The energetic Elvis started mid 50's at the beginning and that's what made him famous. After he started doing movies in 1956 and went to the army for 2 year he didn't do live concerts until the late 1960's. The live concerts didn't start back up until 1969 which is a same we didn't have him on stage live in the early 60's.
Ronnie Tutt was Elvis' famed drummer. Tutt & Elvis is like peanut butter & jelly. They inspired each other. The harder Tutt played, the more Elvis' body grooved. Sad to say, Ronnie passed on October 16, 2021. RIP, Elvis & Ronnie. What a combo they made. 🙏 Loved your reaction!
Ronnie Tutt on drums! Ronnie said it was like playing for a stripper, he had to watch Elvis constantly and react! Elvis at his best in the early 70's! He was always great but full of energy in the early 70's! 😊
This really showcases what a showman & entertainer Elvis was. And he had a good sense of humor. He really liked wearing these white jumpsuits & it became his staple outfit in a lot of his concerts. "Polk Salad Annie” is a 1968 song written & performed originally by Tony Joe White.
I ABSOLUTELY ❤❤ YOUR REACTION HERE!! The jumpsuit is my favorite also. The song is definitely a favorite of mine. However the fact that Parker ( manager) had him performing 2 shows every single night for a entire month.. it did not take long for Elvis to get bored with the song. The early Vegas years, especially for this documented film.. was definitely his prime❤
I love this video, the live version. You can tell Elvis is just having a great time performing it.. makes me rock with him and smile all through it.. amazing video
I love how he was always having to manage his microphone and more importantly his microphone cord. It has been years and years since anybody has used a cabled mic as opposed to a wireless mic. And if you really watch his early stuff, especially hound-dog on the Milton Berle variety show which is the performance that set off The Firestorm, but a year or so before that at the Louisiana hayride. You can just see that it's so ingrained in him. But fast forward in time back to 1970 in Vegas for this, with all that twirling around and all the stuff, yet the constantly figure out your space that you're going to move in and where to move the mic cable to behind you or in front of you or however, in order to move without tripping over it or accidentally yanking it while stepping on it or something, which would completely cut off the vocal.
Everything thing you hear and see with Elvis he conducted and arranged himself, he took weeks and months carefully building his shows move for move, note for note but also including cues to change things on the spot. True genius in ability to give an audience what they wanted
I love your reactions. This 1970 Las Vegas Era of performance was fire! I was there to see him from the front row for 10 concerts and he was so awesome and incredible. I love the outfit, too.❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cain't help but move when Elvis sings this, huh? Just love him! I always wanted to go see him in person but i was young and never had the $$$. And then it was too late! 😢💔 When I heard of his passing, I cried for an entire day while listening to his songs on the radio! 😢 I loved that the radio station played him for an entire day for a tribute. I was driving across the State of Missouri then the entire State of Oklahoma! It was amazing that I could even see enough to drive! I will never forget it as long as I live! ❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢
Ronnie Tutt drums. This jumpsuit here is the Chain suit; the other jumpsuit you may be thinking of is the Concho suit, all white w-large silver circles that he wore at this period of his Vegas stint; his Hawaii suit was heavily encrusted w-colored jewels & a large jeweled eagle on the cape. Polk Sallet (correct spelling) is from the poisonous Pokeweed plant that can be eaten if picked in the spring & coked well. Take a look at the water throwing incident from '72 Hampton Roads when at the very, very start of the video Elvis called out “Please Release Me” but the band began playing “I Can’t Stop Loving You” - he didn’t stop them, he went right into the song, he then walked over to his glass of water, picked it up & playfully threw it at Glen @ piano -- a fun, energetic, powerhouse performance ua-cam.com/video/LNtP5Gd8QGE/v-deo.html; he did give a quick look of irritation @ beginning; just make sure you hear him say Please Release Me & then so it will make sense. Thanks.
Imagine the performances he could've had if he wasn't locked into the movies all those years. But you're correct - by the time he got these Vegas shows, he was 35 and going crazy on stage. My fav performance years also!
A great performance from Elvis boy could he move just awesome to think he was live Ronnie Tutt on the drums great connection between them loved your reaction thank you 😊
Love seeing you get immersed in Elvis’s performance. Elvis conducted his musicians. The drummer, Ronnie Tutt and his back up singers all had to watch Elvis like hawks to keep up and be prepared for Elvis’s spontaneity. Great reaction. Do listen to his gospel too. He won Grammy Awards for his Gospel song “ How Great Thou Art” 👌💕🕺
Jane H commenting ….. I always enjoy watching Elvis in action, from the start of his career, in his movies where he sings & dances, to his 68 Comeback Special where he dances during some of his songs, to the early 1970s. By 1973, he was suffering from osteoarthritis, probably due to all of that ‘gyrating’, & was in too much pain from that, to move about too much. And by 1974, he was slipping into some serious health issues. So I think you are right, when you say the early Vegas days were good for Elvis & great for his fans. Elvis loved performing live & his fans loved watching & listening to him. He sparkled like a diamond on stage.
MEMPHISROCKS1, Elvis Aaron Presley is King of Music, The True KING And ONLY Monarch for a reason, He started it all. The first of everthing music and entertaining. He Smashed the door down for more artist than any one before him, and opened the flood gates for artist that might not have never been heard. God made him and gifted him to be the greatest, The King of music, it was his destiny. He was not racist he loved and cared about everone. His music transcends time, It is timeless. As John Lennon said ''Before Elvis there was nothing''. Elvis Presley's influance on music and artist of all ages are endless. Too this day his music is as big today it was back when he was still living. He is still earning gold records. The Icon, The legeng, The untouchable, The Gladiator and King of stage. The King of song. The King of style, Elvis Aaron Presley. Greatest of all time. 1935 Untill the end of time.
Great reaction, as always, don't miss his Vagas 1970 performance of "Patch It Up'. others are "Walk a Miles in My Shoes", and "That Loving Feeling. You are a good reactor you really relate other of his performances back to the present. You are very sincere and I think you for keeping Elvis alive. Thanks and Be Blessed
If anyone says you talk too much when doing an Elvis reaction you need to ban them from your channel. Your insights are part of the best things going. You say you've heard Jailhouse Rock and Hound Dog but did you see the actual video of JR or the Ed Sullivan broadcast OF HD? Elvis's Vegas shows were lively but his stage performances of the songs I just mentioned and others in the 50s were the reasons for things like Sullivan shooting Elvis from the waist up on one appearance. Not to mention the 3 song stand up medley featuring Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog and All Shook Up from the Comeback Special. Presley was moving and grooving before it was acceptable in Vegas. If you haven't seen or heard the film or video on those performances you'd be doing Elvis justice if you did. Great reaction though.
Elvis was very much like Freddy, in that he had absolute mastery of the stage. Both men seemed utterly relaxed and in that flow state, no matter how many bodies were in front of them. This freed them up to be their best selves.
Thanks Man 😀. Yes the Elvis in the 50s was completely different to the one in the 70s, Then you had the 60s ,different again. And the comeback special of course. He had so many talent, He was a karate instructor, done some westerns. one with a beard. A boxing movie before Sylvester Stallone. He was great for charity, for the black community as well. 21 No 1 records. I could go on.

