    Awesome, my right front speaker just blew and was looking for a replacement pair. Good to know about the ring holder! Thanks for the vid ;)

    I was doing this two weeks ago and reused the old ring holder as I didn't know aftermarket rings were available. Thanks for the information!

    I hate wiring, so I appreciate all the helpful advice. Should save me a lot of head scratching 😅 I want to make a parcel shelf for rear speakers since mine has no soft top roof. Thanks for sharing mate 👍🏽

      Think about getting speakers with a pre made pod for a parcel shelf, save a ton of installation grief - like this

    Great video. I wanted a good set of speakers that would be better than the 22 year old ones. They sound ok considering the age, but these Pioneers look great and fit behind existing grills keeping car looking original.
    I would also recommend putting some sound deadening behind the speaker and around this area. Not only does this make audio sound better it makes door sound much nicer when closing.

    Hi Andrew. Loving your videos as I am basically following you with all the same jobs to do. My car is a MR-S and does not have tweeters. Do you think the Pioneers would flush mount if I cut a hole in the panel?

    • @andrewsparey697
      @andrewsparey697  3 роки тому +3

      So the tweeters come with two different bases. One for flat mounting if you want to cut a big hole in the door card, but also a little pod bracket which is angled so you can just put them on top of your door card without cutting any big holes, and the pods point towards you. You can see the pods in the picture on the speaker packaging

    Thanks for the guide. How do the speakers sound compared to the standard ones?

  • @markmahone390
    @markmahone390 3 роки тому

    I might try the pods then. So basically just need a screwhole and a small hole for the cable? Also, I see on your stereo install video you mention RCA leads, where have you put your amp?

    Have you thought about adding one of those under seat subs?

    • @andrewsparey697
      @andrewsparey697  2 роки тому

      Difficult to achieve on an MR2. The seats nearly touch the floor pan. The sub that i install in the locker in my other video, is designed for under seats and is at least one inch too thick. I once saw on ebay that a guy made a custom sub box that went under the mr2 steering wheel

    Can you provide the link for the adapter rings?

    • @andrewsparey697
      @andrewsparey697  3 роки тому

      Unfortunately not, the seller stopped selling so the link is dead. It was on Amazon and i searched for 16cm toyota speaker adapter, if that yields no results try the same search on ebay.

    Bad idea... standart acoustics should not be much inferior in sound quality. In Russia, such a replacement is called "change the awl to soap". To feel the difference from replacing the speakers, you need a front speaker that costs at least $ 150-200 + an amplifier that costs at least $ 150-200. The doors had to be covered with vibration isolation - the effect would be better than replacing the standard acoustics. On my zzw30, the doors are sealed with vibration isolation with a thickness of 4 mm.
