Can you link to your website? All builders in CO use “Colorado custom homes” in their SEO so it’s been difficult to find you guys.

Acquired a piece of land a few months ago, which is within spittin' distance of Cameron Cone. How do you feel about ICFs in a foundation? What about for the walls? I like the idea of timber frame ceiling trusses, maybe wrapped with SIPs. Any expertise with building science? Have you heard of Passive House certification? And how do you feel about the homeowner doing some of the more fiddly bits of the work (i.e. curved laminated rim joists, etc).
Lots of preliminary work necessary, so looking at a 2025 time frame.

I'm looking at building in the Co Springs area (small 1br, 1ba, 500 sq.ft) on a small/steep property...
...the problem is: I live & work full time in London, UK and no contractor (property, lumber, elec ect) will respond to my messages.
I'm trying my best to get as much as possible done from here, but I can't even get the real estate agent on the line to see if the land has had a survey.
Just subscribed to your channel and it's awesome.
I could definitely use your advice as after a month of this, I'm still getting no-where at the speed of smell.

Dang... It's been disappointing realizing a custom home isn't possible for us in Colorado. From what I've heard, even an 1800-2000 sq ft home + any amount of land can't be done for less than a million. I've seen some new builds of similar or larger sizes, in the area we are looking at, for $500k. I was not expecting such a big price discrepancy. I was even considering creative, cost saving build solutions etc. Our budget is $700k with a really good down payment -I haven't heard any feedback that this is remotely possible.

Oh I’ve watched a few too many of your videos. I’m north of you in the west Denver Foothills. And we think we are putting everything together to make dreams into reality. But.. I need a local builder to help smack me with reality. We have a budget in mind but is it realistic? There are about 6-7 lots we’re looking at but I can’t tell a lot line from a problem? Is it crazy to want to hire someone like yourself to scope out lots? We drove the lots and it just filled me with more questions. I guess I need someone like yourself to give us a reality smack check… it’s fun to dream but if we back ourselves into a corner, that’s bad.

Hello, question I've got a property in Pueblo Colorado its part of the county and I'm looking for architect building designer that know how to make a plan so we can get an approved plan we want to remodel the house and build another house behind it. I contacted the planning building office in pueblo they said they are going to give us the measurements by this Friday or next Monday and to see if we can build behind the house. Can you please suggest me an architect engineer that knows how to do approved plans for the houses please and thank you.

The historical trend of the last 40 years is trending towards unaffordability.
Even resale houses are becoming less and less affordable for average earners.
OPPORTUNITY COSTS!!! It's not: can you afford it? But rather you can afford to wait?

I think anywhere near $300 a square is obscene for an average house build. A house is mostly wood, which is pretty cheap again. No wonder there are so many renters and rents are astronomical. Screwing the middle class as usual. Sad.

Elections have consequences. Most people will never be able to afford their own custom home. Especially in Democrat run states like Colorado.
