Making Butterflies out of Autumn Leaves - Nail Design Tutorial!

Heya Duck! In today's video, we are going to be doing some leaves but they will be in the shape of a Butterfly! Keep watching!
I'll start by giving these a think coat of the base I just gave them a clean-over with the clean-up solution on a lint-free pad just before we started and now we can go in with with icing sugar on the middle two fingers and I'll give them a cure and then ill do the rest in green and we are using Mick with that done they can go in the lamp.
I have decanted some gels onto my pallet and I’m going to be using Andy, Mick, Sours, Suki, Sandra and pumpkin spice and I’ll add some Cola and some Vamp to those as well.
I’ll start with Sandra and create these large wing/leaf shapes one one of the nails i'll do the top two nails in this colour and on the other I’ll do the bottom leaves with Sandra then I’ll move on to Mick and I’ll do the remaining wings with that colour.
Then I'll use My other colours to add details to these shapes so for my green shape I'll use Andy, Sours and Suki and then for my yellow, I can use pumpkin spice and cola and vamp.
When I’m happy with those leaves I’ll add a drop shadow using the Void gel with some base coat I’ll give those a mix and apply the shadow to the icing sugar background colour to create a parallax.
Now I’ll take Void on its own using the Lily Liner Brush and I’ll outline the design and cure that.
And then I'll add some highlights to the design using the White-Out Gel again with the Lily Liner.
Now I'll go over the design nails with a think layer of the base coat and cure that and then I can go over that with the Matte topcoat and then I'll use Narla a Jelly topcoat in orange to Droplets throughout this design and then I’ll add some Crystals to this design to create the body of our Butterfly and don’t forget to add Antenna!
I’ll add a little bit of gloss topcoat over the Antenna and I'll gloss topcoat the green nails and that's it! I hope you enjoyed the video and I'll see you in the next one! T’Rah Duck!

Kirsty, I’m a grown man, I live alone, I work, I come home, I do schoolwork for business school, and honestly, your channel is the most comforting channel for me to watch. I’ve been watching your channel for years, but lately I’ve been binging it like mad. I just moved into a new place on my own, and I’ve had your channel on religiously while I unpack and settle in and it has become a staple for me. It is so fascinating to me what you do and I am enthralled by every video I see. Given that I’m a guy and I don’t wear nails, nor do I ever have a desire to wear nails, let alone paint them, I am truly fascinated by your skills, your artistry, and your creativity. I think Adam is hilarious and I think you guys have a great banter together. But I have a question, would you be willing to do Adam’s nails on camera to give us guys tips on how we can keep our nails clean and well manicured? You don’t have to do extreme nails on him, let alone paint his nails, but just to give us guys tips on how to keep our nails clean, well manicured, and manly? I don’t bite my nails, and I keep them well trimmed, but what else can I do to keep my hands and nails healthy and in top shape? I know most men don’t really care about this, but I like to take care of myself. Just a thought…
Awwww I love your comment! I feel the same, I’ve matched Kirsty since the pandemic when she did content for naio nails and absolutely adore her work. As for men keeping their nails clean and trim I think it’s absolutely essential and hope men feel better about their self care routine to be able to do things like skincare and nails without it chipping away at their manliness. I do my own gel nails, having learnt so much from Kirsty and other techs I decided to start doing my own and it seems I have somewhat of a talent for it. Thankfully my Mr loves being pampered, likes to look put together & clean cut so is happy for me to give him a manicure. The main aspects of a a male centered nail service I would say centres around cleaning up the cuticle and any dry skin and/or hangnails, trimming, filing, shining, and maybe a couple coats of base coat if you feel like it. Trimming the proximal fold isn’t absolutely necessary, and you might want to steer clear of it right now as a beginner, but I find for my Mr, especially as he is a driver and is quite a oily person, I find his proximal fold grows down his nail plate causing a big flap when I push it back to clean the cuticle area. So I do trim what I can, but the best thing I think you could possibly do is use a softening hand cream and cuticle oil daily. Good hydration, and locking it in will keep the skin around your nails healthy which should lead to less of a cuticle clean up especially if you get a hand cream with Urea. Hope that helps!

This is stunning! I don't usually disturb the fallen leaves since the honeybee queens use them as winter protection but it's hard to ignore them at first.

I’ve seen you do some gorgeous nails but there’s something about these that stand out as quite possibly my favorite. Don’t know why. Maybe the simplicity, maybe the fall colors, the matching tones of the crystals - dunno.

Hi Kirsty! In America we call them Roller rinks, not discos, but there are are very few left. They have fallen out of favor and disappeared in the last 30 years.

I have a question: I've been doing my nails for 4 years practicing on myself. Now one of my friends wants me to do her nails and I'm not sure if I could pull it off. The reason being is I never had the opportunity to practice on someone else. There's my logic, what do I do?
