I was pretty upset when I couldn't get through on the phone, but that time allowed me to realize that it wasn't the worker who was at fault it was the building owner. That helped a little bit with my frustration at that gentleman. Depending on my mood in the moment, I'm not always at cordial lol.
I know everything you are saying about winter. I love my winters it’s so beautiful ❤❤❤ but now that I have disabilities and use a power chair myself it’s not fun when it’s -35 and even colder with the wind chill 😂😂😂❤❤
I'm jealous! I want to be Canadian now. 🤣 Okay I will watch the rest of the video now. 🙏🏻😎 Seriously, isn't it sad how we have divided the earth in all these areas - which has resulted in severe desertification in some parts of the world - and turned it all into a circus. (I was born into a tiny country that is not my home.) Subbed instantly, btw. I'm a sucker for strong and independent people. ❤ Sorry if that sounds bad. Forgive me. I'm more than halfway through a bottle of Merlot and had a phone call with a vindictive, smallminded civil servant today. I hung up. Later: You made my world whole today. Thank you. 🙏🏻 I needed that.
@@Keepinitwheel306hey, I'm Dutch but I have lived in the US and the UK. I know what you mean and am looking into it. Sort of. 😊 (Oh, frrrrreedom!) Would like to get something going where I can stay 3 to 5 months in countries. I just spent more years in one place (which was a place in the UK) than I had ever done before except when I was a child. I've now been in another place and country for a year and it feels like a thousand years... The other place was better ( I just never knew that there is a lottery of ugliness everywhere). I never thought I would say that. Life's strange.
@Keepinitwheel306 maybe it's because I'm American that this is really shocking to me! I went thru an ADA assessment for opening a new hotel, and I learned a lot. Having a Disability Act is so important (sorry, I don't really know anything about Canadian Laws) It's just so shocking to see, like you said it's 2024!!
Oh wow! That's smart of you to carry a spare. I've had good luck with mine so far minus some smoky exhaust, but some kerosine through the tank cleared it up.
I just went to Vancouver (first ever visit to Canada as an adult) and found the accessibility there to be slightly worse than the US (I live in Los Angeles). This surprised me as I had expected Canada to be even further advanced in accessibility than the US. I am curious, as someone who has spent significant time in both countries, what you think in terms of accessibility in the US vs Canada. By the way I absolutely loved Vancouver and can't wait to go back, as well as visit some others parts of Canada!
Canada does not have the ADA, which means we only rely on building codes for accessibility guidelines - which are mediocre and there isn’t really a method of checking to see if businesses etc are complying unless you file a Human Rights Complaint. This is lengthy and draining. So to answer your question - it very much depends on the region. Bigger cities in Canada are pretty decent but small towns completely lack access. There’s a reason I go to California each winter …it’s the best place I’ve encountered.
@@Keepinitwheel306 Thanks for getting back to me and sharing your perspective! That makes total sense - I didn't realize that Canada didn't have an ADA equivalent. BTW I really enjoy your channel and watching your adventures!
I’m curious about your trail assessment: who do you do that through? I live in southeastern us and would love to improve the trails in my area! Thanks!!
@@user-zu7gk9ol9f that work has been through two different entities…one called AccessNow, which focuses on crowd sourcing accessibility information. And the other is the Trans Canada Trail, which has trail systems all across Canada
not really! I use full service stations when they’re available but for the most part getting gas is seamless. Once or twice I have encountered a pump that was on a curb and set back a bit but besides requiring a stretch to reach the handle it was ok
I can also deal with cold, at least you can dress for it. But as I described in the video, snow is a huge barrier for my wheelchair. Sometimes I couldn’t even get out my front door or push through a parking lot to get groceries. I’m glad I’ve found a way to avoid snow for the most part.
I live in Ohio, our winters are never that bad but when you mention the forced hibernation I understand completely. I am dependent on whether people shovel their sidewalks or not. I love the locations you pick. They are beautiful.

Get to know Jeffie Bear up in Canada !! You and he have a lot in common
Love this border crossing; never had any issues there when coming back to 🇨🇦 after 6 months of 🇺🇸.
Amazing! I’ve never been hassled at a border but that crossing was the slickest by far.
