You have a gift for teaching, Dr. Morton. I have not taken any anatomy, and I only know a bit about the body from my mom's career as a nurse/nursing educator, and yet I feel I can follow along incredibly well. I've watched some of your other videos, but I wanted to come back to comment on the one that brought me to your channel because it's a complicated and circuitous process, yet you break it down so well. Beyond that, and this is a terribly under-valued skill, you make it fun. You sprinkle a few jokes in, you have the SHIING~ catchphrase that I love. An awesome combo that leads to a fantastic educator.

3:33 Great video, just would like to add that the cortical nephrons (+juxtaglomerular) have their Loop of Henle in the medulla contradicting your diagram. The difference comes from the position of the glomerulus, length of the loop of Henle, function and frequency.
8:17 Glomerular Basement Membrane is a misleading term- mainly the basement membrane part. Even though many books may use the term (Basement membrane) technically speaking, a basement membrane is comprised of a basal lamina and a reticular lamina (non existent in this case) therefore it should be called the Glomerular basal lamina.
9:54 Just for those wanting more information, podocytes have primary processes (called trabeculae) and secondary processes coming off of the trabeculae (called pedicles). These pedicles interdigitate creating the filtration slits.
At 11:30 im pretty sure that the pedicel is not a process off of the secondary processes. But if someone knows that would be great!
18:32 I was thought that the Loop of Henle was comprised of a descending straight limb, intermediate tubule and a ascending straight limb. After reading into Junqueira's you were right thanks!
Great video thank you Dr. Morton!

Wow … thank-you so much for the thoughtful gift. Do you know that out of all of the anatomy and physiology tutorials I have created over the past 9 years this one on the nephron is one that I have spent the most time on and am most proud of? Thank-you … this made my day. Sincerely, David

Excellent, how about part 2 disecting the role of rbc's in the bowma ns capsule , levels and concentrations, diffusion, ect?, cool, possible nodes are lymphatic capillary beds similar to bowmans capsule without rbc, rbc's supplied to the membrane of a node where the lymphatics diffusion in and out of the vessels like the surrounding vessels to a alveoli gland , specifically lymphatic vessels leading to the r. Atrium via vena cava and clavicle

@TheNotedAnatomist , edited comment if you noticed, possible glands are lymphatic capillary beds transparent vessels, how about temporary micro capillaries considering a temporary barrier is built every menstrual cycle?

    Won't speak about it 🤐😁.
