Hey kaylee, jordan and sadie happy that you guys made it back safely to Panama and reunited with Lola, Rodrigo and Freddie
I was getting so worried I knew you guys were exhausted from videotaping so much but I’m so happy to see you come on back on here❤
Me too!
I was soo spoiled seing there faces every day . 48. Videos in a row . Awsome & you made a lot of people happy along the way .
Yes, I was getting worried, too. Glad you are back in Panama.
Long journey, proposal, panama. These guys have been so fun to stay up with
Yes, to see the videos and your life/ progress again.
Don't worry about that bottom board, it will be hidden anyway! Great to see you guys back on the farm, your welcome with the balloons and gift basket from Rodrigo was so sweet!! Love you guys!
We got SPOILED with the DAILY VIDEOS!!!
Hope you all had a great time with family, during the holidays. Can't wait to see what you guys are up to next.🩷
The wood stains differently because the wider boards have to be cut closer to the interior of the tree, therefore their density is different and it soaks up stain differently. If you want it all to match, you need to use the same size boards from the same lot. It may not be possible if your lumber supplier doesn't know the source of the wood.
Thank you!
Of course, the difference in the wood can cause the stain to take differently but you need to use a wood conditioner it will allow the stain between different types of woods to absorb more evenly.
That’s so good to know Burke! Helpful info for lots of us DIYers!👍✌️
Commercial grade lumber goes through so many steps that it would be highly, very highly unlikely that two pieces it a stack will be from the same tree. Some pieces accept stain faster, some slower. The person applying the stain has to know the shade that is wanted.
So basically stain all of your trim before the first cut… so as to sort thru the shades for the project??
another DIYer🤗
Kaylee one of my favorite parts of any video is when Sadie helps you bake!!❤
Congrats on making it home. I will say I am IMPRESSED with the people of Panama. They love their land and protect it with a god like strength.
Yes WE DO . We want Panama Green (VERDE ) the way it is . WE PROTECT OUR RAINFOREST .!! 👍😎🇵🇦🌎
I wish more had been mentioned about the victory of the people of Panama. The Supreme Court and the people won against a "big business entity" and corruption. Congratulations for their win for democracy!!
Sadly much was misrepresented by the unions and politicians. After that decision the country will no longer have the export revenue that it desperately needs and many thousands have lost their jobs. The company that was affected was very careful with environmental concerns and looking after the people of the area. I’m not sure what will happen to Panama now that this has happened as a huge debt to repay too as well as losing all the income. Such a shame that the truth was manipulated in all the hype.
@@neritzayelenaThat's so awesome. Nowadays people no longer care what they destroy to make a quick dollar.
@@jennichristie5264 "careful with environmental concerns and looking after the people." We heard from the locals of cancers, kidney disease and dead fish. I for one, do not trust the "corporation."
Seems mining of any mineral is a dirty business.
"When the Last Tree Is Cut Down, the Last Fish Eaten, and the Last Stream Poisoned, You Will Realize That You Cannot Eat Money"
That USA tour was possibly the best timed trip you guys ever made! And utterly fabulous viewing!! I love you guys and Sadie is a wee sweetie ❤ its lovely to see you all home 🏡
Be ready for Sadie to zoom right past you guys in her Spanish. Children's brains are incredibly pliable and receptive to acquiring second languages.
Her parents should have learned Spanish wayyyy by now. Lame.
Even though the last three months, you can tell how much more her speech has evolved. It’s amazing.
@@juliebugiyne4121That pause has been the time of “digestion” any brain needs to process and grow when learning new stuff 😉
@@kookietherapy9398 - Kaylee and Jordan DO know and speak a lot of Spanish in the videos. @Graybeard was noting, is that Sadie will be a near native in her Spanish speaking but, for her parents - even when they become fluent - Spanish will always be a second language. In other words, Sadie will have two "first" languages; her parents will have first and second languages.
I can attest to this. I have been learning Chinese for 7 years. This year we decided to return to Beijing, my 6yr old has been here for 6 months, and her Chinese is way ahead of mine already. It’s incredible.. she’s having full conversations in Chinese when I can only understand 70% of what she’s talking about lol
That bottom wood being stained different isn’t a bad look. I wouldn’t over think that part. The whole job came out looking great
Welcome home you guys. was so nice of Rodrigo and Fredie to get Sadie a Panda Bear. Has Sadie asked for a metal swing set yet? As she would love to have one on your farm.
🐼 & 🌈 will never L👀K Right to me again.
Welcome home neighbors! Glad you made it back safely!
