Why is the club scene fading? Look at what we do to each other. We used to go and dance and act a fool, having a great time with friends. Now, people will record you, mock you, put you on the internet, turn you into a meme, shame you, and ruin your life. No one wants to risk being in that seat.
People are scared to be human because society has taken more pleasure in throwing punches at those enjoying their life than in their freedom of expression.

I'm wondering if in the future will be a method of scanning one self, uploaded to for example youtube security... And PROHIBIT them to show any videos where your face appears... Even as a background.. Without your approval....
That’s true. I’m young so I can’t say much on experience or the past. But we’re forgetting to enjoy ourselves instead on focusing on people and problems

@@vperez2598Because promoters and club staff treat other club-goers like crap if they're not buying bottles. I've seen sthiss many times. It sets off bad vibes in the club environment. I don't need to buy a bottle of alcohol just to dance and have fun.

I feel like people in clubs nowadays, at least where I live, are incredibly judgmental. I feel like I can’t dance without the fear of someone recording me and putting me on their Snapchat or Instagram story. Others also seem to always look for a fight even if you just make unintentional eye contact with them. The environment just feels overall very toxic. Most people are just standing around as well.
So true, another reason I don't go to clubs in the US anymore.. Guys don't treat other guys nice in clubs in the states.. everything is a competition.
I went to a club in 2010 with 3 girls one was my friend other 2 her friends . I was telling something in her ear the music was loud and the other one stepped up to me saying I was talking about her . The whole time I was telling my friend I’m stepping outside because I feel anxiety . Never went out again I guess the anxiety was telling me I didn’t belong there

The ability to dance over each generation is waning. I for example do not know how dance. I’m gen Y and I’m not alone.
Went to a night show a few months ago after having not been to one in years. First thing I noticed about the younger generation was how they don’t “dress up” to go out. People wearing regular clothes, gym clothes with sneakers to go out at night. No effort in their appearance and then sat around in circles on phones. Nobody dances. Back in my 20s during the early 2000 we all got dressed nice, we socialized, danced and made fun of the wallflower folks refusing to get off their chairs. Such a strange experience watching this younger generation not understand how to have fun in a social way. No wonder they suffer from loneliness.
Lmao I noticed this too! Funny cause my sister and I were talking about this the other day. I turned 18 in 2011 didn’t really club that much until I was 23, people were already kinda dressing in sneakers and casual clothes and that was in 2016-2017. But I know the girls were dressing much cuter than now. Times change

Yea, i aint been to the club in a minute, but back in the 2000s-2010s, we had phones, but we still came from a time where people still went outside and mostly socialized. Its like now, nobody knows how to talk to anybody anymore when theyre not behind a screen. And covid made things 10x worse.

That bugs me. We had to put on nice shoes and slacks when we went out. That’s why guys were less likely to fight or shoot people. We were too busy with the women and trying to get numbers, or yes…get laid! Plus, people could be more easily identified because they were dressed up.
I’m a lounge person , I just became a brunch girl and I enjoy chillin at my house and Inviting people over we play games and have good conversations . The club scene is too dangerous
Yes the violence is another issue. Especially with us 👨🏿👨🏿👩🏿👩🏿folks. A wrong look gang elements or the classic one you stepped on my foot.
But I think the brunch lounge vibe has converted to the club 🤷🏾♂️

I female coworker had a get together at her house with a few people, drinks, games, music etc. Turned into an all out orgy. I can honestly say it was better than a club.

Back in the day clubs we're no more than $15 for entry unless it was ladies night or a sex club (clothing optional).
When I was in high school we had teen clubs and raves There was the palladium in San Francisco. San Francisco was littered with gay and lesbian clubs which were fun, and you didn't need to be gay or bi to have a good time.
There were the emo, Caribbean, and R&B clubs in downtown Oakland. There was a latin club in Berkeley that Sheila E family would play. But as time moved on and cities became gentrified the clubs started shutting down.
Clubbing was fun when I was young and being a woman made it even more enjoyable for me and my friends. After you have kids you forget what the inside of a club and bar looks like.

