- This haul was so much more than I expected! I'm excited to go through the Technic lot to see what sets I can complete from it.
Huge thanks to @philfromcharlotte for sending over the catalogs!

Love the nostalgia of looking at that old catalog. I didn’t ever know about it - but I felt it lol
It's everything I like in a single catalog 😁. It took so many years to find them it's hilarious I got a duplicate in the same haul video 😅
Cool Catalogs, and some great sets.
You should look into getting the catalogues scanned onto the Internet Archive
That's the plan, I need to buy a good scanner first
Just have to say, as a fellow homeschooled person who knew about Dacta and always wished I could get the full LEGO education experience, this video speaks to me. I'd love it if you could scan every page of the books you find, as that workbook honestly looks like the kind of thing that would be awesome to print pages from whenever I have kids of my own someday (I am exactly the kind of LEGO nerd that wants to educate kids with classic 90s LEGO stuff yes).
The thing I was most excited to see in one of those manuals was the capacitor car! I find that set fascinating because it came in a canister originally designed for LEGO dinosaur sets, so it looks rocky and cool for no educational purpose ;) But also, I find its unique capacitor brick intriguing, and the clever fact that you're supposed to build a generator with the pieces to charge it first and then rebuild it into the car when it's charged. You can't find that set anywhere now, at least nowhere I've looked. That's one where having the original packaging would be cool, but probably near impossible to find.
My only experience with Dacta was a place that did educational summer programs, marketed as "LEGO battle bots." They used Dacta kits to teach mechanical principles and then challenged you to build battle bots from a huge bin of old LEGO. Those were fun times :) I remember seeing the old Mindstorms temperature sensor in their collection of electronics, and they demonstrated the old LEGO solar panel at one point - the little rover it was built into barely moved under full sun lol, but it was still cool.
Anyway, seeing the teaching manuals and stuff is a window into a world that always seemed so elusive and obscure to me, so I appreciate you shining a light on it. I'm glad LEGO Education is finally available to the general public, but there's a charm and rarity to the old stuff that still makes it really interesting.
I had been searching for those catalogs for many years now, it was such a good feeling to finally find them. I'm looking into getting a good scanner for all the stuff I've found. Some of the teachers guides and books are on Archive dot org along with some of the software. I love to use the DACTA Control Lab in my builds with the official software. If you search "Lego DACTA" on my channel there are several other hauls like this with some really cool finds. I hope to one day make some videos on the individual sets I have along with the curriculum but I feel like that's a ways off with the way life has been going lately. I never knew about the packaging for the capacitor car, I'll have to keep an eye out! It sometimes takes many years but I have had some great DACTA finds by constantly searching auction sites. One of the best things about starting this channel is to find those few people out there with as much passion and nostalgia for Lego DACTA 😁
While discussing Lego DACTA in Discord today (come join us if you are a discord user!) I made a playlist featuring most if not all of my haul videos that include Lego DACTA items or curriculum. There's some really cool stuff in there, hopefully I can one day complete my DACTA collection 😁
Physical paper books will outlive us all. Excellent haul! Please do scan those and tell us where we can find them. I collect books like those as well, and even have scans and prints of books from teachers that I found inside the older mindstorms boxes. ❤
I need to figure out the best place to upload them. After I get a scanner that is 😅
Trains are calling! I think they want to play with you.
Nice haul especially, the U-boat one I love the old technic bricks and older catalogs are always a dream. I remember the feeling I had as a child
Spoiler alert, I only had to order one piece to complete the submarine set 😁
@@BatteryPoweredBricks Nice!
I don’t remember the ultimate builders set. I thought I had all the add on sets. Its amazing those looked unused
It was the most interesting to me by far. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to making a video about it. It had some great builds
Where you could use that ir remote besides greentruck?
It can be used for all kinds of things. In my Aquazone diorama project I'm working on it can control the monorail manually or start and stop programs. I imagine it will be used for more things by the end of it
Hey are you looking for the control lab software?
I have the Control Lab software, but there was dedicated software that came with the Intelligent House that I have yet to find
Ahh right I use to have have that lost all my old 💾's in a fire but backed up the lot on a hdd I'll see if I can find it 👍
