Idk if he ever went back to it before things went bad but sad to see the final concept wasn't the same as the initial the many people loved to play.
It def holds up, it’s more rough around the edges than official Minecraft but the mechanics set it apart enough to feel fresh. It’s def more of a “survival” game than actual Minecraft
Great to see Vintage Story get some publicity. If you have ever chased that high of trying to survive your first night in Minecraft as a kid, I cannot recommend it enough.
@@Roberta-yf4ge What do you even mean? THOSE DAMN WOLF BASTARDS ARE STILL A MENACE TO FIGHT AT EARLY GAME!!!!! There is a reason me and my friend called them forest landmines
I used to play a game called Eden World Builder. It was a fairly basic Minecraft clone for Mobile devices but it had some pretty cool ideas like sliding blocks, trampoline blocks and corner blocks. You could also color liquids any way you wanted. There was a lot of fairly impressive user generated content too. One thing that always stuck with me with that game was that it had a weirdly eerie vibe to it. You couldn't die, but there was barely any music so it was just very silent most of the time. There where Monsters too, but they didn't really do anything. Whole game feels like one giant liminal space at times. Out of all the more blatant Minecraft Clones, Eden is the only one I still think about from time to time.
I played that game before the monsters, I remember the day they added playing in online world submissions/downloads too. Most annoying part of that game was I would build a base in superflat then have no idea what direction it was in because everything was the same flatness.
15:25 Amazing seeing Vintage Story get some recognition here. It delivers on what I wanted from Minecraft and does not add the nonsense actual MC is receiving now. Another benefit is that the dedicated server software run MUCH lighter, which as I self-host it makes a massive difference, especially compared to MC. A shame it's still obscure and often gets shrugged off as another MC clone at first, while it's a very different experience outside of the voxel look.
Tbh minecraft aways had nonsense Dont know what you wanted from a block game with portals and suicide bomber cactus it literally is a minecraft clone, thats why it exists And hearing about it being easier to run makes me even more exited to play, looks fun ngl
@@fabiofanf3e813 yeah i feel like the whole "mc is adding too much 😡" group really reminds me of the folks who complain about every pkmn game after red/blue. its not as simplistic and joyful as you remember but if it didnt change or grow it wouldve died
@@fabiofanf3e813 I think he meant that Minecraft got bloated progressively with more pointless garbage time wasters and trivially casualised to death for little kids. Besides just being more and more boringly dull.
I know this is just a list of games but you really undersold Vintage story. It's the biggest breath of fresh air in the cube genre since Minecraft itself. The devs are extremely passionate about their product and it shows. The depth of crafting is unparalleled and frankly I haven't been addicted to a Minecraft style game this hard since I got my shiny new copy of Xbox 360 MC.
I have great memories of Ace of Spades - used to dig tunnels all the time to the enemy base, steal the flag and run on back. You'd be amazed how often this would work. It was the best though!
I remember getting genuinely pissed off as a kid because an relative of mine was playing a Minecraft knockoff on her tablet and kept insisting it was the real one.
Anyone remember Patterns? A "clone" made by the Second Life devs, instead of just cubes you could make stuff out of pyramids and all sorts of prisms. And it also had physics. It got cancelled and removed from sale on steam 9 years ago but the store page is still up.
Worldcraft is a hidden Minecraft copy that’s a gem. Most of the old server worlds are still up and we're made by very passionate teens and kids back like 5-6 years ago. That game was where I picked up my hobby of roleplaying.
Really enjoyed this video - Minecraft was a massive part of my childhood (started with Pocket Edition Lite!) and it continues to be essentially the only game my twin (who's almost completely uninterested in gaming) plays with me even semi-consistently, so I have tons of nostalgia for that early 2010's era. I unfortunately do not own Minecraft itself right now, but one clone I did stumble upon that I think does a great job is Minetest - it's free and open source and was originally made because the developer wanted to basically reverse-engineer Minecraft to see how it worked - and what you download is actually a whole voxel game engine, with a number of different gameplay styles available on the website. The basic game that comes with the engine is your standard Minecraft Classic-style builder, but there's two straight-up clones of Minecraft's survival mode (updated as new features come out!), along with a basic Sim City lite game, a Bomberman clone, a SevTech Ages-styled tech-advancement focused game, a couple puzzle titles, and more. Someone even tried making a 3D platformer!