There’s so much division now, it’s all deliberate and it sickens me. Divide and conquer. The government is more evil and corrupt than ever but they can get away with it if they keep the peasants squabbling amongst themselves over absolute nonsense.
I'm an older millennial and clubbed in the 2000s and early 2010s. It was so much fun. Even if you weren't a good dancer, you still had fun. Cellphones were flip phones and the only social media was MySpace(mid 2000s). I'm old now (turning 40 in three weeks) so I can only imagine how it is now.

I am Gen X and we had a good ass time in the clubs. All we had was pagers no cell phones. We were focused on one another and the music was banging. The prices were reasonable. We would never pay for no damn valet parking. I don't even think the clubs had such a thing back in the day. We all pilled up in the car and parked across the street etc.. wherever there was a parking spot. There was no such thing as bottle service etc.. We would spend no more than $20.00. Usually free to get in or no more than $5.00. Drinks were $3 to $5. We socialized, danced and went home or to an after spot which was someone's home or an 24 hr restaurant to grab a bite, because clubs didn't offer food like that back then. Nowadays folks paying hundreds of dollars to go to a club is insane to me.
I’m 36, turning 37 in a few months. Last time I went to a club was in 2017. It was still decent then. Can’t imagine it now though.

As a person who lived the early House music scene to the full 88-94, I'm so glad we did not have mobile phones then, just banging crowds all feeling a oneness with the music and each other.
Yep I'm 34 and although I'm more of a headbanger at times oh how I would have loved to have been born no later than the late 70s. I grew up listening to and still love the evolution of early house and eurodance music from the late 80s to mid 90s, C+C music factory, Culture Beat, Technotronic, Masterboy, 808 State & MC Tunes just to name a few.
Cellphones were a toy for the rich, and if you came across someone walking down the street having a conversation on the brick phone or a bag phone that said a lot about who they were and their job title.
yup, I was in the dance scene since 1980, or 78 if you count my punk rock phase. The dance scene really is dying out, it's so sad because I love watching great dancers at raves
@@Sparky-ww5re I remember feeling so important when my job gave me a pager lol but the novelty wore off quickly. My buddies got pagers for no reason at all, they got paged for things that were even important. The same thing when flip-phones became popular in the 2000's, people talked on their phones about nothing important, things that can wait till they got home, or when they got off work. I got my first cell phone in 2005 because of my first born baby, other than that I didn't want to be called. I was and still am an email person.
Millennial here! Use to go clubbing in my early 20s and it was so much fun. Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Lil Jon, Usher, Rhianna would blast through the speakers and music would switch to dancehall. We would dance and have a good time! Hell we got dressed up to go to the club. The cell phone was used to call up friends but was quickly put away once inside.
Once we left the club we would stop by a 24 hr diner having fun. I can't imagine the club experience not being like this anymore.
I also blame today's current music. The music is not club bangers. It sounds like depression. It's a no wonder gen-z is reaching into the millennial bag for music. I don't blame them.

Hell yeah. For me i had went to 16+ (it was 16 to 20, which was still weird but it was fun) events back in the early 2010s. Then mid 2010s went to raves. After 2016 i hated going to normie clubs played a lot of that trash trap mainstream bs. And ever since covid, i barely go out. But the 2010s was fun.
Let’s be real. COVID killed anyone’s passion to go out. Being screamed at to “STAY HOME! SAVE LIVES” did NOTHING good for us. Also how much is a drink at a nightclub now? Tip?

literally, every single component of our society is being demolished and redesigned to encourage people to not leave their homes. It’s so depressing. We’re watching the slow, rapidly accelerating deaths of nightlife.

