I’m giving up on Hondas and switching to REAL POWER

Hello and welcome back everybody. Today we have a very different type of video. In this episode we tackle a Chevy 262 engine that a client of mine wanted to rebuild out of his 1985 Chevrolet Astro. The best part of this is that it is carbureted and also I have never done anything like this ever. So this will be a new and exciting project for me. A motors a motor, while theirs no replacement for displacement as they say. Plenty of people start with B/D/H motors, and move on to other platforms, nothing wrong with that..If it's about power goals, it's easier to keep a motor together at less expense when you can spread cylinder pressure across more holes.

For your head studs, you can go cheap and drill and pin them in with roll pins, but it is not hard to configure those for screw in studs.....just check the heads for cracks before you put any time or money into them. The exhaust to cylinder wall is where you often find cracks. Best of luck.

Thank you so much for your feedback and advice. We sent the heads to the machine shop and they did the screw in studs for us. Everything in the heads was replaced as well including guides so we’re excited to see how the motor runs once it goes back in.