I’m an indie dev working on a zombie survival craft game. And Minecraft is one of my favorite art styles so I am going for the same look. Weird that UA-cam recommended me this video.
There's something called minetest, It's an open-source clone with the premise of the player deciding the content. It has a solid modding community and is available for all OSs.
Although the ads are way too crazy, the video is good. There are so many Minecraft clones that i never heard of. There is another Minecraft clone that nobody seems to talk about called Survivalcraft. It’s a pretty good clone and the game runs smoother. Minecraft may be a bit laggy sometimes, and bedrock edition on IOS devices will lock up your device if you put your device to sleep and try to play the game. The only way to fix it is to perform a hard reset. Survivalcraft doesn’t have this problem, but there are many differences like the game is more geared towards nature, not everything is a cube, and there are no generated structures.
One of the funniest things about this video to me is most of these alternative takes on Minecraft can be also found directly in Minecraft through the modding scene. RPG mods, PvE focused adventure survival maps, shooters, farm and quest focused stuff, even space I've (and played) almost all of these kinds of things just as mods in the real deal and they're usually really good.
i gotta wonder what the percentage of inspiration for this video was austin wanting to talk about minecraft clones over him wanting to talk about dragon quest builders
I have roughly 300 hours Vintagestory. It is a good game, but the only thing it shares with Minecraft is the look. Overall, it is much closer to Don't Starve than Minecraft. The first winter is spent sitting in your house, trying not to starve or freeze to death. Your food spoils, so you have to get a lot of it and find a way to make it last, including airtight underground chambers, salt and just charring pies until they are almost inedible. And hope you got enough firewood, because days are a lot shorter during the winter and it will be risky to get more. PLENTY of time to craft at home, or just take it all in. It runs in wallpaper mode.
The Blockheads was a weird one. I remember playing that one a lot; the use of classic music in it was interesting though hah Same goes for DSCraft, but that's more of a homebrew test as you could only build or break and there was nothing else; kinda like a beta build of Minecraft itself.
Block Story is such a gem in my eyes. Despite being a little awkward at times, it really does merge the idea of Minecraft with RPG elements very well. Being able to upgrade your stats by leveling up and even raising several rideable pets to fight by your side is very satisfying. There's also tons of quests to complete that unlock new recipes from better tools to a full on mech suit. Sadly, theres no multiplayer but for those who enjoy a solo experience I'd definitely recommend you to give it a try.
Very surprised you didn't mention FortressCraft Evolved when talking about FortressCraft. It's a huge shift in the overall product and I feel like it's one of the more interesting developments - going from a complete Minecraft clone to something very different.
You forgot Minetest for PC which begun development in 2009. It developed it's own community and is open source which often leads many clones (especially on Android) using it's source code to get that sweet sweet $.
2011-ish were interesting times, where google play (well, it was still called android store back then, lol) was full of minecraft clones that were free and had lower requirements than pocket edition.
I thought that the Dragon Quest Builders games were going to be too big for this list. But I am glad Austin talked about them. I absolutely love those games, and I am never going to really play the original Minecraft. Though. I might be biased by growing up playing Dragon Warrior I and II on my GBC.
@@valletas yeah, it is generic fantasy. But if you want dragon quest but different you can always look into the Dragon Quest Monsters series. If you can find any of the games.
My favorite Minecraft alternative is Colony Survival. Don't let its generic name mislead you, its gameplay loop is fun. It's a colony survival sandbox where you grow your colony while making sure it can survive þe night. Þere is a tech tree þat adds to what you can assign your colonists to. Þere are also upgrades to guards þat increase power and range at þe expense of speed and resource cost. It's still in early access on Steam, but is already a great experience. Until your colony gets overwhelmed by zombies and is completely killed off, requiring all of your food stores to restore because you progressed too fast. And when you try getting connections between settlements þat are more þan roads wiþout realizing þe only horizontal land transportation requires a copious amount of infrastructure since it has zero verticality and can't turn. Or want to add doors to your buildings. Or cross water. Þankfully þe next major update is a building update and boats have been promised.