They are anxious because of all the vaping and weed they smoke! Ever since they legalized marijuana in California and Colorado, mental health issues have skyrocketed…. There is a correlation there
I experienced club culture back in 90s-2000s (I'm 43) and we actually had fun back then. We used to leave our brick cell phones(not everyone had cell phones back then) in the car, pay $10 to get in, buy a couple of drinks for $5 in a little plastic cup and had fun dancing all night. Guys would be doing their dance, girls had their our dance moves then we got together at the end of the night and had a blast. The DJ played music we could dance to and there was no sections, only VIP but nobody cared about that anyway because all the fun was happening on the dance floor.
Nowadays all that is dead. Clubs now are just people pretending to have a good time for social media, people acting fake rich and everybody got a stink ass attitude for some reason. I'd rather watch paint dry.
I'm 40 now and I am glad that when I was younger, I actually got a chance to go to clubs to dance and talk with people outside my immediate circle. Matter of fact, when I was clubbing, we actually practiced dances all week long so we could do them when we went out. Even though we had cell phones, pictures were grainy, so you just took them in to store numbers. I do agree, that these youngsters aren't actually living in the moments of their lives. They are just merely capturing snippets of what they think other people would envy. In some instances, technology has really taken us back instead of forward...
You’re my mom’s age and she would talk about how fun it was in the 90’s-00’s ( besides all the drugs lol) I really wish there was more socializing rather than just huddling into little groups and go on their phones without saying a word. I learned to accept that it won’t be like that again and it’s best not to bother anybody 😢 sometimes I reminisce over times I will never get to experience. I am 19 btw.
@@nani4057 Yes, I agree that times may never be like your mom speaks of. It was a lot of fun hanging out at clubs, weekends at the malls and going to the movies with cousins and friends. All we had were the people in our communities/ neighborhoods and we never felt lonely. Now, people can connect with people from anywhere and still seem lonelier than ever before because most of the connections that are made now are from behind a screen. This is why I limit my social media time and I make sure I actually engage with humans when I choose to hang out with friends and family members.
OH yeah... I'm 44. They are gonna feel it when they get older. They are gonna realize they wasted A LOT of GOOD years being weird and Anti-Social and blah blah blah because it's POPULAR. 🤦🏾♂ Therapists are gonna get PAID!
@@mwebster3265 I do agree that this generation that has become enslaved to this type of social technology are going to have long lasting negative effects that have yet to surface. Time is too short and too precious to waste only engaging with others in such a manner. I'm glad that as a kid of the 90s, I got a chance to live in a world that was a bit slower paced.

All the complaints here are valid. My solution: I bought an online DJ software, I bought speakers, I bought colorful lights and a Disco ball. I converted my garage into my Disco dance room. Now on the weekends, I play my 70's Disco and dance until I''m spent, then go uptairs, shower and go to bed!

Right I don’t know why that owner was gas lighting with the prices. Nobody is paying for a dj at a house party when you can play songs from your phone. Nobody is paying someone to clean up when you can do it yourself. Every house party I been to you pour your own drinks. And parking is free. He just wants to make money. His mindset is why clubs are so expensive and not fun anymore.

Not sure if some of yall are just getting old, or just don't know how to explore the city's wonderful variety of scenes . Houston has diverse night life. A club for just about every culture. you have the Middle Eastern clubs all down Richmond and fountain view area. Hookah spots, African clubs, Latin clubs by the handful, House clubs, grimey raves events, and then your standard pubs, bars, and hundreds of holes in the walls. Houston night life is not dying. I personally Dj at Sunset Rooftop on Dallas street in the eado area and I get that place popping with twerking, dancing, house dancing, etc. Yes people are on their phones but its usually the ones who walk around with a sour face the whole time . The rest of the people are there getting lit and dancing their night away, forgetting all about their bills and home issues, exactly what clubs are supposed to be for . I'm still witnessing people living in the moment, especially when the dj is doing his job right. Maybe this places that are getting "old" just got wack djs. Maybe the standards for a good dj have dropped so bad that bar owners and clubs owners can no longer get away with paying for the cheapest dj in the bucket of crabs pinching for any gig they can get their hands on . MAYBE this club owners should start investing a bit more on quality djs who know how to read and control a crowd . its not about STRAIGHT BANGERS. Its about keeping the crowd in waves. Understanding when you got them tired, when to give them a brake to hit the bar, when to drop the perfect song to bring them back un to the dancefloor .
Idk just my humble 2 cents of a Local Houston dj in the industry for the past 13 yrs and seeing how club/ bar owners treat their DJ's.

