Hi Ian, you won’t regret that purchase as Lifepo4 is a game changer. I have two, an 18ah one for the radio which will last two contests before charging and 50ah one for my 240v which will last 3 contest before charging. Hopefully catch you on Tuesday night. 73 Ian👍
A good vid Ian, my own Lead battery is also suffering voltage drop on contest night. I now have a 22ah Lifepo4 as a back up! Hope to catch you on the 70cm UKAC tomorrow, 73
Good choice! I think you know I went to LiFePO4 in my van, and will never go back! 280Ah for a weekend of ATV activities is just about enough... lol I'm still looking for an RF 'clean' charger too...
Thanks Rob. First outing on Thu, then I’ll add more load in future outings and see what I can achieve 🤞🏻I must catch up with you one time when you’re /P to see ATV in action 😀
Hi Ian, Subscriber for a while now and in past videos you have been operating from your Caravan We spend 90 days every 180 days touring France in Spain in our Motorhome, it’s almost impossible to operate HF due to both RF RX & TX either by using Habitation Batteries or EHU using Power Supply, Antennas either Mag/Stud mounted on Tow Eye, external Dipoles etc just totally crash MoHo Control Panel, so it’s both RX Noise & RFI Do you have any issues in your Caravan? 73de G4RYE Dave
Hi Dave. Sorry to hear about that. No, I don’t have issues in either the caravan or the car when /P. Perhaps suitable ferrites/chokes on antenna centre and feed, and then if still issues a gradual reduction in power in the hope there’s a threshold you can dip below perhaps? Good luck Dave 🤞🏻
You definitely get what you pay for with Lithium, I’ve recently switched to Lithium from AGM in my mobile shack (camper). I saw your video with the damaged battery, Im guessing it was AGM or the acid would of got everywhere in the bunker. Have you thought about leaving the battery on the surface and running cables down through the air vents where the feeders went.
Hi. It was a bit of a temp setup as we weren’t sure how well the big lithium would run the rig plus the laptop charging, as it was an early outing for it. The cables would have to be quite heavy gauge to avoid voltage drop from surface. Happy to lower batteries in future, but not by their handles 👍🏻 Yes, good job it was glass mat 😀

RR Ian. Going to add bits of gear on at a time and see how much I can load it up…👍🏻😀

Hi Ian, what warranty does Fogstar provide ?
Hi Adam. Non-transferable warranty giving new replacement if faulty. Subject to non-damage etc. as you’d expect.
Ian next time you lower a battery I would make a cradle to fit the battery in.
@@sbateson67 yes, cheaper in the long run too 😁
