- In this video, I take a neglected 1995 GT Talera and freshen it up so it can spend the next 28 years of its life as a commuter or pub bike.

Pretty one. The handle bar and the stem looks very good, great upgrade.
I had one of these. Time just flies. I bought it for about £400 way back in 1995. On tick.. I paid a bit each week. The main triangle is cro-mo and the rear is hi-tensile steel. I remember the goofy stem.. I remember the Araya rims..
I wish I could go back in time.
I like this bike almost as much as the BMX build you did. Thanks for the enjoyable videos
Nice job. At the beginning I didn’t appreciate the potential but the end result was definitely a bike I’d like to use to do a quick ride to the shop/cafe/pub.
Your take on design aesthetics and practicality is spot on.
Merry Christmas! I look forward to see what you have coming up in ‘24.
I have a 1998 GT Arrowhead I picked up for nothing. I am building it as a resto-mod with a 1 by 10 drive train with a 27.5 wheel set. Can't go wrong with a vintage GT.
just converted a 94 karakoram in purple to 1x9! it actually faded into blue from sun damage i guess but it actually looks gorgeous the way it is at the moment.
Just built a 3x 9 outpost aluminum. I like the paint on yours, subtle.
Nice build! Personally I’d have kept the triple (I love leaving mates behind when going up hills!). Merry Christmas!
Me too
I have something similar. Comfortable and goes everywhere. Great all-rounder. I would have kept the triple and get some high top speeds :-)
Great build. It deserved the bow after you put the kick stand down. kyong-ye
Love those old GT's with the Hellenic seat stays. Beautiful job, but wish you kept the triple chainring. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas!!
Good job, top to bottom. Got a '95 ? arette basement find My new commute ride, woulda put the rack in the back, I like saddlebags.KEEP PEDDLING for a terrific new year !!
That looks great! Perfect all rounder
Another nice build , looks good !
I like the build. Enjoy the retro!
Beautiful... Love the bars.
I have a 1994 GT Talera and I agree - GT made amazing paint jobs even on those "low end" models. And don't forget to mention the unique "Groove Tube" where the cables are hidden under the tube, it makes the bike look so clean and still somehow modern in my opinion. But also true, those model are quite heavy, and the frames are stiff, not very flexing. Great job, again! 👍
After watching your videos it really makes me wonder how many of these bikes were rebranded. Almost all the mountain bikes look like they are identical except the components. Thats why I like my GT. It looks a little different.
There is certainly a fine line between the details of all the bikes, and GT definitely stands out from the rest.
Sweet Talera 🤙🏼
Excellent !!
I have an outpost, although i dont know the year. A work buddy gave em to us cus he has so many lol
Very nice! 🎉
I have the axact same frame. Bought it 20 years ago for 30 dollars. Both kids used it as a commuter. Now a have rebuild it with a 1x10 speed. Also converted it into a dropbar bike. Doing gravel In the Woods.
I love the versatility of these old-school mountain bikes and the ability to make them whatever you want!
luv it
Have you done any videos on your parts cleaner? Would love to see more about it.

I've seen so many of these where they jettison the front derailleur and still wonder why.
front derailluers on a commuter bike are overkill, plus its just more maintenance. 1x7 is all youd need on this kind of bike unless you just love constantly shifting and are ok with doing extra maintenance
Agreed!!
is it lightweight sir because my father also has one and im gonna restore it
It's generally light weight. Definitely not a 50 old schwinn.
what was the thing that you used in hubs sir ?
I'm not sure what you are asking.
What brand were the cone wrenches you used?