EaDo had quite the chill vibe when I went last year. Busy, active yet chill. I liked this one rooftop bar but I can't remember the name. Hope to try Vinny's Pizza once.

Guess what: You’re ALL correct! It’s everything everywhere all at once LITERALLY.
With the exception of a few niche places (ie spots that play House music), this is the new normal in mainstream clubbing.
I’m an older millennial so clubbing for me was fun back when I was in college and post grad. But this is not our wave. Every generation is different for a multitude of reasons. They socialize different. They date different. I don’t personally understand it either but there’s more than just 1 culprit for the nightclub era dying. The underlying reasons are way deeper but I’m gonna keep it at surface level because….conversations like that are not made for the internet. Ironic huh lol.

I feel as though we (Millennials) were the last generation to truly have a good time out at a nightclub. It's like when smartphones and social media became popular, clubs became boring and super expensive.
Sadly the social media age killed the nightlife around the mid 2010s. And no one dresses up anymore. Gone are the days of a place to dance every night. 😭
Yeah I've always said that the turning point was 2012. This was when a large portion of the population owned a smartphone. Facebook was already in full swing and Instagram had already been around for two years at that point. A year after that, Tinder.

There are cost and fee’s for every single thing, customer service at establishments are horrible, men and women seem to not like eachother in a real way anymore, life itself is a challenge and not fitting for freedom and fun. No one dances or interacts anymore. The cell phone is a huge issue. Current music is trash, fashion trash, hair styles super basic and Everyone looks alike. Safety and violence is also an issue
You hit it on the nose, especially, with men/women not liking each other in a real way anymore, and those hairstyles making every ethnic group of women look the same.
I’m a lesbian but I can see that the straight folks have been pitted against each other in this strange way and I find it concerning. They seem to have a fundamental lack of understanding of one another. If men and women quit liking each other, there goes our society and our species.
The aesthetic and fashion of this era is horrendous. I won’t even go to the mall anymore. If I want to go shopping, I just go to my storage unit. You can’t find nice stuff like that nowadays. I like properly tailored clothes made of quality fabric, everything is garbage now. 😂
I noticed the hatred in women towards men after the Me Too movement stuff, but after Covid even dating died after that. Hollywood is telling women that men are no longer needed, and being a mother is the worst decision you could ever make. What I do see is a future of old bitter women wishing they could have done something different in their youth. On the bright side war pigs might actually get their WW3 in the near future as well.

I'm a millennial, and i have to say, there is something very wrong with Gen-Z. They don't know how to socialize. I take comedy classes with a bunch of Gen-Z people and nobody is talking to each other. They just sit around staring at the wall, or they stare at their phones, or their laptops. Imagine being in a room full of people and no one is saying anything to each other. It's like something out of a horror movie. It's kind of creepy. So it's not just the clubs, they're a very isolated and lonely generation wherever they go. SAD 😂
Clubbing in the USA sucks/dead. This is why I save my $$, travel over seas a couple of times a yr, & have a very fun time clubbing/partying abroad. Internationally clubbing is great! I also get the perks of site seeing & learning about different cultures on the side.
At least you have money to do those things but most people don't unfortunately.

I talked to a relative that is in their 20s and they don’t even go to clubs. They actually have never been to a club. They go to parties, but no clubs. It sounded bizarre to me. I think smart phones and social media have kinda killed people’s motivation to have in person interactions as much as in the past
Most people don't even interact in the club, dudes are afraid to approach, women don't want to be approached, in Cali a jack n coke cost 20 sumthing without a tip.
Men have to be cautious about who they approach. You could easily catch a charge or more likely get recorded and shamed on social media. Who wants to to waste precious time and money just have to tap dance around these boogey traps?

