Love how it flexes! Fms has done it again, theyll be the next traxxas with how they make RCs these good and great bang for your buck. Great video my friend!
Thanks very much mate. 👍 It's got awesome flex hasn't it, definitely helps it take on the terrain. I was really surprised with how top heavy it is, how it didn't tip over as much. I mean if I just look at my scx24 Bronco it falls over! 🤣
🤣 I knew it wouldn't stay shiny for long. All my RC'S take a beating tbh. No shelf queen's here! 🤣 Thanks very much, I'm looking forward to adding more obstacles to it. 👍 You'll love it mate, so good straight out the box. 👍
The mini crawlers have definitely got the hook in! A few drops of 20wt oil in shocks and look what injora have for these aswell. Need more wooden obstacles in that garden course aswell!
Yeah they're great fun. Yeah definitely, oil filled shocks is next on my list. 👍 Yeah I only made the course a couple of weeks back, so this is v1. I'm hoping to make some obstacles going up the fence too, figure if I can't go out I'll go up! 🤣👍
I have both the TRX4M Defender as well as the K5 Blazer, and I would have to say the fun factor goes to the K5. Parts support, and reliability would go to the Traxxas. I have the K5 Black Blazer, and the body is so nice I won't run the rc with it on.
It is a very nice body. 👍 Mines already scratched, but it just adds character! 🤣 I think the K5 is just so much better value for money than the TRX4M. 👍
Yeah I really love the body, they look so good. Even with the really soft suspension they're surprisingly stable as the flex just eats everything up. 👍
I just got done converting my shocks over to oil, the O rings I lubricate with green slime if you put them on dry the shock shaft will hang up it makes a big difference oil filled, I just subscribed I’ll be watching for more
I bought both of these units in the last 2 weeks and the fms blazer all though it looked amazing with great detail literally broke after 3...yes I said 3 minutes of run time... 🤦♂️ A small weed wrapped around the rear axel and snapped the rear drive shaft. The Traxxas model I've had played with several times and in my opinion is alot better. The only upside to the fms was the 2 speed gear box 💯
Sounds like you were very unlucky, or that was one tough weed! I've beaten on mine way worse, ran it at the beach, mudded it, even had my son launching it in 2nd no issues. 👍 My TRX4M however, dropped it, bent the chassis, bushings bind up etc etc. Think sometimes it's luck of the draw. Mini crawlers are not as tough as tenth scale though. 👍 My tenth scale TRX4 is a tank. Been very surprised how tough the FMS FJ40 is too. 👍
Hey, thanks for doing such a good job of showing this off. I wanted to be a part of the UK launch but my channel is so new nobody will let me have one before the official UK release date. Oh well, I guess I will be late to the party, to be honest that's kinda my thing anyway Have a great day! Remember, whatever the question LOVE is always the answer 🐰💓🙏
That's fair enough. The TRX4M is still a good rig and much better than the SCX24 rtr in my opinion, but I think value for money, the FCX24 is better than the TRX4M. I was really disappointed with the paint on my red TRX4M Defender too. I saw a TRX4M Bronco up close the other day and they look much better. This is my first FCX24 and it really surprised me. Just my 2p. 👍
I don't have any experience with the lc80, but I do really like the FCX24 K5. Have you seen my upgrade and comparison videos in my Mini Crawlers playlist. Worth taking a look to see how they compare. 👍
@@DoURC ay thanks for the response i’ll check it out later for sure also do u think the material choice of the chasis relevant for durability as such would an aluminum chasis be better or a composite plastic like nylon on a mini rc?
@Ruleor For a mini crawler I don't think it matters so much imo. I've had no issues with the FCX24 plastic chassis. The TRX4M is steel and I bent that dropping it! As with it these things, it depends what you're going to do with it really. 👍
The mechanic wants to crawl and the body wants to stay on the shelf. The choice is : crawling and killing the awesome paintjob OR running on easy (and boring) tracks to keep the body from scratches. Very beautiful thing, but standing between two different worlds that make it a frustrating rig.
You can always get the Power Wagon version instead if you don't want to run this body. Scratches etc don't bother me, gives it a bit of character. 🤣 I think considering how heavy the body is, it's very stable. Oil filled shocks and some more low down weight and it will be much better. 👍
I’m still deciding between the trx4m and this Fcx24. I want to lean towards this blazer but the battery life is so tiny. Fortunately the ergenexrc 600mah is an option that’s available. The trx4m version looks awesome with the roll bar. Slightl😢longer wheelbase too. For some reason the fcx looks odd with the short wheelbase, though the real life k5 is also short wheelbase. And that looks awesome. Longer runtime on the traxxas battery. Really good chassis too. I think it was a blazer type design that was available in gta San Andreas and vice city. If you see the k5s in real life, they also bounce around a bit before they overcome obstacles, so the fcx has a relatively scale behaviour to its movement, too. Makes for a more interesting playtime and you get to put your own aptitude to test. Proprietary connections in the traxxas puts me off a bit. I don’t want to do any soldering. I can use the same receiver as on my power wagon, for the fcx.
I've got a comparison video on my channel of the two. Also got a separate video comparing the new FCX18 to the TRX4M. In my opinion, both the FCX24 and FCX18 are much better rtr's than the TRX4M. I recently bought the TRX4M High Trail and was very disappointed tbh. Hope that helps. 👍
I started with 1/10 too, but you'd be surprised what the little mini crawlers can do. Plus they're great for small spaces or when you can't get out for a long trail with a bigger rig. Now I can just step outside my back door and enjoy RC. 👍
@@DoURC I've messed around with plenty of mini crawlers. A friend has an indoor course. They are certainly capable. But it's more about the reasons you do it. I love crawling because it means going to cool places in the woods or mountains and having a smoke with me friends. And I love old cars and vehicles. It just illustrates how many different reasons we have for loving RC
@Brian Morrissey Totally agree, that's one of the things I love about this hobby, so many options to have fun. My favourite thing to do is actually mudding, can't beat getting my TRX4 or one of my other rigs deep into some mud, love it. 👍 Having mini crawlers as well as my bigger rigs just means more opportunities to enjoy RC. 👍
Mines en route now I like it cuz in shitty weather I can run this in house more then a big tenth scale. N I'm plan on tooling around with my mini n keeping looking nice
@BlazeOctane44 Yeah they definitely have their advantages. Granted in some ways its not quite the same experience as 1/10 rigs, but imo it opens up a whole other side to crawling. 👍
Companies like tamiya traxxas are just losing the plot and most of their stuff are just ridiculous money grabs...just like big music industry couldn't adapt to streaming, piracy and mp3 these guys are stuck in their obsolete models of business...these new unknown and (slightly unscrupulous) companies are redifining the hobby by offering quality product at AFFORDABLE(key word) prices...i bought three of these for some younger boys just starting to show interest in rc...if i wanted tamiya or trax i would have spent 300 each plus having to assemble and paint the damn thing as well...no thanks

🤣 Yeah, I've scratched it plenty more since. The body is tough too, I've had some nasty steep rock rollovers and the body can take it. 👍
