    I just did this job on both sides found it much easier if you disconnect the strut. It was easier to access the wheel bearing bolts making it easier to get them out. Was also easier to remove the old wheel bearing and install the new one.

    Thank you for this great video! I followed this video to replace the wheel bearing hub on my car and worked out well. However, I missed something when installing the new hub. When you take the old wheel hub out at 5:33, there is a loose metal ring hanging and swinging on the axis, when you next install the new one, there is no such ring. After installing my hub, I find such a ring under my toolbox, it is pretty clean, looks like it has come with the new wheel hub and I did not install it on the car, and I did not find the old ring with the old hub. The new hub fits well and the car drives well too so far. My question is, what is that ring for? Is it a concern that I did not install it? Thank you very much!

    This video is awesome. Two questions:
    1. I heard that when replacing the front wheel bearing you should also replace the front axle nut. Is this required or just a recommendation.
    2. Does anyone know the torque specs for all the bolts especially the axle nut?
    I just had this job done on my car at a local shop. Very disappointed because I'm still hearing noises as if the bad bearing was still on. Thinking of checking the others to determine if I have to replace another, and do it myself this time.

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  7 років тому +1

      Thank you for the feedback! Indeed, when replacing the front wheel bearing you should also replace the front axle nut. However, our video is considered to be an informative one, and it shows the sequence of repairs, without going into all the technical details. The torque specs are described in the vehicle technical documentation for the repair and maintenance.This information can be given in an authorized service on maintenance of your car maker. Best regards, Autodoc.

    Great video, but narrative with tips instead of music would be an improvement. In the video at about 3:40 where he is removing the bolt/nut that runs parallel to rotor, my car does not have the nut (it has a cotter pin at the end) and this bolt will not moving. I can get it to turn (barely) but it just seems to turn in place and have hammered to no available trying to "tap it out" as is shown in this video. Any suggestions?

      @ruslan1394 5 років тому

      @@Bucknut72470 I know now NOT to hammer on axel. My wheelhub was stuck and I disregarded to borrow puller so I hammered thinking its a strong metal. It didnt take much force that axel bulked up and the nut thread on its end got half of it size. To my luck there was enough healthy thread left. Lucky except that I spent the whole evening manually filing a new thread on that axel. Other then that Santa Fe rocks! bought it with high millage used (4 years old 140k km) and I have had it for 6 years. Changed both front shocks ($160), both front ball joints ($80), 1 front wheelhub ($200 moog), fuel level sensol ($120), new battery ($110), 2 rear break pads ($160 ceramic bosch). I changed it all my self and parts cost me total $830 for 6 years (about $140/yr)
      Plus $60, oil changes every 8 months. I don't change oil myself. As old as the car is - it still drives like new. It actually bothers me. I been doing parking lot donuts a lot in the last couple years. No wheel alignment done, never even changed spark plugs.