Young people has changed the culture. You have a nice place to go for adults, dancing, and socializing. When young people come in, the 40 plus moves out and the music changes. As an owner of numerous establishments, I keep the music and culture the same. All business isn't good business.

I noticed that in Ybor city in Tampa, they renovated all those warehouses to nice clubs and establishments but then the riff-raff that lived nearby took over and ran the people that were actually spending good money off.
Someone needs to make clubs where you have to be at least 30 and up to get in. Bring back the way clubs were.

@@vperez2598It was not that long ago that clubs and bars had ample free seating for people to take a break from dancing and to down the rest of their drinks without bumping elbows. Once rap music began glorifying strip club club culture and bottle service, floor space was at a premium as VIP sections became a top money marker for the clubs so bar owners dedicated more room for them. I know one particular popular club in my city where more then half of the floor space is reserved sections and what's left is a really narrow dance floor that gets absolutely packed too where you barely have standing room.
Latino nightclubs are the move!! $15 to get in, no VIP tables or expensive bottles, everybody dances
Dang, I remember getting dressed up and excited to be going out. Parking was free, $2 - $5 to get your entry stamp and then dance and party all night. No one was fighting, shooting or killing each other. Just great fun. Some of the best years of my life. 🎉

Going to clubs is not fun at all. When you go, you pay a cover charge. Then are forced to buy a section with over priced bottles. I miss just being able to dance and go home.

Gen Z is not clubbing. The Millennial scene was lame, but it was the last generation willing to shake it's ass in public. The modern scene is mostly girls taking reels yelling "yoooooo." Honestly if you younger guys are looking to party, make some money and go foreign. Be a digital nomad or something.
Clubbing in the early 2000s was so much fun! I went regularly up until like 2010. Then every blue moon until 2015. I think the last time I went was 2017 and it was pretty dry then. I have so many great memories with my friends though. And some not so great memories. But for the most part, we had a time.
Every generation had a great club era. Sucks Gen Z won't get to have that experience.
Clubs now are dying because it’s all about status, clout and egos. Nobody goes to have a actual good time but just to flex on people. It’s such a turn off. All you see in clubs now are a bunch of wannabe bougie celebrities trying to impress people that they have a table or to cool to socialize. I clubbed from 17 to 33. After that, I was strictly a lounge lizard. I loved clubbing back in the day before social media. We did have cell phones and beepers but no one was glued to them like today. I miss those times. It was truly a vibe.

Back in the late 70s and through the 80s, I enjoyed going to nightclubs. Back then, most were free; a pricy one might cost $5 to enter. I almost never encountered parking fees.
It was more fun after I took ballroom dance lessons. I would attend dances at a gym, and they played current music, and other genres dating back to the 40s.
I think the best way to bring back the nightclub scene is to do this. Today's music is unfit for dancing or even listening to.

I'm so glad I got to experience a majority of my 20's during the 90's. Back then ppl went out to have a good time by dancing, drinking and socializing. If you were single, going out was one of your best bets to meet someone. You had to because it was before smart phones and social media. Everyone was mainly concerned about what was going on in their own lives. It was just a different time when there was less fighting and shootings at the clubs. Also a time when ppl actually had fun and not had their heads down looking at a phone. And like I said before, I'm so glad I got to experience that time.

Sections limit people from interacting with others, which is the point of a club. It used to be that the only people who would sit down in a club were those in the VIP section. Now everyone wants to be VIP. Hookah is also lame, as are bottle girls.
I agree about the bottle service. it's over rated and underwhelming.
There was always free seating before. The difference is we only say down for dance breaks and to finish drinks and to make calls or send quick texts to locate your friends (since cell phones didn't do much else back then). There were bottle sections but other seats were still available with the expectation that you'd spend most of your time on the dance floor or at the bar and not on your phone.
Everybody wants a section to show off their money..social media made everyone feel like they had to compete and show off VIP and they can afford bottles.