Just a hint from a professional tile-setter family: Muriatic acid on cheese cloth is normally used to remove the grout scum and clean up the joints.
yes and ventilate like crazy while using
Yay!! Finally back home especially to see Lola and give her loads of family hugs
I'm sure Bobby and Freddie were so happy to see you guys...and Sadie was really happy to see Uncle Rodman...however, although all the puppies were overjoyed to see you guys...I know in my heart, that Lola was super happy and relieved to see you guys....now she can rest easy...she just had so much pressure being in charge of everything on her farm...:) I am very glad you guys are back and the shower will probably be finished in your next vlog...cheers!
I have missed you guys so much -after having a video every day this has been torture!!!
I'm glad to see you are back on UA-cam and Panama 😊
Welcome back home guys. I hope Sadie tells Rodrigo about seeing him on traffic lights in the USA. 😀 The shower looks great and you all look so happy.
So happy you got to go back home to Lola's farm! The bathroom is looking great its going to be a huge upgrade in quality of life you you guys. Also huge props to Rod for holding down the farm while y'all was away.
Happy to see you all and glad you can return to your farmily and home ❤️
I never left Panama since I got stranded in March 2020. My girlfriend did fly (no glue how often) to Colombia, visiting her family. Every time, her family invited me. Every time I say: No gracias. I am 60 now. Getting stranded, not able to fly back to your house does something in your head. (Especially in my head.) I tried 2 years to fly back to Edmonton Alberta, but I was always told: Your travel isn’t necessary. In November 2021, I was longer than 2 years out of Canada. ( As a permanent resident of Canada, you must be 3 years physically in Canada out of 5 to renew your permanent residency!) So I sold everything and stayed put. Bought a small lot in the San Carlos district and building my house. All by myself. All the roadblocks happened somewhere else in Panama. Not in the Coronado area. Losing my permanent residency in October 2024 doesn’t bother me anymore. And yes. We had some shortages of produce and dairy products in the supermarkets. But hey. You could always get some cold beer! And roadblocks are a Panamanian tradition. A minority takes the whole country hostage and the government - does absolutely nothing about it! “Buenvenido Panama!” Just forgot: Termites! Absolutely nothing on my house is made with wood. Even the wood skids of the cement blocks get eaten away! Before I move into my house, it will be war against this termites. 😅
Sadly, Canada can no longer be considered a loss, BC it is just plain lost, just like USA.
I enjoyed the 48 state trip but am SO glad you are back in Panama! I love Lola's Farm and all 2 & 4 legged residents!
Realitys..
❤ @12:37 🐶 Lola girl on the couch is my favorite moment of your homecoming!! 🏡 Love from Cynthia on the Coast of Oregon!! 🇺🇲 #davesandersstepdaughter
Glad you are safe and sound!!! Lola missed you sooo much 😂❤
Yay! The fam is back in Panama! Reunited and it feels so good!
Whew!!! I know I’m not the only one who can sleep again at night knowing you’re back in Panama!!! What a USA coffee adventure!! You guys NEVER cease to amaze!!!💜💚❣️💙❤️
Lol, I'm missing your daily video's, but so happy you made it back safely to Panama! Looking forward to see the final results of the bathroom and windows!🌻
Yay for going home!! 🥰❤️ Rodrigo filled up your propane tank for you! 🙌🏻🎉✨😂
Absolutely THRILLED to spend 48 days straight with you kids and so glad you got home safely and your home country is back to normal. Missed you posting these last few weeks but we all knew you needed to have a nice break! Big hugs and glad to see you both bringing the muscle to finish the bathroom. Can't WAIT to see the sauna when it is finished.
Glad y’all made it back to Panama ! Seeing Lola’s reunion with you was priceless.
Awwwwww ✨✨🤍✨✨my heart sings with joy watching y’all reconnect with Lola’s farm, Rodrigo Freddie & Lola & just being back in your beautiful , gorgeous home ✨✨🤍🌞🤍✨✨
Just love to hear Sadie’s laugh! 😂❤️
She is precious and so bright!!
Welcome back to UA-cam! We missed you but so glad you have made it back to your home. As Dorothy said; There’s no place Love home!” 😊
Welcome home! I'm so glad the situation cleared up so you could return as planned!
Good to see you made it back to your beautiful homestead! ❤🎉 Those are drywall screws, and not made to go through heavy metal beams. If you can order stainless steel screws online, that would be the way to go.
Great video, so happy to see you home. Just a thought, with the humidity so high there in Panama you may want to run a blowing fan on your windows so you dont get condensation on them that ruins the wood. Same with the toilet...I know you can cut up a styrofoam cooler and put the pieces on the walls of the toilet tank to help with sweating. Love your bathroom, you're going to be so happy to have it all up and running.