I think one of the biggest issues with the “Minecraft but” games is that Minecraft buy itself is extremely versatile. If you want to play Minecraft but it’s a shooter you can just get a mod or join a server.
every time i see someone talk about minecraft clones i'm surprised survivalcraft is never mentioned, it was like THE minecraft clone its even got a sequel
Holy shit I started watching this and was like "it would be cool if he talked about Vintage Story in a video" and then it came up out of nowhere! I've been tired of vanilla MC for a long time and when I found VS it just finished the job and I haven't played vanilla MC even once since. The game is really good and it deserves a lot more attention, and lately it seems to have been getting it as me and my friends have started encountering VS players in the wild which is cool to see. The game just had its biggest update ever adding more than 1000 new items to the game in total, and the game also has really good mod support that is continuing to improve. If any game could ever _really_ become a "Minecraft killer" it would definitely be Vintage Story I think. It really _is_ what MC's survival mode _should_ have been. Pitch black nights like the old days of MC, enemies that aren't pushovers (even just a simple wolf can kill you in only a couple of hits without armor), cool Lovecraftian mechanics, and multiple different in-world crafting mechanics for things like tools and pottery to keep things varied and interesting as you progress.
One voxel game with guns that I recall is called Blockstorm if I recall correctly. It had similar gameplay to Ace Of Spades, in particular I believe the disowned fully published one. The big thing that made this interesting is that you could customize your character, the mech that the game apparently has, the zombies in the co op mode, and I believe even maps. This is cool but it unfortunately doesn’t have a player base. Edit one kind of sub genre of voxel building games is the space voxel game. This genre started with a game called Space Engineers, and has plenty of similar games itself. The best one I can think of is Starship EVO, which was originally called Skywanderers.
I'm honestly beyond surprised that Pixel Gun 3D wasn't mentioned in this video considering that it was one of those Minecraft + zombie mode + guns + deathmatch games that actually pulled it off REALLY WELL for a good while before going pay to win. I swear whenever Ihear one of the copyright free songs that were used in the game's maps there's usually lots of comments from people who were fond of PG3D. PG3D had a campaign (Which I don't think was ever finished), multiplayer pvp, a zombie mode, and the original maps for it were surprisingly great
Total miner forge was my JAM it was a blast, you could build a store and trade items, I would get a stack of wood and build some doors them sell the doors and buy wood with the money which would yield me more wood than I started with, build more doors sell, repeat, infinite moneys. Ahh man the memories. You've earned a nostalgia like for bringing it up.
Fun fact: there is no evidence that the cube world website ever suffered a DDOS attack BUT there was a LOT of demand for the game most likely the server overloaded from people downloading the game and the developer though it was an attack
I remember playing castleminer z and finding out the world loops around. And if you walk far enough you could find the rarest of minerals just laying in the open
God I loved guncraft so fucking much. How did austin miss the fact you could create your own custom guns from scratch modeled from the ground up to be literally anything you wanted? You could shoot people with cow shaped guns or whacky tentacle snipers, If you could dream it you could make it. That was the biggest draw of the game and I've never seen a system like it replicated since. Take a look at the workshop to see all those intricately user modeled and detailed weapons which could then be shared to anyone. You could also make "prefabs" which were whatever you wanted so you could create giant statues of yourself in the middle of the map if you wanted. It was all extremely cool and unique
God damn thanks for naming vintage story! I'm really waiting for that big player boost because most servers there are considered big at around 100 - 200 players.
I loved the hell out of Trove when it came out on the Xbox One, and I wanted to transfer my progress over to the PC version when I was finally able to play that version, only to find out you can't do that. I was pretty upset but I kept playing, only to eventually reach a point where I realized how heavily it leaned into the pay-to-win part of f2p games the further you progressed. It took literal days or weeks to grind for gear that was for the most part just cosmetic, and I simply didn't have the time or patience for that. So I unfortunately decided to quit
7 Days to Die is my favorite survival game that I always keep going back to. It has a steep learning curve/high difficulty for new players but once you get the hang of it, I just couldn't stop. Out of the many titles out there I've played doesn't seem to have that hook I'm looking for, I simply can't drop 7DTD. Nice to know that update alpha 21 will be releasing this year. Devs also said they want to release it side by side with a PS5 and Xbox one X/S port. This update/port is gonna be massive and can't wait to jump back in for the 1000th time with the crew and have fun and go nuts!
Whats so wild i remember a buddy of mine in college was playing the minecraft beta when it came out. Crazy how its still going to strong lol. That was like 2010
Man am i grateful you talked about DQ Builders, i love those games, also i love how oddly dark DQ Builders 1 is with it's second world?? It is depressingly bleak, i loved it. Still haven't played DQ Builders 2, but i played a lot of the demo, and i love how they improved everything i loved about the original.
