Your videos are really fantastic, thanks for putting them out there! Curious if you are using baltic birch for your furring strips on the ceiling? Or does regular sanded ply for the big box stores work for that? (I'll use the nice stuff for wall/ceiling panels)
@SueT55Yes. There's a product called Thermo-Lite. A polyurethane type board. Won't rot or warp. Waterproof & insulates.Takes screws well. Adhesives work well with this product. Avail. in thickness of 3mm & up. I'm using it glued to my van floor, 17mm. No screws! Perfect. Plus it's much lighter than ply. Good luck.
You never cover any of the work you did prior to screwing the panels in place. Such as the items you mention like rivnuts, furring strips, and unistrut.
These videos are all part of series highlighting different installs for over build. In the video's description we list the other videos we've done in preparation for this step. Below are links to those videos where we go over rivnuts and furring strips. We will have a unistrut video coming soon. Hope this helps! @@AVCRIG I am interested in your panel kit so I sent an email asking for directions so I could review and evaluate all the work necessary for installing the kit. I guess I am just a little early to the party. BTW, I never received a response.
Glad to see the return of the Lab Coat....the haters can pound sand!
What thickness on furring strips? Cutting all avc paper template panels this weekend

Thank you!!
What type of screws r u using? Where do u get them?Great video!
We use modified truss head screws. I get them in bulk, but you can find them on Amazon.

We use birch strips because we have lots of scrap around. Normal ply will %100 work. Thanks for watching!
@@AVCRIG thanks, I appreciate that!

@@outthere9370 Do you have a link for this product? The thinnest furring strips I found are 5/16". 3mm would be just over 1/10".
Yeeeee Haaaaa