Why not try suspicious minds also from vegas 1970, i know youll love it! love Polk Salad Annie, but this is my favourite Elvis clip and im pretty sure your viewers will like it!
He was not allowed to dance too much. He had to refrain on certain stages. It looked indecent That is why u don't see much dancing ..on certain stages. He had a hard time!!
Great reaction; really enjoyed it. Regarding another white outfit, any chance you're thinking of the white suit Elvis wore for his "If I Can Dream" performance to close out the '68 Comeback Special. Thinking you'd also enjoy "Suspicious Minds" from the same residency; it also really demonstrates what an entertaining showman Elvis was. ua-cam.com/video/T1g5tVGZhfk/v-deo.html
great detailed review & reaction, however every elvis fans worst nightmare was re-lived when you turned your gaze away & in that split second elvis did something funny (in this case choking on mic) and you missed it. great show thank you
Thank you for nice rections please watch community black eccept Elvis echo part 1n2,..he Dedecated the song If l Can dream to MLK n R Kennedy after assassination love n miss him all this years✌️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
You should also react to the original artists version - it’s by Tony Joe White, who wrote the song. There’s a great version from old tv in black & white. It’s awesome. Just not as awesome as Elvis did it!
You should check out the original version by Tony Joe White. It was classified as "swamp rock". Tony was from Louisiana, and he had several good songs from the album this song came from.
Love this performance. Elvis owns the stage
Elvis was really like that first dude that had major swag and style incorporated with the bling 😂

