  • Complete oil change procedure on an MV Agusta F3, including oil cooler removal, and drain. At this point, this is the only complete oil change video that I know of online anywhere online for the MV Agusta F3. Not found anywhere else. Enjoy.

    Hi there, just dropping you a line to thank you for such a good guide for the full oil change including the cooler. Yours appears to be the only such video covering the full job. Btw on a F3 brutale the oil cooler removal and installation really sucked, the mounts really didn't want to line up easily! Thanks again

      Ya the F3 wasn't fun either. I don't think this year I will be removing the oil cooler :)

    Thank you so much for your excellent comprehensive instructions! I'm so glad I watched this before filling up with the oil. I'd have completely missed the priming otherwise.

    The Gulf SYNTRAC full synthetic oil is great oil. Nice choice. Full synthetic API SL JASO MA, MA2 is the mentioned specs for MV Augusta. 👍

    NOW THIS IS WHERE ITALIANS MAKE IT HARDER, in many ways, what would be the problem of putting a regular metal oil filter outside, cant understand engeneers some times.............................

    cant believe MV didn't put a drain plug on the bottom of the oil cooler ..

      That would be simple...I usually dont take the oil cooler off anymore. Not worth it.

    reality you do not need to frickle with the oil hoses behind the exhaust header. On the F4 (nad it applso to the F3) I just remove the tubes from the oil cooler as the cooler is placed lower than the rest. Then I drain the oil from both the hoses and the cooler, give the cooler a rinse and put everything back in place by replacing the o-rings on the oil hoses.

    • @RideThe6
      @RideThe6  3 роки тому

      I pretty much only did that as the first oil change. I probably wont do it going forward.

      @@RideThe6 I would suggest you to always do it but to use the procedure I described. It is very quick and you will have a healthy engine all time and for very long time.

    I have owned many bikes with oil coolers. Right now I own a Super Duke and a MV Agusta Dragster 800rr Pirelli Edition. No manual or workshop manual states anything about draining the oil radiator. For such a small amount of oil, not worth the time with potential leaks. Most of us change our oil more frequently than we need to.

      Read the mv agusta f3 manual my friend. Keep in mind this was the first service after taking from the dealer.

    What you should be doing is once drained crank the bike on and let it run for 5-8seconds then cut it off. Then waaalllaahhh more oil comes out. Leave drain plug out. I do this for all ducati.

    Where is the "window" for checking the oil level? I just bought a 2017 Rivale, but not sure about the level window, I see one one the right side (facing forward), but its just completly black, and nothing in the manual 🤣🤔🤔