Your "48-states-in-48-days" trip was an amazing accomplishment and you created memories that will last a lifetime, especially for Sadie. I'm so glad you made it back home to Panama! What a relief for all of you. Congratulations :D
Glad to see he back! The wood accents in the bathroom are taking it to a whole other level of classy!! It's going to look SO incredibly beautiful with your light fixtures etc.
First!!! YAY!! You 3 belong in Panama!!! Sooooo excited to see you all back to work getting your home completed. It’s an amazing process to watch!!
Missed u
Yay, you made it back home. Awww Lola and the puppies and how happy they were to see you all again. Just precious.
What a wonderful surprise to see your family today ❤️. Have truly missed all of you and so happy you are back in Panama ❤ doing a fabulous job on the farm 🚜 ❤❤❤
Glad yall made it home.
Bet Sadie is happy
Welcome home, you’ve been missed. I hope you all have had some time of rest and to recoup!!! You all looked so happy and relived to be back and a bit more settled. I’m. Looking forward to continue following you on Lola’s Farm😊🙏♥️
Yay! Home safely and happy, just what I prayed for!! When Rodrigo and Freddie let us know things were better in Panama a few days ago, I started the countdown to y'all getting back home. Looking so forward to your futures! ♥️♥️♥️
It's fantastic you were able to go home! After the non-stop 48-day project, and non-stop socializing wherever you were staying afterward, it must be SUCH a RELIEF to be back in the mountains.
I'm proud of J. for stepping up to the plate and popping the question. So happy for you guys. Sadie's laugh is so precious.
Congratulations on making it home to your farm, friends and all your critters. The different stain colors make the bathroom look unique and unique is a wonderful thing. God bless.
So happy to see you back on Lola’s farm. I bet you , the animals were happy to see you too. Such warm welcome from Rodrigo, Freddi, Carlos and Enrico. 🎉🎉🎉
When it comes to mortar or grout, keep a big clean water bucket near you with a sponge (junky sponge for mortar, nice, new sponge for grout) Wipe as you go for nice even grout lines, don't let it set up for more than 10 or 15 minutes before gently wiping clean (diagonally) over and over and over again. If you wipe too hard or too much vertical or horizontal it digs out the grout. Diagonally helps solve this issue. It is tedious but less time consuming than cleaning dried on material! Maybe this will help on future projects! Love watching your farm grow!
Thank God you're home safely. 😊❤
I think that one Pine board looks fine a different color it adds character❤ that's a beautiful bathroom welcome back home. See y'all in the videos❤ I love the panda he's such a sweet guy❤ Sadie is such a sweetheart. Y'all are a wonderful family
GREAT TO SEE YOU BACK IN YOUR ELEMENT...YOU GUYS ARE SO BLESSED. DID YOU EVER THINK THAT YOU GUYS WOULD BE WHERE YOUR AT WHEN YOU STARTED THIS JOURNEY, HOW LONG AGO!!!🎉❤ I WAS AMAZED YOU SAID MY NAME ON HOW MANY DAYS YOU HAD LEFT TO GET TO VERMONT. MUCH LOVE AND WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOUR FAMILY DOME DAY...MISSED SEEING YOU EVERYDAY AS 1000 PEOPLE FEEL THE SAME!!
The USA Toir was incredible. Welcome Home guy's, from South Africa. So so happy for you all.
Glad your all back home safely! And Sadie is just Beautiful !!❤❤❤❤
WELCOME HOME !!! Glade you made it back home safely !!!
Glad to see you all made it back safely. Lola must be happiest of all. Sadie seems so incredibly happy being on the farm and she seems to be waaaay more chattie with uncle Rod. Sooooo cuuuuute!
Bathroom looking good. The pine will all age in time so would not worry about it xxx
Awe there really is no place like home ❤ you get to enjoy the beauty of what ALL your hard work created again. Priceless 😊
So glad you were blessed to get back home safely. 😊
I'm so happy that you were able to return home safely.
Glad you’re home to your happy place. Maybe that one piece of wood wasn’t pine, but put in the pine group. I think it looks great on the bottom of the wall. Like you did it on purpose. Lovely stain. Hope you keep it. Can’t wait for your next video!!
So glad to see you made it back home!
Glad you got back safe to Panama and that all has settled down. I loved how the people found the coffees in USA. What I would like to know is what they thought of the taste of the coffees. Would be interesting.
