪▼

    Isn't the increase in GFR due to efferent constriction only transient? After a time, as there is less blood flow to the glomerulus and fluid is squeezed out, the oncoctic pressure in the glomerulus will build up, which will draw fluid back into the blood. So, overall, GFR would decrease. Yes?

    • @kfeast4395
      @kfeast4395 7 років тому +2

      I believe that the effect is biphasic; at moderate levels of efferent arteriolar constriction, resistance to flow and thus GFR will rise. Once resistance reaches 3x normal, you will indeed begin to decrease the GFR due to abnormally elevated glomerular oncotic pressure

    Why is creatinine used to measure the GFR instead of inulin?

    • @divyagautam7373
      @divyagautam7373 9 років тому +2

      zeromethanez It's because creatinine is found naturally in your body (released from muscles) while inulin has to be administered intravenously. :)

    Hey Guys. I am a 50 year old male, with one kidney. I donated my other kidney in 2010. Over the years, my eGFR numbers have ranged from 56 to my 2 most recent eGFR numbers -June-39, and July-44. It has been as high as 51 in September of 2015, but this 39 I got in June was the lowest ever. My kidney specialist doesn't seem concerned with this number, nor my creatinine numbers which have ranged from 1.46, to my most recent in July- 1.76 because of the fact I am working on one kidney. Is he right? Should I not be concerned about the 44 eGFR number? What is the "ideal" eGFR # for a white male, age 50, with one kidney??

    - Full visualisation up close instead of far away on a white board hidden behind a teacher.
    - Specific separated subjects instead of everything in one Video.
    - Your clear voice instead of poor quality soundtracks or teacher with strong accents.
    - Great resume of content without a lot of small talk in between the important Information.
    - Great quality drawing and sped up so we can quickly see what is being thaught.
    - Drawing are drawn in synchro with explanation
