Chad is a class act. He has never bad mouthed Kurt or Krist and he gave the band stability when they really needed it. His drumming was stellar on Bleach too.

Chad was always a important part of Nirvana, he made some awesome drum parts and he also seems like a likable guy and a good person. We should appreciate the part he played in making Nirvana sound how they did.
Chad was a great drummer and wrote some good stuff with Nirvana. And he helped with forming Nirvana's original sounding blueprint. This cant be taken away and he is in the musical history books now. But Dave did just have something many other drummers just didn't have, like more edge or something to his playing style. Dave was a heavy hitter. I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision for Kurt and Krist.
Chad Channing was a big influence on my drumming. I love Dave Grohl too but there is something unique in Chad's grooves. Would have been great to hear more of him.
It will always and forever be a tragedy and embarrassment that Chad wasn’t inducted to the HOF with the band. Dave and Krist wanted it, but the HOF people didn’t. Dumb.

Downer, Beeswax, Mexican Seafood, Hairspray Queen, and Aero Zeppelin were all culled from the Crover demo. Chad plays drums on Dive, Stain, Been A Son, and Big Long Now. Danny Peters plays drums on Sliver, and Dave Grohl is the drummer for the rest of the tracks on Incesticide. 👍🏼
This makes me want to cry... I really feel for Chad in this interview. Good guy who lost a friend he cared for. Seems it's because of that psychic bond that he somehow knew it was Kurt's death being announced on the radio, noting he didn't know why or how, he just knew. Not because he thought it was due to drugs. Also at the beginning of the interview, he said he hated the comparisons, that Kurt wasn't anything like that. Towards the end of it, he says he was quiet, but it was good. I love the "Bleach" album, it's my favorite, even though I love all Nirvana songs (and all members)! Thanks Chad for your input to the album and the band. I pray you find healing in the unfortunate loss of such a special person as Kurt Cobain.

I saw them on their European tour. 1989. It was a great concert from an unknown band back then. It was clear to me, that it was a magic night. All three formed an union. Kurt was very happy. Never saw him again that happy…

I saw Chad come into the marijuana store I worked at. He was super unassuming. Just looked like a regular guy with long hair. I would have never have thought he played a big part in such a legendary band. My coworker told me who he was and I said "really? Damn I've seen that guy around for years! I never knew." I grew up in the town next to Bainbridge where Chad lives.

Chris and kurt recollected once that after they met chad to tell him they were going to get a new drummer and he was out of the band, when the travelled back home, they felt like they had just killed someone. It must have been hard for chad to witness from afar nirvana's success during and post nevermind's release. Rolling stone once said that it must have felt like winning the lottery only to find that you lost the ticket.

Bleach was the real identity of Nirvana for some artistic reason. Though there are some Bleachy songs on the next two albums like In Bloom, Territorial P, Breed, Lounge Act, Serve the Servants, All Apologies, Aneurysm, Milk it and Frances Farmer.
Even if Kurt didn't like his playing, I liked the grooves Chad created over the few I liked that Dave did with In Utero. Dave's best groove creation was the first FF solo project.

Bleach is a great album. Probably my favorite from Nirvana. Chads a great drummer. And he seems like an all around cool Cat.

Honestly, bleach is so good! It’s the one album that catches Kurt’s and Nirvana’s humour, sarcasm and weirdness. Like In Utero it’s true alternative.

I think that his drum style was to groovy... dave is much more of a square drummer Nirvana needed.
He will get a hell of a lot of royalties. Even their first drummer that did some scratchy live recordings gets about 500 a month.

Bleach was the real identity of Nirvana for some artistic reason. Though there are some Bleachy songs on the next two albums like In Bloom, Territorial P, Breed, Lounge Act, Serve the Servants, All Apologies, Aneurysm, Milk it and Frances Farmer.

Even if Kurt didn't like his playing, I liked the grooves Chad created over the few I liked that Dave did with In Utero. Dave's best groove creation was the first FF solo project.