I can't speak on how things work in the south but as a NYC native our nightlife is always on point. You jus gotta know the right people. Usually actual dancers and concer goers have the spots to go to on deck. Hype crowds, quality music, expensive drinks but hey cant have everything 🤷🏾♂️
Going to clubs in the 90's was a pivotal part of my maturation into adulthood. It was a way to meet girls and touch them in a non-threatening way. It was a way to get over my shyness and social anxiety, to get out of my head and into the world. I learned how my body could move. Slow dances were heaven. It was like jumping into the pool of life.

Another reason the club scene is dying is because of how hard it is to make good friends. So many people are toxic these days and want to see each other's downfall... just search youtube and you will find hundreds of videos of narcissistic friendships and the need to cut people off.
Another reason is there's no return on investment... maybe around 2008 and back, you used to be able to go to a club and find somebody to be in a long-term relationship with or you could make a friend. Nowadays, men just want to take women to the bedroom and the girls just want to drug the men and rob 'em lol. It's like you're gonna spend all this money on parking, entrance, drinks just to go home with no new friends, no potential relationships... it's not worth it.
I hear you on this. However, I've met a lot of people, and made quite a few friends from the club scene. I think the toxicity you've mentioned possibly already existed, but has been exacerbated with technology, social media, and more. As for finding someone long-term, that takes time. Back in the day in the club scene, that did happen a whole lot faster. But, there was no internet back then, you actually had to talk to someone, exchange phone numbers (and hope you actually got their real number and not a fake one). The relationships I've built were over many raves, parties, club nights, and us vibing over the music. Not every guy is looking to take women to the bedroom. I hope the ladies out here aren't drugging and robbing men. I have yet to have spent a lot of money on parking. I'll find my own spot, park, and walk back if I have to.
If you're looking to make new friends, I suggest dancing. Now, I don't know if you're a female, but if you are, I understand, and have seen how men can all "roamin' hands" and "rushin' fingers" when you don't want them to be. When that kind of thing happens, go find a bouncer. Don't try to resolve it yourself. If you're male, then hear this: "No means no." It really does. I myself have gotten a bouncer to remove someone because he wouldn't leave the lady alone, after she pushed him off, stomped on both his feet, he still wasn't getting the message. So I had him removed, via the bouncer. Her friends backed up what I had told the bouncer, and he picked the dude up, and took him outside.
We want to go and dance and have fun, not fear for our lives. But if you go because you're trying to "hook up", then expect the unexpected. Go with the intent of dancing and having fun, and if you meet someone, then that's a plus.

Clubbing in places like the USA or London or Dubai is just NOT fun. You never walk out without spending at least $500. South America and east Asia you can still walk in and out for like $20. $40 you're a VIP baller.
I am 67, raised on the West Coast. I lived to dance back in the day. No fights, shootings very little drugs. Every city had their dance clubs. Parking was free, drinks were $1.50. It was a good era.
I worked in many night clubs. The problem with clubs is that they push buying bottles and vip sections. Clubs used to have seats for common folks to take a break. Now, half of the clubs are sections with very little dance floor room.
For example, look at that silly battle between ny and Baltimore pouring out liquor on the floor. They wasted thousands of dollars in a dic# swinging contest of idiocy.
Clubs and lounges that play mostly Caribbean music and Afrobeats are the places to be. I notice dj’s dont usually have any of those songs in their mix if they’re not of that ethnic background. Too many clubs play trap music and songs from people like sexy red all the time and it gets repetitive and boring.
It died along with celebrating tradition and community. In the US, individualism has ruined the dancefloor.

In Berlin the best clubs banned the use of mobile phones, we want our guests to be THERE to be present to mingle with the people. One time I saw a US American guy being caught with his phone and he was kicked out.
Gen X here. My club day's were mid late 80s- early 00. We didnt have smartphones but in the 90's everyone had pagers but they didn't distract us at clubs. I use to go to Raves , but mostly underground music clubs like industrial, goth, electronic and sometimes house music. Every weekend was a party until early in the morning than we often would go to Denny's for coffee and food. I had sooooo much fun and feel lucky we didn't have smart phones distracting us from dancing, drinking and having fun with friends. sadly, things seem very different now.
COVID and Social Media have pretty much decimated the nightclub era. It's interesting that one of the panelists said that House Music is the only scene/nightclub that people are dancing. I will say because with House Music you feel the rhythm, you go with it, you move with the flow. All these other genres you don't really get that.