I wish I could rent the bus and stay this winter in Panama ! It is so cold on my bones .. I was raised homesteading and gardening ! I could help you get food preservation going and organic
So happy to see you guys back with the Panama Pham. That was a pretty dirty trick that Rodrigo played on you but it was cute. Can’t wait to see both of you guys start evolving your homes even further. Your permanent home sounds like you’re planning to build and Rodrigo’s home has been exciting to see evolve. Unless I was so happy to see u reunite with Lola girl. She was in good hands for sure.
Rodrigo is so precious!!
If things don’t work out with him and this new girl, let me know how to apply to be next in line.
My mother is from La Concepcion but I have lots of maternal relatives in David, Volcan, and Boquete. My father is an American expat whose family came from Maine to work for the Panama Canal. I am so glad you have discovered the magic of the mountains in Chiriqui and the wonderful people of Panama. I hope to visit soon. I am glad you guys love this area!
I got a bunch of Cumaru 20 years ago. It's not real expensive wood. It's used a lot for decks and boardwalks.
Outdoors in the Florida sun and humidity it just turns grey, even without any paint or finish on it.
If I lay any other wood on the ground, little termite-like worms will bore into it from the underside, except for the Cumaru.
No bugs can touch it. It is about 3 times as dense as White Oak.
They used it to repair a section of the New Jersey Boardwalk. A fire later destroyed the Boardwalk except for the Cumaru section, which didn't burn. A similar species is Ipe.
So glad you got home safe and sound. Sadie is happy to be home as well.
Jordan, you are doing a fantastic job on the bathroom, I think you are in your element! It’s looking beautiful.
Kaylee, I could literally see stress and tension leave your body when you got home.
Jordan, pine is soft and absorbs stain in weird ways. Don’t sweat the small stuff!!
If it was the bottom of the can the color that gives the stain its color may have settled in the can making the stain darker. You need to keep the color suspended throughout the time you are using it. Keep stirring the can to do this.
YAY!!!! I've missed you guys so much. I would check every day, so much so to where I saw this video when it had only been posted for 1 minute. lol lol Yeah you guys are like family to me.
Your joy at being back in Panama is palpable!! I understand completely as we used to live in Roatan Honduras for 10 years and every time we saw the island from the air and later began to melt in the humidity and were greeted so kindly by everyone, our hearts would just soar! Welcome home! Btw, the shower looks awesome.
I am so happy for you to be back in Panama. You all look so happy. Lola was so sweet at the airport. She missed you. ❤
Pro tip. After you get down grouting and sponging it all down. Let it set for a few hours. Get some fresh clean water and get some fresh terry towels, get them damp, use to buff out the tiles and smooth the grout down. It will buff tiles and remove the haze and removes all the grout stuck to tiles where you don't want it. Been tiling for years this way. It works.
12:34 Love Lola! 😂❤
Welcome home Kaylee Jordon and Sadie . We've missed you on the farm . Shower is looking amazing 😊
So glad that you are going to continue your podcast. By they way, I ordered some coffee from Wild Roots. I do love it. Thank you for joining up with Wild and Wonderful off grid in West Virginia. I have family that lives in the Romney area! Small world for sure! Love you guys, sending hugs to Sadie and Congratulations on your engagement!!❤💙❤
I remember you leveling the bus at the top of the property. I love you guys and continue to be impressed by the tasks you take on and accomplish. Much respect to you and your beautiful family.
Glad everyone is back together in Panama!!! Welcome home guys!
You guys are one beautiful family!!! Always take care of each other…It makes my heart so happy to see the kind of love you have for one another…Total respect!!!👠🚌👠
Jordan-A trick for the screw problem is to pre-drill the holes with smaller diameter drill bits.Kind of a hassle, but it save the screws!
glad to see your home safe and sound, many cups of java ........................❤❤❤❤❤❤
Advice: use the wore out screws to replace a screw that has the hole through the metal already. Basically it is only the point that is stripped. Hope that this helps. Good to see yous back home, happy and safe!🙏
Hi Jordan, Kaylee, and Sadie, You know what Kaylee, its true w😊hat they say:'Absense makes th😊e jeart grow fonder!!'. When Sadie ealked in the house just now I could hear the LOVE in your voice when you welcomed her home. It was the same for me when we jad a babysitter. A relief to have a break but we missed our boys like crazy and were so happy to come back home to our three boys!!! 😁🥰♥️🤗🤗
Hi. Its soo nice to have U guys back. I am a pensioner living in Cape Town South Africa and I have been following U for some time. It was amazing to have the daily videos when U were doing 48 states in 48 days. U list have been utterly shattered after that. Welcome back
Try a very light sanding on that baseboard. That should take away some of the "darkness" of the stain. And, WELCOME HOME!!! We're all happy to see you guys back home!