I feel like it's so easy to take things for granted, like being able to go into a FedEx. You face challenges with grace. Nice perspective shift on the snowy weather! Levi
I envy you for the snow because, in my entire life, I only experienced snow once, when I was 8 years old, and I don't quite remember it. I love you video from Morocco
Thank you! Snow can be enjoyable, but when you have to live with it for decades the appeal can wear off lol
@@Keepinitwheel306 Yeah, that happens with everything in life.
Time to come back to California.
@@slf994 I’d be there in a heartbeat if I had the VISA days. I have to be out of the USA for 6 months to let it reset.
You are totally amazing and you have such a great array of exciting activities that keep you active just knowing the kind of person you are the world is your oyster. You need to get a duel citizenship so you can come to the US and go as you please and I know you'd love Florida in the winter as much as you love Calif.
oooof yes I would love to citizenship, but the only way to do that is through an employer and I don't really wanna work in the US right now ha ha
I read through a number of comments. Many have used the word 'inspiration' to describe you. At the expense of excessive redundancy, I will do the same. I stumbled on your video by accident. I just got home from a social event. Many people were asking me about my upcoming surgery. I had to admit to them that I am concerned, if not a bit scared. I do a lot of outdoor recreation. I am concerned about my ability post surgery. I live in Regina and spend many weeks in BC pursuing adventure. I hope that will still be a part of my future. Your video spoke to me tonight. It said, "Stop worrying. Be brave." You are truly inspiring!!! I hope you understand how much you help and inspire others to be brave and courageous in their own endeavors, regardless of what they are. Perhaps finding your video was not an 'accident'. Thank You!!! 😊
Thank you! I hope surgery goes well, and just know there are so many adaptations out there now that you can explore no matter what.
Well i am in ontario, and would take SK hands down over this hell hole! Was raised in Thompson MB, winter was winter.......but spring always came.....
Great video! Thanks for taking us along on your journey, never been to Canada but it looks so beautiful up there ! Keep living the dream and we’ll be along for the adventures!😅
Thank you! Will do!
So I just saw you on Van City van life visiting with Chrome and Cruise and I think you're awesome! I have subscribe to your channel and hit the alarm bill and I look forward to following your van life. I wish you safe travels.
Awesome! Thank you, travels are going well and I'm managing to avoid the snow that's forecasted at home already :)
I hope your heater works propely❤❤❤🤗
It does as along as I have enough diesel! I can usually last for 3-4 days in that cold
I am impressed. Love from Denmark.
Appreciate you stopping by 🙌
You are such an inspiration and so glad we found your channel! Love your videos. Keep shining, your amazing ❤
Thank you! Will do!
Excellent video, content, and camera angles. You are an inspiration to all of us!
Lovely to hear that, thanks for watching
Continue to be a voice for accessability❤
I will, indeed, it has become a big passion of mine
Saw your video from cheapRVliving and that lead me to your channel, you do have one more follower from Spain now.
Welcome! Is there anything specific you’d like me to cover in a video?
@@Keepinitwheel306 Nothing in particular, just keep doing what you do, more than enough for me!!
The beautiful nature of Canada and the calm serenity of thought for a person is a relaxation - filling the body with fresh forces . Lisa, you are the author of the channel. Traveling through picturesque places, you are looking for a lot of vivid impressions leaving the hustle and bustle of big cities. This is your business, it is easy for you to find harmony and spiritual joy with it. I am interested in watching your channel from Russia. Canada and Russia are very close in terms of territory and climate. I have subscribed to your channel, if you are reading my comment, please write your answer.
Thanks for the sub!! I hope you’re able to leave the hustle and bustle of big cities now and then too.
You're simply amazing. 😊❤
Looks like quite a few of us are here checking out your channel since your interview with Bob...I'll have to binge watch to get caught up.
I will say its hard to believe Fedex didnt have wheel chair access..time for them to make some changes.
Well off to watch more of your past travels and adventures. Oh ya im a new subscriber 😊
A week later I ran into another inaccessible FedEx. Canada needs to adopt our own ADA!!
And yes, about 1,500 new subscribers since the interview with Bob uploaded yesterday! He has amazing reach. Thanks for being here and happy binging.
You go Lisa
So cool! Can't wait to check out channel! Saw you on vancity vanlife channel😊
yay for Chrome! welcome!