As a young Millennial, I started going out in 2009 and was clubbing for 10 years. I did notice things starting to change subtly around 2017, but the change was drastic after the pandemic. The music in the early-mid 10s was made for parties and good vibes; plus, we went to clubs to dance, enjoy the music, and meet people.
I don't remember taking photos and sharing stories while in a club. I still try going out and visiting EDM festivals, but it's not the same. They either play music from the 00s and the 10s or some depressing sh*t from the 2020s that doesn't make you want to dance.
Plus, people just stand there, scrolling through their phones, and not interacting. But when they dance, it's very vulgar twerking, especially because many clubs play reggaeton. They also pay hundreds of dollars/euros to sit in a VIP and take photos with expensive bottles, but that's about it. It does seem like the nightclub era is fading.

Same problems here in Mexico... I'm not (and actually never been) an usual club goer, but the few times I've been at clubs, especially these last years, most music played is reggaeton... Unless you go to a gay club (which I have no problem as I'm gay) where musical variety is bigger and dance and disco bangers get played too... But most clubs here have that issue too
Brother's here's a tip from an OG that still goes out alone on a regular basis and if I want, I can dress to the nines or not, and have females coming up to me asking to dance, with no problem I can meet females from all cultures/ethnicities and still get numbers, etc. You ready go to the Latin Salsa/Mambo clubs, it's the same if I go to CT, NY, DC, MD, VA, because it's the last place a man can go and still walk away respected because he's the male lead. Even if you know basic Salsa steps, which many clubs offer for a price sometimes as low as $10 or $15 to see and hear a live band depending on your part of the country there are dance classes before the hardcore dancers arrive. Also, the age range from 21-70, everybody dances with everybody, I have my pick, some places offer excellent food at a reasonable price. You can learn to dance Merengue and Bachata from the Dominican Republic, the women love these dances, and Salsa/Mambo NY style, Cuba style and you don't have to know any Spanish. Literally your on the dance floor for hours. If you want to be a domestic passport brother than go to the Latin Clubs, at least you get the flavor before you leave the country. I prefer Latin dancing over hand-dancing because Latin Dance has more variety. Leave those silly Ratchet/Upscale BS clubs alone and check the Internet I did for Latin Salsa/Mambo clubs and ask about the price and dance lessons. Look on the UA-cam and see the number of brothers/sisters enjoying Latin Salsa/Mambo music. Most important this is so called Latin groove is a Black things created by the slaves as past time, this is where jazz went it fused with Afro-Caribbean dance beats.
I always hated clubs that were too packed. They were always more lit when they had lighter crowds. Either way, clubbing gets old quick.

The golden age for nightlife for Me was 1995-2005. Especially 1996 when Ace of Base was kicking it! The people were awesome and we made sure everyone was having a blast. We were getting high off everyones positive Euphoria energy it was Epic! Nothing can hold a candle to those great times!
I remember being a new guy in town and I went to a club in NYC and every strangers made sure I was having a blast and soon they became life long friends to this date.
Of course We stopped clubbing in 2012 because of this crap. Ever since the Gen X retired from the nightlife scene the Nightlife became Extremely hostile, nihilistic, and depressing has hell. It all went down hill. Millinials are all about flexing their damn egos while Gen Z just want to start fights for no reasons. Plus they all are extremely inconsiderate as hell!
I truly feel bad for the young lads today because they will never experience the true joy of having a genuine great time with friends who were once strangers. Growing up in Los Angeles in the 90s and going to night clubs was a movie. The golden age of hip hop and R & B. Getting into the VIP section was the goal when you were younger, mingling with the stars. A lot of us got in without ID if you knew the right person. I know much hasn't changed now. Just a different era, same buildings different name. But I can't imagine the night club scene gone
