    I have fine, 2c/3a, low porosity hair much like you and I tried sleeping with a bonnet and woke up with frizzy curls that were stuck to my head and hard to manage a good hair day without a refresh. BUT then I tried the Medusa hair clips and even though it kind of stretched out the bottom, back hairs, I woke up with much better hair, with volume and easier to style plus I look cuter going to bed. Thank you so much for sharing the medusa sleep method.

    All my life I thought I had mostly straight hair. Recently discovered that I have curly hair and my problem was no knowing how to care for curly hair and years of damaging my hair didnt help. My hair is currently in the middle of my back and Im going to chop it to a long pixie to get rid of all the damage. Thank you for this video. This will help me when I chop my hair.

    This works for longer hair too! I have 2b/2c curls that falls well below my shoulders, but when I would try the pineapple, or anything else for that matter, it wouldn’t work. I’d have to wash my hair daily. What a chore. Happened upon this video and figured nothing ventured, nothing gained. Wow! This is a game changer. Worked very well for me. I use the clips all around as you presented in your video and then to control the length I would just throw random clips in the top. Spay, sleep, wake, fluff - looks even better than fresh curls! Plus, my hubby thinks the clipped style is adorable. Win, win, win. I’m full of gratitude to you for this well-presented idea. I’ve been able to go 3 days without having to redo.

      Awesome! Yes, my hair is a bit longer than this now too and have friends with longer hair like yours who also love it!! With my minimal amount of hair and barely more length I only need one extra on top to control the floppiness. But I love that yours is so cute and hubby likes it! 😀

    I am so thankful I stumbled across your video. I originally was looking to see if anyone on UA-cam was comparing satin and silk pillow cases and I loved the video that you did on comparing them. It brought me here! I unfortunately have a lot of breakage around my hair line from the years and years of wearing headbands, tying my hair up, and using bonnets to sleep.
    It’s a new journey for me to sleep fully without a bonnet on my head and I didn’t want to use a scrunchi and possibly pull my hair more.
    This is such an awesome method! I just can’t thank you enough ♥️

    I tried this last night and it worked great! Thank you for making the video! I haven't had great luck with just a satin pillowcase alone or with the pineapple (leaves a bend in my hair and disturbs my actual curls/waves.) This morning I unclipped the claw-clips and voila! My first day hair from yesterday is basically intact. I am super pleased. =D

    My hair is a bit shorter than yours but I will try this. I tend to lay on one ‘corner’ of my head and that gets flat and straight - all the time. I am thinking the clips will not be comfortable and/or just fall out while I sleep. But as I said, I’ll give it a shot!

    • @fitkatstyle4388
      @fitkatstyle4388  4 роки тому

      I use only clips that have "rubber grip" inside! And if they are too big they will fall out. It's key to place them above where your head lays on the pillow. So as high as you can. In the AM you can wet and refresh the straighter under bits before letting the rest down. Also try bobby pins or even the clips I use in my root clipping video.

    You are a real pleasure to watch! You seem to have a real kind and sweet personality. I have similar hair to yours except it's longer. You have great tips for women who have our kind of hair. The one thing that I do different is even if a product does wonders on my hair, I don't buy and use it if that company tests on animals. I research whether products are tested on animals and then I buy the ones that are not. Then after that I decide whether the product works well for my hair type. I only buy and use products that don't test on animals.

    Thank you for posting! I love your videos... you are the only person I've found who has hair exactly like mine. There are tons of videos for girls with thick, luscious curly hair but not many for us with very fine, thin curly hair. Would love to know what shampoo/conditioner you use and how often you wash your hair. I've been trying to wash less often so as not to dry out my hair, but now I'm experiencing oiliness at the scalp that is weighing my hair down and making it look flat. I thought that brushing my hair at night with a boar bristle brush would help distribute the oil throughout the hair and make it softer and less oily at the scalp, but now I think my hair is less curly due to all the brushing and pulling out the curls. It's a no-win situation LOL. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

      Kaylie I have a minimal refresh video that is pretty standard minus letting it settle. That can vary but not super long. 5 min is usually enough. But sometimes it’s longer b/c I’m doing other things. 😉

    I think we have similar hair, as I've mentioned before in the CG group. Our length is similar too so I was especially excited to see this video. I've not yet found a protective style that works for me overnight, and I can't wait to try this technique! Thanks a bunch for posting. Subbed

    My hair is exactly like your hair, including density and curl pattern. I so appreciate your help with my fine, curly/wavy hair. Can you you also share what gel product you use for scrunch?