No one hotter ever, ever. Ever anyone argue whether Elvis was THE ENTERTAINER or not, he certainly was for the ages!
2023 and Elvis still exudes that Mojo !!

Congratulations on your success!❤❤ Love your Elvis stuff. 😂😊
Elvis live is a must! We are so fortunate to be able to see these clips…So, why wouldn’t you?

Ronnie Tutt on drums and Jerry Scheff on Fender bass killed it on this song.
America's King: Elvis! ❤🇺🇲❤️
Con Elvis non si sbaglia mai!!!❤❤ ineguagliabile!!!
You get Elvis! He was incredible! So talented, so beautiful, one of a kind and his sex appeal was off the charts! Oh my Gawd!!
Great reaction, no one will ever come close to the great man. 💕💐
Hello from Australia.
THIS WAS WONDERFUL!!!! THANKS DREW!!!!!

Elvis, the King of Interpretation of this Tony Joe White penned number.

Elvis had great Vegas Shows, worth checking out! Love his ability to like the music flow through his whole body! Fantastic!

Greatest front man performance EVER!
Can't help but move...Lord have mercy! Love this performance....wish I'd been there. Speak-singing....origins of rap, yo 🙌🏼💯💃⚡🕺❤
It's a vamp. You can say that while Elvis goes into storytelling mode, the band vamps on that particular riff.
No one else comes close! Great reaction
Elvis was a great enertainer. ❤
You gave a great reaction to this classic Elvis performance. Very insightful comments about EP and Ronnie Tutt (drummer). ❤
A great performance from Elvis boy could he move just awesome to think he was live Ronnie Tutt on the drums great connection between them loved your reaction thank you 😊
اعظم فنان على مر العصور لم ولن يتكرر الملك بدون منازع
Elvis,
The Chuck Norris of swag.

I think this is my favorite of Elvis outfits too. But I also like the white one with red trim.
That's the 3rd suit I stand and stare at when I go to Graceland. First his leather suit then if I can dream then onto his chain suit.

Elvis was huge but imagine how big he would have been if he ever toured the world? He only went to Germany and that was in the Army not for music.

Elvis's drummer Ronnie Tutt
I love this. He's got many. " I just can't help believing" video 1970 ( I think 1970 vegas
Elvis was very much like Freddy, in that he had absolute mastery of the stage. Both men seemed utterly relaxed and in that flow state, no matter how many bodies were in front of them. This freed them up to be their best selves.
Now you need to see him do the Righteous Brothers' You've Lost that Loving Feeling.

I hadn't heard this one for too many years.
Talk! That’s why I watch!! ❤
Elvis's come back was full energy with a raw new voice also, but it was unfortunately the beginning of the end.
Watch the movie The Way it Was. The 1970 Vegas concert film. It’s his best performance..

The original of this song was written and performed by Tony Joe White. He’s from Louisiana.
You missed where he put the microphone in his mouth 😂
I got into so many arguments over who was better.
Elvis was one man….MJ needed a whole entourage on stage with him and lip syncing
I know I need me a mess a….
He was not allowed to dance too much. He had to refrain on certain stages. It looked indecent That is why u don't see much dancing ..on certain stages. He had a hard time!!
