    "Let's refrain. I always go a little too overboard with this stuff" - perfectly describes the RC hobby, in general.

    Thanks for all the great content, have gotten back in the hobby after taking a break for several years. Going all leaf spring and scale with weathering. This channel is a lot of the reason for getting back in the hobby. So thanks!

    One of those little "crack lighters" aka torch lighters would be perfect for this or a Hot Air soldering iron.
    I think I might have to give this a try on my scale rig. 👍👍

    • @Scott_A
      @Scott_A 3 роки тому +1

      Aye, you can get "flameless" lighters, i have a nice little one that only gets used on heat shrink tubing for wiring. Fairly cheap too

    I did a similar thing, found indirect flame or a heat gun works best. Without accidentally burning stuff such as preinstalled lights and wiring.

    Great dents and the truck has a cool 'dust' and 'grime' patina, which suits your TF2 very nicely indeed, thanks!

    The dents are perfect bro, and the bent rockers go with it i think. Looks real that way. Great job 👍

    To make dents and have some more control on the heat than just a open flame. Try a monokote iron. Not too spendy, can usually get them at the LHS.

    A little butane torch that you get at gas stations work really good for this

    It's been a long while since I had a chance to watch your channel, really enjoyed this one, it had such a great "just hanging out messing around in the shop" vibe, especially watching you work at that door panel and rocker with the blade 😁

    Just a thought.Were the roll bar is scewed into the rear fender well if you had some magnets to the screw that go down under the rear fender and had fender wells maybe some strong magnets might help keep the body.But would still need something on the front fender wells too.To keep the body from coming off.Just a idea.Iv done something similar to my 4 door extra speed jeep body and it worked in that application.But each style of hard bodies are different.But I think I'll try the heat and rock to make dents

  • @Scott_A

    You could also glue some styrene strips or angle along the inside out of view

    Easy fix Buddy. Use adjustable wood clamps and oh-so-slightly squeeze the sides together while heating it with a blow dryer. Wait for it to cool and check it.
    Works great.
    But.....the dents are cooler.
    Hahaha

    Get a rock that retains heat and heat the rock up, then push it into the body? Wear heavy gloves. Maybe will work?

    Can you use vise grips to hold the rock and heat the rock instead of the body?

    • @Scott_A
      @Scott_A 3 роки тому

      I could be wrong but for the rock to be hot enough to do it, the rock could crack from the heat. And it would likely melt the paint and plastic by the time the dent is deep enough and leave a rough texture on the body. Heating from the back is the safer option.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  3 роки тому +1

      Tape could work. I tried lots of glues when I first put it on and it came off easy on the trail. You could even bolt it through the body if you wanted. I had to do that on a Land Rover I did a long time ago.

    • @JoeOvercoat
      @JoeOvercoat 2 роки тому +1

      @@josecanseca8979 I have used shoe goo extensively and it has worked great where it very easy to apply and even levels itself out. I did encounter one exception on the Panda 6 x 6 where the shoe goo melted through the inner coating and the red paint. But I have used it on every other body shell you could possibly think of with great success. I’m using it to strengthen the body before or after it cracks. Or, to attach LED wiring to the bodyshell.
      Definitely let it cure outside for a week, tho. It definitely out-gasses for days.

    Just had a question I watched this video a while back and I purchased the same products and I'm getting ready to do mine now and the bottle says to use some sort of primer I was just wondering it didn't look like that you did and would I be safe being on putting it on something that's already painted

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  7 місяців тому

      It’s been a while. Talking about the iron paint? It always comes with with a primer but I have never used it. I just put it straight onto painted areas. Acts like a primer lol.

    • @hobertjr
      @hobertjr 7 місяців тому +1

      @@RCeveryday excellent thanks a lot I ordered the products that you had on there and it didn't come with a primer so I just thought I would ask I figured paint would probably work as a primer the least you could do is rust🤣
