    I will be adding items to my store all the time and all proceeds go right back into the channel! Got bored, look what happens. Needed to make a change on my old blue TF2 so I started messing around with weathering again. Its a lot to take in, might love it, might hate it.

    Ive watched almost all your toyota videos. I’m looking to get a rc4wd xtra cab and weather it after beating it up. I love the art aspect of weathering more than anything. So much character. Thanks for the great videos.

    Looks great!, it reminds me of old beat up hilux pickups at my local harbour, all you need is a load of crab pots in the back!. All the best.

    So I was thinking the other day about this video and came up with an idea for doing a patina paint job. You could paint the entire body with spray bombs but use different colors, like do a normal paint job with matte paint but just keep changing the color of the truck. Then once you have that done you could go back and wet sand through some of the layers to expose the different colors on the body lines and flats of the panels in certain areas then add the weathering and rust like you did in this video. Just a thought I had.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  7 років тому +1

      That is how I use to do it. I've painted guitars and some vintage tonka trucks with that method. Just gets tiresome with all the sanding. A very different look too.

    hey just saying about the rust look, it's suppose to be random and have body paint in some area. The streaks run down make it look like weathering caused by rain running down the body.

    Don't dap it. 4:58 ; Let it dry. Give it a slight scrub wash to knock the top surface off. Awe man your so good at getting the creativity going. Love how you just get in your shop and build it, try different things. I'm hooked on your channel to see what your gunna do next. :)

    Great and inspirational work man! What is the base paint setup? 2-3 colored layer and sanding? or rustall?

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  5 років тому +2

      This one was my test body so it has everything on it. Was baby blue with weathering powders. Then rustall, then ak rust streaks. Then iron paint. I think in that order. Lol

    What kinda type of paint good for weathering ? I hear some paint can eat the base paint ?

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  3 роки тому +2

      I typically use satin or flat enamel spray paints. Products like the ak rust streaks I use to weather will eat into it some but only if it’s not fully dried.

      @@RCeveryday ive seen alot of people using oil paint for weathering scale model, since alot of them are using i like to try em.. ill be honest with you this type of paint kinda confusing for me; enamel, acrylic, oil ect.. 😣 but i hear acrylic should be avoided.. idk..

      I didn't paint the amigo so I'm not sure what it was. The cab on the k10 is a satin rustoleum painters choice paint from Walmart. I can't remember the color name but it's pretty unmistakable. I'll try to find the can when I get home from work.

    Was going to start trying my hand at weathering but my first big question is. Starting with the red marlin body. Should I paint it first before starting to weather or can I try to just weather that red plastic?

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  Рік тому

      So I did my C2x over the gray shiny plastic. It worked pretty good with just the AK rust streaks and some black wash for the panel gaps. I personally like to layer paints and wetsand them alot. Start with a primer, then black primer, or red, then final color and wetsand between all layers. Then come back with the rust streaks.
