Great video! Thank you for your explanation of all the pitfalls during this modification, I’ve broken the glass when setting the channel on the bottom. Sometimes, I don’t know my own strength! Just tap it! Not pound it!!
Sorry, but I like my vent wing windows?! The engineers at the factory back then knew what they were doing. I like em! Especially when you don't have A/C!! Nice vid as always Dave!
If you use the glass to form the window run channel the corners will come out cleaner. Recently found your channel, great stuff, keep up the good work.
nice conversion to get rid of those leaky quarter windows a better way to form the curved corners on the bailey channel is use the glass and slowly bend it round the corners of the glass then it fits better into the corners of the door frame i've done this on a lot of early holdens here in australia that use the same channelling as you used in the video
Dave your videos are always great. Can you make a video on adjusting doors and Stricker plates on 50s&60s pickups. I would like to learn more for my 57 chevy step side
Man it makes me nervous seeing that spinning blade without a guard a 1/2 from your fingers, I usually cut off about 1/2 of it, but leave the back of it....but great work and very informative as usual. I wish this could be done on my 62?
A trick for those Phillip's head screws is to use an impact screwdriver, the one that takes screw bits and you hit it with a hammer, you can get them from harbor freight or online and they work really good.
Tint is in the glass, no left and right, it's all the same. However, we are discontinuing the tinted glass soon so if you want some you better get it now while we still have it in stock. August 2021
@@johnlreim We're in the process of re-releasing it right now. We had a problem with our glass supplier but we've gotten it straightened out. Should be available again by spring 2021.
David, Typically I have installed windows with the door still body mounted, so I'm curious as to what you are using to free support the door for this video. Great technique by the way.
Our only suggestion would be to try and remove the inner panel and see if you can get to the latch actuating rod to pull on it. That should release the latch and you can proceed from there.
Thanks Brother Welch...
Next episode: Converting a 55-59 Apache small back window into a big back window.
Added to the suggestion list!

We've done the same. Live and learn.
Thanks Dave, I asked you for this a few months back & you did it. Excellent & informative video as usual.
Cheers mate!
Our pleasure buddy! Thanks for the suggestion!
Oldschool mechanic, we don't need damn guards on rotary tools! Good stuff!
I am a 45 year aircraft mechanic. Always use guards and ppe as a side note I have all my fingers, toes and eyes. Can still hear too.
Very helpful Dave. Going to come in handy when I update my 12958 GMC.

Thanks again for watching Adrian!

I love my wing windows!
I like vent windows, but great info if I have one to do for someone else. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion, we'll get on it!
Cool project. Looks good. However I would miss the wing window breeze.
Dave, have you added a video on this with converting the window to electric and using Altman latches? If not, could you? Thanks.

I have the one piece glass for the doors. Can I get the felt and hardware kit without the glass from Brothers?
You can call customer service and ask. Typically if there is a part number for the individual part then it can be sold separately. 800-977-2767
Another good video!!!
I want the smoke glass version. Is there a left and right window due to the tint? Or is the tint actually in the glass. tks
Tint is in the glass, no left and right, it's all the same. However, we are discontinuing the tinted glass soon so if you want some you better get it now while we still have it in stock. August 2021
Can you guys please do a video on how to do a one piece window for a 1953 chevy truck thanks
Turns out Brothers doesn't sell that kit any longer. They must have had some problems or it didn't sell well.

Video should be coming along with the re-release of the kit. Spring 2021.
3M Superfast Urethane Windshield Adhesive works a whole lot better for setting glass in the channel. Assemble it and trim the excess and you're done.
Thank you for the tip!

We fabricated a stand specifically to use for this video.
Is this mod available for a 64 c10? Nice segment
Nothing available at the moment.
do you sell the felt wipers separately from the kit? I cant find them on the website.
Call our shop, they are not on the website. 800-977-2767
Wish you guys did Ford! Seems so much harder to get info on my F1.
Is the electric single window kit come for both windows ?
Yes. Left and Right.
I have a 1977 Chevy k20 and the driver door is stuck closed and neither of the handles work. Any suggestion of how to open the door?

@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV what would be the best way to get the window crank off
@@elijahrobertsonvlogs738 The crank has a clip behind it, you just push the clip off with something flat like a small screwdriver.
How do I get the right kit for my truck? 1954 Chevy
Can you one piece the 60-66 door glass???
No kits are available at the moment. However, we are working on both of those kits (60-63 & 64-66) and they should be available mid 2022.
Does it work on a Chevy 62?
What kind of glue?
Here is a link for the glue.

Hey David, wanted to know if you guys have this setup for a 85 Chevy c10?
Yes we do, however it's in the process of a small re-tooling, so it's currently unavailable. Check with us Spring of 2021
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV ok thank you. Will Definitely be purchasing it.
Don’t buy this kit its garbage. Keep the wing windows unless your ready to do heavy welding and modifications