Wow! You handled the package with so much more grace than I could have! I would have thrown a big tantrum! It's good for people to get a better understanding of how thoughtless mainstream society can be. We have such a long way to go. If you got a bit pissed off camera I would not judge! I wanted to smack him and have a few sarcastic responses to his "Can I help you"? You have qualities that I still only aspire to. Thanks for the snow footage! I don't like being out in snow just because my hands and feet always freeze!
I was pretty upset when I couldn't get through on the phone, but that time allowed me to realize that it wasn't the worker who was at fault it was the building owner. That helped a little bit with my frustration at that gentleman. Depending on my mood in the moment, I'm not always at cordial lol.
Huge respect.
@@ttullis1 🙌 thank you!
I know everything you are saying about winter. I love my winters it’s so beautiful ❤❤❤ but now that I have disabilities and use a power chair myself it’s not fun when it’s -35 and even colder with the wind chill 😂😂😂❤❤
Winter = hibernation for those of us with mobility devices. I hope you find a way to manage!
I'm jealous! I want to be Canadian now. 🤣 Okay I will watch the rest of the video now. 🙏🏻😎
Seriously, isn't it sad how we have divided the earth in all these areas - which has resulted in severe desertification in some parts of the world - and turned it all into a circus.
(I was born into a tiny country that is not my home.)
Subbed instantly, btw.
@@I-talk-about-tough-topics if you’re American, you can do the same thing as me. 6 months in each country haha
@@Keepinitwheel306hey, I'm Dutch but I have lived in the US and the UK. I know what you mean and am looking into it. Sort of. 😊
(Oh, frrrrreedom!)
Would like to get something going where I can stay 3 to 5 months in countries.
@@Keepinitwheel306 btw, it's against the law in my tiny country to sleep in a vehicle unless on a paid campsite
❤From Italy
Put a friggin call box outside Holy crap. I'm sorry that office really had me 😲😳
A week later I had the same scenario at a second FedEx in BC. So disappointing in this day!
Canada doesn’t have a disability act yet but it is in the works. I really hope it helps but I’m not getting my hopes up too high.
@Keepinitwheel306 brand new to your channel and I apologize for opening with a rant lol got a new follower here😁
No apology needed! I’m glad someone else was also frustrated with FedEx
I'am afraid my dieselheather shot off or troubleshot so i have a spear diesel pump just in case😀
Oh wow! That's smart of you to carry a spare. I've had good luck with mine so far minus some smoky exhaust, but some kerosine through the tank cleared it up.
Good👍
wow, respect! How can you finance your lifestyle?
I have passive income from rental property and I’m able to do remote presentations while I’m away in the winter.
I'm a full-time wheelchair user and would like to know the name of the lift you use to get in and out of the van please.
@@leglessnotlifeless it’s called a Superarm. It’s so much better than a platform lift.
Thank you!
I was wondering if you ever have any problems getting gas.
not really! I use full service stations when they’re available but for the most part getting gas is seamless. Once or twice I have encountered a pump that was on a curb and set back a bit but besides requiring a stretch to reach the handle it was ok
As a Canadian, I don’t think I can ever live without the cold - rather take the cold over the heat any day.
I can also deal with cold, at least you can dress for it. But as I described in the video, snow is a huge barrier for my wheelchair. Sometimes I couldn’t even get out my front door or push through a parking lot to get groceries. I’m glad I’ve found a way to avoid snow for the most part.
❤❤
Goodonyas...go get'm tiger!
I live in Ohio, our winters are never that bad but when you mention the forced hibernation I understand completely. I am dependent on whether people shovel their sidewalks or not. I love the locations you pick. They are beautiful.
Yes, I wish everyone could spend a day with a mobility device and see how hard it is to get around - maybe then they’d clear their sidewalks!!
@@Keepinitwheel306 I couldn’t agree more, they might also not block the sidewalks with cars then too.
Winter ist Bullshit.Carbattery gets Low! Fahr eine 2te Autobatterie mit Stadtkabel spazieren!!!
How do you charge your mountain bike in the van ?
I have a full electrical system in my van with 110 volt inverter. I also just got a BLUETTI power pack for extra capacity
Rain....what rain....LOL
My campsite was so muddy I barely left the van haha
Y I u are beatoful soul