It's so good to see you all back in Panama. The dogs were so happy to see you. It was straight back to business for you, finishing the grouting in the bathroom., it looks beautiful. I love the way you covered the metal on the windows with the pine, it gives a lovely finish to it all. 👍😀💝💝💝
Congratulations. Glad you're home! Isn't It nice to be back home with your pets and animals, It seems like they just bring life back into perspective. All the best until next time.
Hi guys, good video. Awesome job on the tile. I’m glad you guys made it back safe and sound little Sadie. She sure is growing up fast. Ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Seeing you work on the grout and silicone with such care to make sure it gets done properly makes me happy. In my rental the "professionals" my landlord hired did such a crappy job with the silicone for the tub surround that I bought some silicone to fix it myself. There are so many areas that are so bad and not sealed at all probably easy 30-40% of it has no silicone. So will be fixing in the next few days. I used to work with this stuff so I know the difference in a sloppy job but actually sealed and a job that's just not even done with any care at all. I totally get it Jordan I do the same thing and inspect tiles and other stuff like that when somewhere else, it's just part of how it goes. Welcome back! So glad to see you made it back safe and that things have calmed down
Your bathroom is looking stunning! I believe the difference in stain color is due to the fact that that board may have come from the 'heart' of the tree. What is commonly termed 'heartwood', it has a different density & ability to soak up the stain differently, even though it may have come from the same tree. Unless you can recognize the difference in woodgrains, or your supplier can (which they hopefully should be able to) you will encounter the same results. So good to see you back on the land with Lola girl 🙂
Agree with this Comment. To restate: The permeability of the wood for stain is a function of the part of the log that produced it. In this particular case I believe you fell into a great contrast - because the bottom darker trim yields a “base board” look to the whole window array. Neighbor Dennis, Jaramillo Arriba.
Ps. The lesson of the protests? Get 4 back up tanques BEFORE you need them. See Luigi B.
Welcome Home Guys! I followed u on ur journey across the U.S. everyday. Still, I missed u on ur break away from vlog. Enjoy ur homestead & ur beautiful life n Panama. ❤God bless
Welcome back, you guys are insane! Less than a day back & you're DIY'ing! I've been in my current house over three 'n a half years & I've assembled 6 pieces of flat pack furniture!!! 😅
Thanks for the new video that made me so so happy ❤Seeing Sadie being so happy to be home and getting back to her home and life there at Lola’s,and Sadie’s , farm she really is home ❤The bathroom is also happy to have you guys home and Rod and Freddie as well as all the other people working there must have missed you terribly maybe fearing never to see you again but happy times are here and for me you are American Panamanians with a wonderful beginning there in a little bus on a beautiful mountain top😊Take care ❤❤❤
Home safe and sound. Use drywall screws galvinized, also there are different typs of pine. It will stain different colors. Just use a littledarker stain. You got this! Love y'all. ❤❤❤.
Welcome home, glad you're all back at Lola's farm. I know Lola is... ❤❤❤❤
When you are putting the screw to the wood, have your gun on reverse. Force the screw through the wood. then put your gun to forward when it hits the metal. It will go right in the metal without breaking the tip-off. Because it doesn't matter what s**** y** use or where you buy it when it goes through the wood on forward as soon as it hits metal. It's gonna break the tip-off. Sometimes you get lucky and it doesn't.I mean, That's the way we do it in the Union. our local Boston Union.. you guys have a great day. I love what you're doing.❤🎉 Oh yeah merry christmas and happy new year
I have been a contractor and wood worker for over 40 years. Pine or other open grain woods will react to humidity drastically. If it was outside in high humidity, it will take stain more. When this is a problem, we seal the wood with a clear sealer before staining. You can check the humidity of the wood with a moisture meter to see if all the boards are the same % of moisture. However, there is no guarantee with wood that it will take stain the same. Different boards, different moisture, different person staining, different applicator, different temperature outside (since is was sundown when you stained). All these things make a difference. Some people use a poly-stain or lacquer-stain to make the wood appear even. This is almost like painting. Pine is a bear to stain. I have never liked staining pine.
Hehe love it that when you guys travel to Mass and you go back to Panama your accent is moree pronounced. Love seeing all the work and community you've created. Signed a southern mass gal.
So happy to see you back on Lola's Farm, safe and sound. Thumbs up and a lot of love to you all, from S. California.