    • @fitkatstyle4388
      @fitkatstyle4388  7 років тому

      In the Winter I was using Herbal Essences Totally Twisted. It's more medium hold but has pretty good longevity. In the summer, I went off CG a bit and used a gel that had a silicone in it for frizz control. ;)

    Thanks for this great technique for shorter curly hair 👍🏻. My hair is slightly past my shoulders, but it’s pretty thick wavy curly. I have been doing the pineapple routine for sleep, but it feels uncomfortable since my hair is layered and not really long enough for this method. I’ll get some of those small-medium clips and try your sleep routine. Great!

    LOVE your videos!! Please give us more tips and tricks! I for one have very similar hair and I’ve been struggling for the past 2 months on the CGM. My hair (past my shoulders) is either wet looking and stringy (I hate seeing thru the curl clumps) or frizzy and pouf-y (when I’m defeated and attack my hair with pick...😂😂). Can’t seem to find the right balance. 😫

    I have the exact curl or wave pattern hair as you and looks like your hair so much; great to see someone using the clips too- i find I use them most days just to get it up a little in the front and off my face - your hair is a little more dense in the front than mine I have a little pattern baldness going on. I hope to learn much more from your channel. fifi

      Using some water to refresh in the morning is probably ideal for you to get your wave pattern to perk back up and use a little more product so it holds.

    Dear Fitkat, Ah sorry just saw you replied to me. Gosh u tube is amazing. Your hair is lovely. I have been hi lighting and straightening mine for 20 years. I have only let it go back to natural waves in last few weeks. Thanks to your inspirational videos. My hair is thick enough but lies flat on top and there are lots of awful flyaway hairs. Damage from all the colouring. Any advice much appreciated if you get a chance. Best wishes . Barbara

      If you aren't already I advise following the Curly Girl Method outline in the Curly Girl Handbook or find videos on here about that. Keep giving it moisturize and you may also want to try some protein in your products as damaged hair usually needs it. I like Hask Keratin deep conditioner (it's not 100% CG but many of us CG gals use it w/o any issue). You could also get Neutral Protein Filler at Sally beauty and add it to your condish or spray it on. Just don't add it to another product for more than that single use or it can go bad.

  • @guccigang6125
    @guccigang6125 6 років тому

    Great thanks for all that. I will work on all fronts. Will look up curly girl. Protein filler sounds very interesting too. Super tips. Will let u know how it works out for me. Fingers crossed!

    Your clip idea is smart. For the hair at the nape of the neck, I suggest twirling them into a pin curl. That keeps them tightly curled at night even as you lay against them on the pillow. ;)

      TROgirl It does! I’m more of a 2A 2B wavy girl and the medusa updo works perfectly for me, even if I move like I’m being exorcise during the night, lol. Just try not to touch it so much in the morning. I did the first time and ruined my lovely waves. Let your hair be :)

    I have a question, first of all my hair is a bit shorter than yours and I think much finer. But this is certainly going to be my new up-do from now on. I think it will look even better as my hair grows a bit longer. I have done it as I watched your video, just used four clips as my hair is finer than yours. Now my questions - do you put the dry shampoo on every time at night? And then my next question refers to your root clipping method, I cannot get those Duckbill clips in South Africa, so can you show me how to do the root clip using bobby pins? Or, can you do it with these claw clips too because my hair falls flat at the top and the crown. Please respond because you put up lovely videos. I have just permed my hair and this is why I am so keen. Keep posting, please. Thanks very much. Liz

    • @fitkatstyle4388
      @fitkatstyle4388  6 років тому

      I don't do the dry shampoo every night. I only use it when I think I need it. Day 2 maybe not needed but day 3 maybe so. Winter may not need it as much as hotter months. Just assess that night. I think the claw clips would work better for root lift as they will lift higher and not be so tight to drag out of the hair as they undo w/ a pinch. Hope that helps. Thanks so much!!