I'm kind of surprised you didn't mention "3d Dot Heroes", it was developed by "From Software" & "Silicon Studios" and originally came out for the PS3. It was actually pretty cool game that while was clearly inspired by Minecraft did more than enough to stand out as it's own game, with a unique story and some cool gameplay mechanics. Definitely something to check out if your looking for a Mincraft fix but are tired of Minecraft, or if your just interested in a cool Sandbox RPG with a interesting story and mechanics. Personally, I sorta wrote it off as a Minecraft clone...But was kind of drawn to it and when I played I was really surprised to see how different and how fun it actually turned out to be. I'm so happy that I did choose to get it and play it back then. But I just wish it was more popular and successful, so it could have a chance at getting a sequel which I don't think will ever happen unfortunately as the game didn't really do well, even though it had decent reviews and grew a sizeable cult following for it after a while. I guess like myself people just wrote it off as a generic cash grab clone of Minecraft, when it really isn't and has so much more to offer.
An interesting thing about Manic Digger: If I remember correctly, it was actually a Minecraft clone to demonstrate that Minecraft would run better if it wasn't programmed in Java. That's why it's very basic, but it's also open source. Two teams then took up the project and each developed it into something else. The first is Vintage Story and the second one is Hytale.
Dragon Quest Builders was my introduction into the Dragon Quest Series. It's bizarre playing earlier games and feeling nostalgic for the tropes and music I was introduced to in Builders.
Castleminer Z still had at least 2 concepts I'd love to see Minecraft actually get. One, is that Castleminer's version of The Nether, was literally just really far down into the ground. As opposed to being a whole dimension, you just dug really far down. It was neat. And TWO, the idea of getting better resources the farther away from your initial spawn you go. Castleminer Z had a whole Ore Biome if you walked far enough even. It just gave me a reason to actually wander off, which is something Minecraft doesn't really have.
I remember every UA-camr playing cube world for awhile haha! I also had an app called “Eden” on my iPod touch growing up before pocket edition came out!
One of my favorite Minecraft alternatives is Aground! It's only 2d and has a branching story to follow so it holds my attention much better than "literally just do whatever" lol
15:02 actually shat myself at the mention of cubecrator I played the demo of this thing all the time because i didnt have the game I unironically loved it so much. i still have like 5 or 3 trials left and i dont think i’ll ever open it
@@austineruption No, not really. Not even close, in fact. Have you heard of Stranded 2, a survival game that came out in 2007? Aka 2 whole years before Infiniminer, Minecraft's inspiration, came out. If you play it, you will notice striking similarities between The Forest and Stranded 2. Much more than between the Forest and Minecraft, where the ONLY similar aspect is that you can chop down trees (except in Forest you require an axe to do it, you can't just punch trees)
I went into this video thinking "oh I wonder if he'll mention SurvivalCraft, that clone game I used to play on my Kindle Fire all the time when I was younger." And I was a LITTLE sad that it wasn't brought up because it was actually good, but I was NOT disappointed by the DRAGONS QUEST BUILDERS MENTION HELL YEAH I LOVE BUILDERS THE SEQUEL IS LEGITIMATELY ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAMES OF ALL TIME
Ace of Spades is the best non-minecraft minecraft game I've ever played, and Jagex ruined it! RUINED IT! Seriously, it was an amazing game, and there's still server's that you can play today on third party sources. If you can, go and play some rounds, it's really fun, and surprisingly tactical for what it is. You can find it under the name Build and Shoot, running classic servers in the original style and feel. Great stuff, 10/10 game and 10/10 port.
I still miss CubeWorld so much. Even though while the Alpha was still bare bones in terms of the gameplay loop, the concept was super fun. I do hope that the developer is okay, I think they got discouraged from the DDos attack and I’m sure the Steam release in 2019 didn’t help. Another game I miss was Timber and Stone. It was a city/survival management game on Steam that was pretty fun. The modern equivalent is Stonehearth but even that has its flaws.
I literally did go really hard on valheim for a few weeks and then step away. To be fair I only stepped away because my boyfriend refused to play it with me anymore because he was afraid of defeating the plains boss and then having nothing left to do until the next update, but that was a fun obsession while it lasted.

