Done a project Boat myself 2 years ago. A 2004 Sea Boss center console on a 2014 Load Rite bunk trailer with a 2003 Johnson 90hp. Came out real nice after a year and a half working on it on & off. Ended up repowering with a 2024 Suzuki 90hp. Bought the boat for $6000, a new Suzuki 90hp $11000. So for $17000 Plus odds & ends$18000, not bad. A brand new boat set-up like I have now somewhere $40000 to $60000...crazy amount of money for anything new now days.
Love these restoration videos! Especially since I’m doing a 2004 Seapro restoration. I’ve been wanting add a jack plate and anchor pole. Thanks for the content
for abandoned boats in Florida. How are you able to obtain the Title to take possession? Does the marina Claim the boat as abandoned which then allows you to get a title thru the DMV?
Yup, exactly, I guess it's more of a repo, they didn't pay the bill for like years and so they wen't through the process to take the boat as payment for the bill. It's a process to get the title, totally depends on how they get abandoned. This one just sat on the rack since I saw it there in 2012 lol so who knows how long it sat there before then
Bro, you must be immune to diseases and infections because there's no way I would've been touching all that including that toilet with my bare hands. Lol hell no
Hey where does that battery compartment hatch whell drain to? It looks like its just an oval whell with no drain. If the seal on the hatch ever give out the pooled water will just poor in.
The boat was basically a repo, the owner didn't pay their bill for a long time and so the boat was taken as payment for the bill, so different situation for how you get a title compared to something like what you got. But you might be able to do something similar with a repo company I think they can get titles in some process they do, but I really don't know lol
A couple abandoned a 40 Tiara express with low hour twin 750hp diesels near me. I watched it for 10 years it kept flooding on land and got cut up in the end. Had about 6 feet o water in her for 7 years! Hull kept it's shape still!' Pushed the blocks right through the pavement. That boat was worth serious money. It was a freshwater boat up here in Toronto Canada. Makes one cry.
Sometimes older people run into health problems and leave them sitting and before anyone realizes 6 years have passed and there’s a list of things that need to be done before even selling it.
Since it rains daily @ 3, i wonder why nobody covers their boats or even any attempt to keep sun and weather off. All plastic, paint and rubber get UV damage over time. Even a basic tarp for $30-50 dollars every year works. But being lazy or doing nothing sure does ruin things. I use my boat, but also cover it when sitting, or it makes it's home in my shop. Even a basic boat cover pays for itself with preventable damage. Just saying.
Yup! Some spots have wind issues though, so the cheap tarps and covers just rip up within a couple months when too close to the ocean with the wind gusts :/ but covering the boat makes a massive difference in longevity! Maintenance is key :)

I'm so excited to see this boat get restored. Man I would pay you money to be there helping you !!!!
Wow that fold up seat is pretty cool. I like the set up on that boat.
What a nice find! Sweet Whaler! That thing looks a dang good shape for sitting 10 years
104 hours on that thing!
Cool older boat. Seems like most Whalers are worth restoring. But, looks like a few months of work. Better clean that gas tank and replace fuel hoses.
Best boating channel!
Really enjoy your videos, reminds me when I used to boat with my dad, great escape from the crazy world.
That's a cool boat. It has some nice features
Next project dang you are my hero good luck can’t wait to see the results!!!
Wow that boat has a ton of weight in the back.
I’d definitely look at moving the batteries to the console.
I wonder if he pop wheelies with it. 😂😂😂
😂
Best wishes down there, sad to see another hurricane coming to kick Floridas Butt!
Thank you!
I am LUVIN these vids. Thanks much!!!

Nice. Will you remove items to be replaced and then sand and polish? Easier to address the gel coat without stuff in the way.
Yup!

Happens all the time.
😂
The more you hide from germs the weaker your immune system becomes.
Lol :) I never stop to think lol
It’s another busy season for you!🎉
Yeah :/
I would check the motor and transom first if not good sell it …demand for old whalers but they are a pain to rebuild

It just drains down into the bilge :)
@@BornAgainBoating Oh there is a drain in it. I couldn't see it. My live well drains into a black bilge box that sends it out the through hull.
Wow! How do you crack an engine bracket??
I have the same boat. Now I want to give it to you so you can do mine next. :)
Lol :) This was a really fun boat for sure!
If this was a project I could spend my time on and do it meticulously I would love it. If someone was paying me, it would be a chore.
Such a same to see such a great boat left to go to shit like that. Can’t wait to see what you do to it.
i just sent you a link on facebook for a toilet replament a buddy of mine pulled out of a brand new boat. might work for this project.
Hey thank you! You'll have to send it here I don't get on Facebook :/
Try x14 on the mildew. Works great.
Bleach in a spray bottle. Done ✔️
That's a nice looking bay boat for it to have been unused for ten years.
The boat max hp rating is based on weight. Newer four strokes are lighter.
lots of hurricane boats going up for sale.......
The whole reason I picked a CC to restore was because there isn't a ton of expensive things to replace because there isn't much there😂
How did you get a title, I am having fits getting a title on a checkmate I restored?

Who just abandons a boat!?!? That thing was not cheap when it was new!

Not even the proper type of batteries. Don't Verados require AGM's?
Yes, that is what they recommend for them, but it depends on a lot of things, AGM's are what you are supposed to use, but flooded will work :)
Here comes 12 episodes 2 season🎉
Hey man check out my boat build walk through! Took inspiration from the years I’ve been watching your videos!!
I wouldn't pay more than 2k for that garbage
I would check the motor and transom first if not good sell it …demand for old whalers but they are a pain to rebuild