i remember playing survivalcraft as a kid and just like, breeding horses 💀 i had minecraft, this game just hit different, it hit BETTER
Watched the whole video hoping he'd mention it...
It def holds up, it’s more rough around the edges than official Minecraft but the mechanics set it apart enough to feel fresh. It’s def more of a “survival” game than actual Minecraft
I love survivalcraft
Great to see Vintage Story get some publicity. If you have ever chased that high of trying to survive your first night in Minecraft as a kid, I cannot recommend it enough.
It's so good but it's not as hard after they nerfed the wolfs xD
@@Roberta-yf4ge What do you even mean? THOSE DAMN WOLF BASTARDS ARE STILL A MENACE TO FIGHT AT EARLY GAME!!!!!

Oh my god, I played that too! I remember exploring that one Megacity Tokyo map for hours.
I remember when kids were trying to convince me to play it instead of Minecraft because it was "Minecraft but for girls". I never even checked it out
I PLAYED THE SHIT OUT OF THAT GAME
15:25 Amazing seeing Vintage Story get some recognition here.
It delivers on what I wanted from Minecraft and does not add the nonsense actual MC is receiving now.
Another benefit is that the dedicated server software run MUCH lighter, which as I self-host it makes a massive difference, especially compared to MC.
A shame it's still obscure and often gets shrugged off as another MC clone at first, while it's a very different experience outside of the voxel look.
Tbh minecraft aways had nonsense
Dont know what you wanted from a block game with portals and suicide bomber cactus
it literally is a minecraft clone, thats why it exists
And hearing about it being easier to run makes me even more exited to play, looks fun ngl
I don’t really enjoy vanilla minecraft much but modded minecraft can have a lot more actually desired content
The rip-off called Survivalcraft was my favorite as a kid for some reason and idk why I loved it so much
omg yes i remember that 😭
I wouldn’t even call it a rip-off, it has plenty of content to distinguish it from Minecraft. More so just inspired
Vintage craft reminds me of the old mc mod terrafirma craft. Its cool seeing something similar be turned into a full game.
Fittingly enough had this on as background noise while playing Dragon Quest Builders 2
The tragedy of cubeworld is immense and i really wish they fixed it...
Of all the wounds in my life, Cube World is the deepest.
I waited for so long.
There's something called minetest, It's an open-source clone with the premise of the player deciding the content. It has a solid modding community and is available for all OSs.
At like the 21 minute mark I looking on my PC wondering if I have FFXI playing in the background lol. That music was very subtle.
Things I played: Minecraft, Krunker, Block Craft 3D, Cube Life Island Survival, Cube World, Lego Worlds, Dragon Quest Builders, Dragon Quest Builders 2
Dragon Quest Builders was pretty sick. It felt like they took the basic concept and just went all in RPG with it. Fantastic game.
Vintage story is an unironic masterpiece so far
Oh, and if you see a Wolf. Run.

Those and Halo. I miss those days haha
Total Miner Forge unlocked a core memory of mine.
I really liked how you could group blocks ahead of time and lay them out in a row.
Real game needs that tbh.
Fun fact, if you have steam you can buy it and they are still updating it to this day!
I love Builders 2 because when monsters fights happen your villagers will rebuild for you.
I love building brown bricks in minecraft clones
The Blockheads was a weird one. I remember playing that one a lot; the use of classic music in it was interesting though hah
Same goes for DSCraft, but that's more of a homebrew test as you could only build or break and there was nothing else; kinda like a beta build of Minecraft itself.
The basket system was sure something
Block Story is such a gem in my eyes. Despite being a little awkward at times, it really does merge the idea of Minecraft with RPG elements very well. Being able to upgrade your stats by leveling up and even raising several rideable pets to fight by your side is very satisfying. There's also tons of quests to complete that unlock new recipes from better tools to a full on mech suit.
Sadly, theres no multiplayer but for those who enjoy a solo experience I'd definitely recommend you to give it a try.

Was not expecting to hear the zeta gundam opening.
I see you are a man of culture, Austin.
I love botth Dragon Quest Builders games so much! They are so much fun and cute! Cant wait for the third one!!!
Wait, have they announced a third one yet?? Have I missed something??

I thought that the Dragon Quest Builders games were going to be too big for this list. But I am glad Austin talked about them. I absolutely love those games, and I am never going to really play the original Minecraft. Though. I might be biased by growing up playing Dragon Warrior I and II on my GBC.
Man i really want to like dragonquest games because their gameplay is great but the games i played were too much of a generic fantasy for me to care
Dragon Quest Builders series is probably my fave
Austin you're one of the few content creators that i truly love and enjoy!! thanks for giving us this videos and i hope you keep doing it
The amount of time me and my friends spent in Total Miner Forge back in the day.
Dragon Quest Builders is so god damn fun.
PG3D had a campaign (Which I don't think was ever finished), multiplayer pvp, a zombie mode, and the original maps for it were surprisingly great
total miner forge and castle miner Z were the best back in the day
Total miner forge was my JAM it was a blast, you could build a store and trade items, I would get a stack of wood and build some doors them sell the doors and buy wood with the money which would yield me more wood than I started with, build more doors sell, repeat, infinite moneys. Ahh man the memories. You've earned a nostalgia like for bringing it up.
Fun fact: there is no evidence that the cube world website ever suffered a DDOS attack
BUT there was a LOT of demand for the game most likely the server overloaded from people downloading the game and the developer though it was an attack
I remember playing castleminer z and finding out the world loops around. And if you walk far enough you could find the rarest of minerals just laying in the open
7 Days to Die and No Man's Sky are my favorite Minecraft clones
Every time I catch an FFXI track subtly playing in the background in your videos, I feel joy.

That was like 2010
I'm so glad you mentioned Cube Creator 3d. THAT was MY Minecraft. You know, when I wasn't playing my copy of actual Minecraft Xbox 360 edition
I was waiting for DQ Builders the entire time and I was not disappointed. Wonderful games.

Man am i grateful you talked about DQ Builders, i love those games, also i love how oddly dark DQ Builders 1 is with it's second world?? It is depressingly bleak, i loved it. Still haven't played DQ Builders 2, but i played a lot of the demo, and i love how they improved everything i loved about the original.
the second world was the poison one right?
Are the DQB games a side story to the original DQ games?? I recognized the Dragonlord...

Total miner had BY far the scariest and loudest giant red eyed spiders. Those screams holy shit
Dragon Quest Builders was my introduction into the Dragon Quest Series. It's bizarre playing earlier games and feeling nostalgic for the tropes and music I was introduced to in Builders.
There is a complete copy of Minecraft and it’s called Crazy Block Robo World, same ui and everything and just a lot of ads, it’s honestly scary.
Ace of Spades got a perfect roblox port also called same name and work and look same with updated graphics and animations .
One of my favorite minecraft clones was Kidblock. It had some weird things like guns and different mobs, but I actually quite enjoyed it!
Murder Miners is getting a long awaited sequel one of these days. Very excited
I remember I had a game called lunacraft on my ipod touch back in the day. The atmosphere was actually really nice from my memory.
I actually played quite a lot of Eldritch. Was a very fun roguelike to me
I remember every UA-camr playing cube world for awhile haha! I also had an app called “Eden” on my iPod touch growing up before pocket edition came out!
One of my favorite Minecraft alternatives is Aground! It's only 2d and has a branching story to follow so it holds my attention much better than "literally just do whatever" lol

Survivalcraft is an absolute banger. Basically a more hardcore version of Minecraft and also has a surprising emphasis on physics.
Sons of the Forest is a pretty big stretch there, Austin.
The Minecraft to SotF pipeline is more direct than you'd think. Called it inspiration for a reason.
@@austineruption No, not really. Not even close, in fact. Have you heard of Stranded 2, a survival game that came out in 2007? Aka 2 whole years before Infiniminer, Minecraft's inspiration, came out.
You guys remember Exploration Lite?
I still miss CubeWorld so much. Even though while the Alpha was still bare bones in terms of the gameplay loop, the concept was super fun. I do hope that the developer is okay, I think they got discouraged from the DDos attack and I’m sure the Steam release in 2019 didn’t help.
Another game I miss was Timber and Stone. It was a city/survival management game on Steam that was pretty fun. The modern equivalent is Stonehearth but even that has its flaws.
can you do all video game clones but in all first-person games?
I literally did go really hard on valheim for a few weeks and then step away. To be fair I only stepped away because my boyfriend refused to play it with me anymore because he was afraid of defeating the plains boss and then having nothing left to do until the next update, but that was a fun obsession while it lasted.
